We are excited to announce an opportunity for a passionate Fundraising Community Coordinator to join our virtual events team. You will play a crucial part in managing the Facebook Groups for our events, ensuring an exceptional experience for our dedicated supporters.
As the Fundraising Community Coordinator you will be responsible for posting on our Facebook Groups, supporting the Virtual Events Assistant to create engaging content that will inspire and uplift our supporters, driving positive interactions within the community. TLP receives 750 new referrals every month and will provide support to 8000 people struggling with suicidal feelings this year. This is a pivotal role where you will be responsible for giving TLP a voice across external and internal communications. Through dependable, precise and creative communications, you will help TLP meet its three key communication objectives:

Working under the direction of the Head of Fundraising and Communications, the Communications Coordinator will be responsible for the development, delivery, analysis and growth of TLP’s communications through effective copy for internal and external stakeholders. This includes:
- Leading on day-to-day account management and content creation for organic and paid activity on TLP social media channels.
- Planning and executing activities for national campaigns including World Suicide Prevention Day and Mental Health Week.

The Daniel Spargo-Mabbs Foundation is a drug and alcohol education charity, founded by Fiona and Tim Spargo-Mabbs in 2014 in response to the death of their 16-year-old son Dan having taken ecstasy. Young Citizens is an education charity on a mission to empower young people to actively engage in society. For over three decades, we’ve been giving young people the tools to understand society’s institutions and tackle its biggest issues. This is a new role that will help Young Citizens ensure that our portfolio of long-standing and newly developed educational programmes and events are of the highest quality for schools and young people across the UK.
You will support the coordination team in delivering a series of events throughout the year, including our longest-running programme, the Bar Mock Trial Competition, which involves 22 events over six consecutive weeks in November. We work with schools, venues, and volunteers to provide inspiring learning experiences and programmes for children and young people.
You will contribute directly to our mission by leading the delivery of our school events programme. This includes responsibility for all aspects of event planning, delivery, and management, partner and volunteer development and management, audience development and evaluation, and events budgeting.

About EFA
English for Action provides free, participatory, and empowering English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes for migrants in London. Our classes are spaces to build community and support students to organise collectively around issues like employment and housing rights. Our work currently supports around 400 adult migrants across London. We’ve become a national centre of good practice for a radical participatory approach to ESOL, informed by the work of Paulo Freire, and we share this approach through training, research and partnerships.
Organisation: We are a staff team of 8 people supported by a larger team of volunteers and 9 trustees. EFA promotes shared leadership and collaboration and we aim for our organisational structure to reflect this. In the last 4 years we’ve transitioned away from having a CEO to an executive team to oversee operations and decision-making. As a charity, ultimate responsibility for, and control of, the organisation lies with the Board of Trustees.
Fundraising at EFA: We have one permanent fundraiser at EFA, who works two days per week on this area of work. The majority of EFA’s funding comes from charitable trusts and foundations but we are also funded directly by some of our partner institutions to provide courses for their members. We receive some local authority/EU funding as well. We raise additional funds through individual giving, corporate relationships and earned income.
