This peer support project is delivered in partnership with South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust to support Carers of people with mental health conditions.  This project will work to support Carers through one-to-one support, outreach, training and peer support groups.

About The Role: 

Using your lived experience of caring for someone with a mental health condition, and a strengths-based approach, you will support mental health Carers in their caring role.  You will provide person centred one-to-one- support, information, signposting, and advocacy, develop, and facilitate peer support groups and deliver training and outreach sessions at different locations across the borough. 

Key Requirements Include: 

• Lived experience of Caring for someone with a mental health condition 

• Knowledge and understanding of mental health and the associated challenges and support needs. 

• The ability to work within the principles and values of peer support. 

• Confidence supporting people on a one-to-one basis. 

• Experience of / ability to facilitate peer support groups and training. 

• Clear communication and good interpersonal skills  

• Efficient organisation and time management skills 

• Developed IT skills, with experience using databases and communication platforms.

The Programme Coordinator role

Hybrid working

This is a hybrid role. You will be working from home and join Team Together Days in a co-working space in London 2-3 individual days each month. These days are considered commuting days. About EFA

English for Action provides free, participatory, and empowering English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)  classes for migrants in London. Our classes are spaces to build community and support students to organise collectively around issues like employment and housing rights. Our work currently supports around 400 adult migrants across London. We’ve become a national centre of good practice for a radical participatory approach to ESOL, informed by the work of Paulo Freire, and we share this approach through training, research and partnerships. 

Organisation: We are a staff team of 8 people supported by a larger team of volunteers and 9 trustees. EFA promotes shared leadership and collaboration and we aim for our organisational structure to reflect this. In the last 4 years we’ve transitioned away from having a CEO to an executive team to oversee operations and decision-making. As a charity, ultimate responsibility for, and control of, the organisation lies with the Board of Trustees. 

Fundraising at EFA: We have one permanent fundraiser at EFA, who works two days per week on this area of work. The majority of EFA’s funding comes from charitable trusts and foundations but we are also funded directly by some of our partner institutions to provide courses for their members. We receive some local authority/EU funding as well. We raise additional funds through individual giving, corporate relationships and earned income. We are keen to explore new areas of fundraising and/or develop some of our less well established income streams.

With support from your manager and in consultation with the other regional Programme Managers, you will translate our annual programme strategy into a robust cross-regional implementation plan covering both programme design and operations and make tangible improvements to enhance efficiency and impact across our regions. You will also be responsible for ensuring that our programmes are delivered as planned, to a high standard in line with best practice and cohesively across regions, and that regional objectives and targets in the North West are achieved.

• Lead Action for Conservation’s work in the North West, ensuring that regional targets and objectives are achieved and supporting the expansion of our programmes and projects in line with our organisational strategy.

KCLSU is looking for a Student Voice Coordinator work within the Student Voice team to coordinate the development and delivery of representation practices, and embed these processes across KCLSU’s Community Engagement Department and our student voice partnership work with King’s College London. This will be focused on Student Futures, a large-scale transformation portfolio King’s College London is undertaking.

Student Futures aims to improve student experiences in key areas across the next three years. These areas include improving core processes and systems for education delivery; ensuring the university is able to provide proactive and personalised support for student wellbeing; and delivering a distinct, valuable extra and co-curricular student experience.
At times, the post-holder will also be required to support other King’s Transformation Office programmes, such as Campus Futures, which is overseeing the development of King’s campus spaces and facilities in the next few years.

This role is funded for the next three years, the planned timeline of the Student Futures portfolio, and is offered as a 3-year fixed-term contract.

Job Specification
ENHANCING REPRESENTATIVE PROCESSES
• Act as central point of contact for colleagues across King’s and KCLSU for centralising and sharing information about student voice and representation structures related to Transformation Office projects;
• Set up and oversee systems for the management of student representative data between KCLSU and various King’s project teams;
• Ensure that all areas of student representative recruitment, induction, and support are conducted smoothly;
• Record student attendance and other participation data to support evaluation processes and ensure appropriate remuneration;

The RSPB, Europe’s leading nature conservation NGO, is seeking a Director of Supporter Fundraising to lead the charity’s work in recruiting and stewarding the next generation of individual supporters to help address the nature and climate emergency.

The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) is a charity for the conservation of birds and nature, bringing people together who love birds and other wildlife, and who want to take action to restore the health and diversity of the natural world. The charity now manages and protects 160,000 hectares of land across the four countries of the UK.

Public support has been at the centre of RSPB’s work since its foundation as a campaigning organisation in 1889. With 1.1 million current members contributing over £95m to the charity’s cause in 2024, the RSPB has set itself a bold ambition to increase supporter numbers and net income from this core area.

Working closely with the Executive Director for Income and Conservation Investment and other senior stakeholders across RSPB, the Director of Supporter Fundraising will ensure that the organisation maintains and increases its income in membership, individual giving, legacies, in memoriam and community fundraising. The role will be responsible for a large team working to develop new strategies and to engage and grow a diverse supporter base, enabling the charity to inspire long-term support and active engagement with their work.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in growing a large and complex individual giving or subscription programme across multiple products and channels. They will also have demonstrable experience of leading successful organisational transformation to create long-term value, as well as of leading projects within a complex stakeholder or matrix management environment. Significant experience in individual supporter fundraising or consumer marketing through direct marketing techniques will be essential.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Avenues Youth Project is recruiting a part-time HR Manager who will work to manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle across our youth centre. This standalone HR position reports to the Chief Executive and will manage and continue to develop all HR practices and processes, working with the various managers to improve the quality of working life at The Avenues. This role is crucial in ensuring the organisation attracts, recruits, develops and retains high-performing team members.

Ideally you will have experience of working as an HR Manager, we recognise that some elements of the role can be learned. Therefore, this role could suit someone who has solid HR experience at an Administrator level but who is proactive and self-sufficient.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Recruitment

Lead on recruitment, including drafting job descriptions, conducting interviews, and managing the selection process. Pre-employment (including Enhanced DBS) and Right to Work checks.

Support managers in attracting and retaining staff who have the necessary motivation, values, skills and tools to deliver.

Design and conduct induction programmes for new employees so that they feel valued and ready to “hit the ground running”.  Regularly review content to ensure that it is fit for purpose. 

Development and Retention

Develop and co-ordinate supervision and appraisal processes to ensure consistency and high performance

Develop a skills matrix and identify training needs on an individual basis and across the organisation.  Be responsible for building the training programme, including rollout and delivery (either in-house, or via approved external providers) so that employees receive relevant training in a timely manner on a regular basis.

To run the next rounds of our 2½-years old Grantmaking Training program, we are looking for a Philanthropic Programs Director to continue finding, training, and advising funders in setting up their grantmaking for maximum impact. In addition, you will provide strategic oversight and guidance to the funders in our five funding circles, collectively distributing $5-10 million annually.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Philanthropic Programs Director, you will lead and keep developing AIM's Impactful Grantmaking training program and oversee our five funding circles. Your primary responsibility will be outreach, program facilitation, and hands-on philanthropic advising for the twice-annual 9-week cohorts of funders giving over $1M annually.

This is a fairly senior position with high stakes, a lot of potential for development, and outstandingly high potential for impact, and thus best suited to an individual with at a minimum 3-5 years of experience and some deep prior expertise in the philanthropic sector.

You will work closely with the Philanthropic Programs Manager in a two-person program team. You will decide collaboratively at the start of your tenure how to divide and/or share responsibilities in the categories below, as well as how to take care of operations and ad hoc tasks and projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Facilitation (~40%)

• Deliver program content in an engaging and accessible manner

• Develop weekly lesson plans and discussion topics for a 9-week program Zoom calls

• Conduct thought-provoking and productive 1:1 coaching sessions with participants for 30 minutes weekly throughout the program.

• Prepare for and run the weekly group calls going through topics covered in our foundation handbook

Outreach and Public-Facing Work (~30%)

• Conduct regular calls with philanthropists, advisors, and other philanthropic professionals to maintain a strong presence in the sector

• Serve as the initial point of contact for new funders interested in or referred to the program, effectively communicating its value without being overly sales-oriented

• Scope and test the best ways to find new prospective participants who would benefit from our program and cause a large amount of impact

• Ensure each cohort has a minimum of 5 participants contributing an average of $1M+ each annually

• Maintain visibility of the program in philanthropic circles through activities such as article writing and regular engagement on philanthropy listservs

• Represent the AIM Grantmaking program at a minimum of two conferences annually and at local philanthropic events in your area

Community Engagement (~15%)

• Foster relationships with our community of 30+ alumni and extended network of funders

• Provide strategic oversight and guidance to funding circle co-chairs, serving as a valuable resource and goal-setter

• Organise regular alumni catch-up calls for the entire community

• Collaborate on planning the grantmaker meetup component of annual AIM network in-person gatherings

Grantmaking (~0-10%)

• For the right candidate, there could be an opportunity to be personally responsible for regranting a sizable amount of money via our five funding circles across some of their five cause areas (global health & development, meta charity, mental health, animal welfare, and AIM seed network)

Program Operations Support (~10%)

• Contribute to iterative improvement of program content, adapting based on feedback, evaluation, and tailoring for the upcoming cohort composition

• Collaborate on revising the program handbook to better serve future cohorts and benefit the broader philanthropic sector

• Ensure the Philanthropic Programs Manager receives adequate management, support, and oversight to maintain program momentum

The ideal candidate will bring existing expertise in some areas while demonstrating a willingness to learn and excel in less familiar domains. You should consider yourself a philanthropy generalist to some extent, with the ability to quickly adapt and improve in new areas of responsibility.

The ideal candidate is a people-oriented mid-level to senior-stage professional (3-5+ years of experience) with extensive knowledge of philanthropy and a deep alignment with AIM's vision for a thriving, collaborative, effectiveness-focused philanthropic sector.

  • Ideal - prior experience interacting with key decision-makers in high-stakes contexts, either as a peer or in an advisory capacity. For example, this could be in a consulting, fundraising, or grantmaking capacity with HNWIs or C-level executives

• A skilled facilitator: Able to create and communicate content in engaging and effective ways. Notices when a participant is less engaged and bring them into the conversation, while able to smoothly direct conversations towards topics that are the most productive for the group and is confident interrupting people when needed.

  • Ideal - someone with experience in teaching, facilitation, or educating, particularly in semi-formal settings

• An altruistic team player: Enjoys collaborative project work and is adept at both giving and receiving constructive feedback. AIM and our programs and funding circles are all cooperative environments that place impartial impact above individual success.

  • Ideal - proven motivation to work in philanthropic, non-profit, or social domains, i.e., prior work or engagement with spaces aimed at improving the world

APPLICATION PROCESS

Our application processes aim to be highly predictive, time-effective, and informative for you. Our process consists only of stages that our best evidence suggests are predictive of success on the job (such as test tasks) rather than more common but less predictive stages (such as cover letters). We only invite candidates to the next stage if we think they have a good chance of passing it, and take care to choose tasks and interview questions that will also give you a good sense of the role and our culture.

Applicants will be asked to complete the following stages:

1. Submitting our general application form (30 minutes to 1 hour),

2. A general test task (2-3 hours) with the top 10 to 30 candidates,

3. An initial interview (15 minutes) with the top 10-20 candidates,

4. A test task simulating the work you would do in your role (2-3 hours) with the top 5-15 candidates,

5. A final, more in-depth interview (~60 minutes) with the final 2-5 candidates.

We will also conduct a reference check before making an offer. Each stage typically takes 1-2 weeks from the end of the application deadline, and we hope to make an offer within ~8 weeks of the application deadline. Tender works with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. Our programmes are safe, enjoyable, age-appropriate spaces where young people can engage with sensitive topics and “rehearse” for real-life scenarios. We enable young people to explore their choices, rights and expectations in relationships and to recognise the early warning signs of abuse. 

We have identified core audiences we are seeking to engage more proactively and more consistently to both spread the message of our work and to influence public policy and statutory commissioning decisions. We are now looking for a Communications Manager to drive this work and establish our position as an influential, informed and powerful voice for change.

You will work closely with the Development Director to develop and implement a cross-organisational communications strategy to maximise our reach and brand awareness amongst core audiences, leading in turn to increased funding and an impact on statutory and policy approaches to preventing VAWG. You will line manage our Senior Communications Coordinator and collaborate closely with the senior leadership team (SLT), who lead on our policy and influencing work. You will also support the Development team to better engage current and potential supporters and funders.

Bridging the gap between senior leadership and delivery, you will be a confident and strategic thinker, but remain excited by the challenge of getting stuck in. You will be comfortable supporting colleagues to deliver activity as well as working independently on your own projects. You will have the knowledge and experience to ensure that the right policies, frameworks and plans are in place for our small team to achieve ambitious plans.

The main purposes of the Communications Manager role are:

• Developing, leading and implementing Tender’s communications strategy, focusing on supporting our fundraising and building engagement with key audiences
• Accountability for Tender’s organisational profile, building profile and engagement through content creation with key strategic audiences, including the website, social media, and print and online marketing materials
• Accountability for the development and management of Tender’s own media channels, ensuring a consistent user experience and organisational voice
