Job Purpose
The Administrative and Marketing Assistant provides effective and proactive administrative support for the Outreach and Administration Coordinator, CEO, and the Oxford Food Hub staff team. They lead on marketing and communications activities, particularly social media.
The Administrative and Marketing Assistant is often the first point of contact for members of the public, charities, and other partners, handling enquiries and requests with efficiency, compassion, and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
Administration:

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
The Hospital IDVA (HIDVA) will be part of our dynamic, responsive and highly regarded HIDVA team, providing excellent trauma informed support, crisis intervention, advocacy and advice to survivors in hospitals and health settings, both patients and staff Impacted by domestic abuse.
The HIDVA will also provide advice and training to hospital staff and ensure robust referral pathways are established within the different departments.
We offer an out of hours phone service (Friday evenings and weekend days) together with on-site cover within the hospitals during important events where domestic abuse has been shown to increase, such as Christmas, Bank Holidays, Valentine’s Day and Football Tournaments. The post holder will be expected to participate in the out of hours rota, TOIL and flexible working to recompense for this, as well as overtime for bank holidays/ special events if required on site.
The HIDVA will be based in the Darent Valley Hospital, Dartford, and will be expected to visit other hospitals across the trust from time to time to attend meetings, deliver training and cover other team members. There is also flexibility to work from the Rising Sun main office in Canterbury to attend team meetings, supervision and training.
We are looking for someone with an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on women and children, who is experienced in supporting survivors with varying needs such as, drugs/alcohol, mental health, homelessness and patients with no recourse to public funds. Experience with Elderly People, Dementia Sufferers and their Carers or knowledge of midwifery would be desirable, although not essential.
You will report to the HIDVA Manager and receive training and an induction into both the hospital work and Rising Sun’s wider services. If unqualified, we will support you to complete a formal domestic abuse qualification.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support to Survivors
- Be present in the hospitals daily to respond to referrals or requests for domestic abuse advice and to meet with survivors.
- Ensure that survivors are aware of their rights and options and explain the effectiveness of criminal and civil sanctions available to them.
- Produce safety plans with the client, enabling them to assess and manage their own safety.
- Carry out needs assessments, including DASH (Domestic Abuse, Stalking and Honour Based Violence) risk assessment, to effectively deliver holistic, survivor centred support.
- Work in partnership with hospital staff, safeguarding departments and other services e.g. the police, housing, social services, mental health (amongst others) to advocate for survivors and complete referrals to ongoing support services where appropriate.
- Attend Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) meetings and refer service users to MARAC when appropriate.
- Assist clients in gaining access to solicitors, benefits agencies, housing departments, education, medical treatment, counselling, support networks, community groups, employment support etc.
- Recognise, respect and address the needs of survivors who face particular barriers when seeking access to services, including those from minority groups or with protected characteristics
- Safeguard the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk; working within safeguarding policies, Child Protection Procedures and local procedures for safeguarding adults at risk.
- Maintain accurate client records, outcome and monitoring data. Prepare information or reports for the monitoring and evaluation of the service.
- Complete daily ward rounds to raise awareness and identify any potential DA support needs for staff or patients.
- Participate in an out of hours rota, providing an on-call phone support service to hospital staff on Friday evenings and weekend days as timetabled.
Partnership Working and Training
- Promote the HIDVA service in the hospitals and build positive relationships with hospital staff, in particular safeguarding teams and clinicians.
- Attend safeguarding, mental health and frequent attenders meetings to screen patients for potential domestic abuse and provide advice to staff. Together with any other helpful meetings that may arise.
- Deliver training to staff in various health settings across Kent to raise awareness of domestic abuse, safe enquiry and appropriate responding.
General
- Maintain commitment to and work in line with the Rising Sun Framework.
- Uphold the rights of women, children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse, and proactively assess the gender specific, trauma informed needs and the safety of children and women to ensure that any risks/needs identified are addressed, having full regard to Rising Sun Safeguarding Children policy and Safeguarding Adults policy

Role Title: Interim CEO
Reports to: Chair of Trustees
Background: Leadership, strategy, governance, fundraising, operations.
Hours: 0.5 FTE. This is the equivalent of 2.5 days a week (18.75 hours) but there is mutual flexibility in the structure of how these hours are agreed. Some attendance at the programme in Kings Cross, London and at evening or weekend meetings will be required.
Salary: £50,000 pro-rata, equating to £25,000 per year for 2.5 days per week (18.75 hours per week). Reasonable programme-related travel expenses will be covered (this does not include accommodation).
Location: Hybrid working with some travel into London and other locations as required.

Strength & Stem is a charity and social enterprise that uses floristry to help female modern slavery survivors experience restoration and empowerment.
Our core programme, “Flowers for the Future”, is led by a small staff team and runs annually from May to January in Kings Cross London. Over nine months, participants complete vocational floristry training, prevocational and wellbeing skills training, mentorship, and work experience to increase their agency, strengthen relationships and wellbeing, and become prepared for employment. Alongside the steering group, the Project Lead will be responsible for recruiting a team of volunteers (and eventually staff) to expand the project, and will play a key role in awareness, fundraising, and support provision. The right candidate will be able to articulate a strategic plan, identify the steps necessary to make that plan a reality, and action those steps. They will need to be passionate about Men’s Mental Health and exude that passion into the project.
The right candidate will be able to juggle multiple responsibilities around service setup and delivery and forward planning, managing the day-to-day but also seeing the bigger picture. You will be good at working with others, ready to speak up and ask questions, be thoughtful and open to learning.

This is a varied and exciting communications role which sits in the fast-paced High Value Operations team in the Income and Engagement directorate. In the role, you’ll work closely with colleagues across the High Value Fundraising teams and beyond to lead on writing high value funding proposals, impact reports, event collateral and other impact focussed donor communications (£100,000+). You’ll be working collaboratively with teams across the organisation to gather the information you need to demonstrate impact for our donors – including major donors, trusts and corporate partners.
Working to briefs provided by fundraising relationship managers, you’ll use your knowledge of the organisation to create compelling and emotive narratives tailored to the donor, putting the stories of people affected by dementia at the heart of your proposals and reports. Your written work will engage supporters and encourage donations towards projects being delivered across Alzheimer’s Society. In the role, you’ll also review the written work of colleagues and feedback about how they can be strengthened in line with a set of quality principles.
Impact Comms is a close-knit, dynamic, virtual team who have the opportunity to get together face to face at least once a quarter. You’ll work closely alongside one other Impact Communications Officer and the two Managers in Impact Communications. And as part of the wider High Value Operations team, you’ll be empowering fundraising teams to deliver a first-class experience to their supporters.
You will:
- Have a proven track record in producing high-quality written communications, ideally for a fundraising audience.

A broad existing knowledge of the UK voluntary sector is required, while knowledge of working with high value audiences (charitable trusts, corporate partners and major donors) would be beneficial to the role, but not essential. Back Up is the only charity in the UK that has dedicated services for children and young people with a spinal cord injury.
When a child or young person sustains a spinal cord injury it is a life changing experience. Lots of things that seemed certain for their future, suddenly seem to be thrown into doubt.
Building confidence and independence after spinal cord injury is so important to a child or young person’s adjustment and wellbeing. Knowing what support and information is available, how to access it, and finding answers to questions are vital in helping to ensure that all children and young people have the tools to live the life they want after spinal cord injury.
Back Up does this by offering information, advice and guidance, fun courses, support in returning to education, mentoring, and opportunities for young people to come together and share their experiences through our Youth Advisory Group.

This is an exciting opportunity to help Cambridge City Foodbank (CCFb) realise it’s vision of ending the need for foodbanks by assisting the development and smooth running of our Fairbite Food Club network, in support of the Fairbite Development Manager. The Fairbite Food Clubs provide affordable food to those in need for a small membership fee, as well as a sense of community and wrap around support such as financial advice. Main Duties
● Liaise with Fairbite Food Club coordinators on a range of operational issues, such as stock needs.
● Order stock through a variety of routes, e.g. supermarket, fruit and vegetable suppliers, FareShare etc.
●Look into alternate supply chains, to ensure we are getting value for money.
●Assist with the day to day running of Fairbite Food Club Arbury, such as arranging the volunteer rota, training new volunteers, checking stock needs.
●Help with maintenance issues arising relating to the Fairbite Food Clubs, such as new equipment needs or arranging to get equipment fixed.
●Ensuring that Fairbite Food Clubs are compliant with food safety and health and safety regulations.
●Carry out various administrative tasks, such as issuing time credits to volunteers, inputting member or volunteer data, producing signage for shops
●Support the running of a Fairbite Food Club session, where needed, alongside volunteers.
●Other activities may be requested from time to time by the CEO, consistent with the job role and the needs of the Charity.
