We’re IPWSO, the international umbrella body for Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) associations around the world. We want to hear from candidates who can effectively convey the life-changing impact of our work, motivate our community to support our work, and ensure that the educational resources we provide reach those who need them most.
Our membership comprises PWS associations in 47 countries and we support individual families and professionals in over 70 other countries.
We have a staff team of four who work in conjunction with dedicated volunteers from around the world.
Key Fundraising Responsibilities
- Develop communications content that will invigorate our existing donors and inspire new ones leading to increased giving by individuals to IPWSO.
- Focusing in particular on our website and social media channels, communicate our achievements, impacts and needs with a view to influencing IPWSO’s online supporters to make donations and engage in fundraising initiatives.
- Provide outstanding donor care to encourage a high level of retention and repeat donations.
- Work with IPWSO’s Fundraising Committee on a variety of fundraising initiatives, which may include a new collaborative global fundraiser to be rolled out in 2025.
- Act as the organisational lead for IPWSO’s CRM (Donorfy) and utilise it to improve the donor journey.
- Develop a robust pipeline of case studies for use in our fundraising campaigns.
Key Communications Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for IPWSO’s public email address and social media channels and ensure that timely and appropriate replies are issued.
- Manage IPWSO’s social media channels, creating original and engaging posts, and actively engaging with our audiences.
- Manage Google Ad Grant campaigns with an emphasis on growing our supporter base and increasing individual giving.
- Keep up to date with emerging trends in digital communications and social media, and recommend potential new channels for fundraising and audience engagement.
- Maintain and develop the IPWSO website ensuring its security and that it functions both as an effective supporter acquisition tool and a means by which people can easily access information about PWS.
- Produce compelling monthly newsletters and an Annual Report.

Job Purpose
The Fundraising Manager will work closely with the CEO to execute the fundraising strategy for Child’s i Foundation, with a focus on driving regular giving, community fundraising, and individual giving initiatives. As the Helping Rhino Fundraising Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of the charity’s fundraising goals through multiple income streams. There will be a focus on stewarding and growing the charity’s major donor database (both individual and corporate), delivery of successful engagement and fundraising events and producing creative online appeals. Metabolic Support UK (MSUK) is the umbrella patient organisation for people living with and affected by Inherited Metabolic Disorders (IMDs). We are a UK-based organisation with an international reach. There are approximately 40,000 people in the UK living with one of around 1,500 IMDs. Globally an estimated 71, 260 people are born with these conditions each year and 1.43 million people live with IMDs worldwide.
IMDs are rare, lifelong genetic disorders that affect people in a variety of ways including lifestyle, lifespan, diet and medication needs and symptoms. Sadly, some disorders can cause irreversible complications or death.

The role
MSUK is looking to recruit a dynamic, ambitious and confident Fundraising Manager to work with the Chief Executive to develop and implement our income strategy. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Fundraising Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be a core member of the team, developing and delivering the income stream for the charity with fundraising strategies that support MSUK’s mission. The role will report to the Chief Executive and will be responsible for driving forward all aspects of fundraising, including building corporate partnerships, individual giving, major donors, trusts and foundations, legacies and community. Main Responsibilities:
Fundraising Management and Development

Work with the Chief Executive to develop and implement a balanced and realistic fundraising strategy, which builds on MSUK strengths and maximises income for the charity.

Deliver an integrated fundraising programme, which includes corporate partnerships, individual giving, major donors, trusts and foundations, legacies, community and events.

Ensure all fundraising activity is compliant with GDPR and relevant fundraising regulation and that all data is accurate and maintained efficiently.

To maintain and develop the donor CRM platform (currently Nutshell) including building supporter journeys to enhance donor experiences and maximise income for the charity.

Provide up to date funding reports and fundraising forecasts for the board

Work with the team to ensure that all opportunities to promote MSUK and develop our fundraising and supporter engagement experiences are explored and maximised.

With the CEO, manage all aspects of finance and reporting relating to fundraising, including annual budgets, monthly reporting and re-forecasting. Provide monthly reports and updates on all fundraising activities and income streams

Work with the communications team, internal colleagues and external stakeholders to create impactful storytelling and supporter engagement opportunities to maximise revenue streams.

THE ROLE
The Fundraising Manage (Trusts & Foundations) role would suit someone who is looking to work with a high degree of autonomy and who welcomes the chance to be innovative and strategic, whilst being supported to achieve their goals. The role is within our Fundraising & Communications team of four staff and works in collaboration with regional Senior Network Managers. There is an opportunity for the post holder to collaborate with the Partnerships Manager on the development of applications to corporate foundations.
Income generation
- Primary focus of the role is the responsibility for Trusts & Foundations fundraising, to meet annual targets.
- Develop compelling funding propositions and case for support to meet priorities, working closely with colleagues in Fundraising & Communications, Programmes and Monitoring, Research, Evaluation & Learning.
- Maintain an up to date pipeline of prospects through research and excellent record keeping, ensuring that applications are made to meet known deadlines.
- Ensure that all reporting and grant monitoring is delivered in a timely manner, working closely with the MERL Manager and colleagues across Programmes.
- Provide internal management information and reporting to the Head of Fundraising on a quarterly basis, or as required.
Stewardship
- Develop data management processes, ensuring timely impact reporting or other agreed deliverables.
- Ensure all donations and supporters are thanked in a timely and appropriate mode to their giving channel.
- Keep all relevant donor and financial information up-to-date on Salesforce, ensuring adherence to GDPR and other relevant good practice, as defined by the Fundraising Regulator and other sector bodies.
- Work with colleagues in Fundraising & Communications and CEO to deliver appropriate partner recognition including events and other engagement activities.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
You will have at least five years relevant experience, ideally with at least three years working in fundraising and be able to demonstrate previous success in generating income and achieving targets. You will be an exceptional communicator with the confidence to work on your own initiative and to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
You will be well organised with excellent attention to detail, work well under pressure and have the ability to think both strategically and operationally. Experience of working with CRM systems is preferred.
You have a good understanding of the disadvantages faced by both women and those from the least advantaged communities and have a drive to rectify the inequalities that currently exist.
You understand the time and resource limitations of a small charity, and you thrive on the potential to make a real difference with your work
