We’re looking for an experienced Marketing and Communications Officer to join our Marcoms Team. Role Description
The Director of Programmes is responsible for providing strategic and creative leadership to develop high quality, effective and impactful programmes and products that reflect and meet the needs of the social sector.
Main responsibilities
- Lead the design, development and delivery of leadership and management programmes, ensuring that interventions are innovative, transformational and in alignment with Clore Social’s capabilities framework and model. This will include curriculum and module design, utilising own expertise and working in partnership with others to develop learning materials.
- Preparation for, and some facilitation of, peer learning, residentials and other programme events.
- Oversee the recruitment, moderation and engagement of Clore Social programme participants.
- Build and maintain a team of diverse and high quality consultants to deliver our programmes. This includes managing relationships and agreements with them and ensuring they deliver to Clore Social values and standards.
- Oversee the evaluation of the programme outcomes and impact and closely monitor feedback and other data in order to drive continuous improvement.

Hours and place of work
This is a full-time role to be fulfilled over a 35-hour week, within core working hours (Mon-Fri, 10am–4pm UK time), with flexibility as required.
This is a hybrid role with one day a week in our shared office space in London (Better Space, 127 Farringdon Road, London EC1R 3DA), the travel costs of which must be covered by the individual. We are open to discussing this arrangement further to accommodate individual needs and preferences.
Further UK travel will be required on occasion, the costs of which would be covered by Clore Social Leadership.
Terms, pay and benefits
- This is a permanent contract.
- Salary for this role will be £55,000-£60,000 p/a.
- The post holder is entitled to 25 days of annual leave, in addition to UK statutory holidays.
- The office is closed for one week during the winter festive period (25-31 December), providing an additional three days of annual leave in addition to the above allocation.
- You have the option to join our contributory pension scheme. The employer's contribution is 3% with a minimum employee contribution of 5%.

Chance to Shine is a national children’s charity. We change young people’s lives through cricket giving them the opportunity to play, learn and develop through the sport. We keep them physically active, teach them vital skills like teamwork, communication and leadership. And above all, they have fun.
Chance to Shine takes cricket to new places and uses it to ignite new passions, teach vital skills, unite diverse groups, and educate young people from Cornwall to Canterbury to County Durham.
Since 2005 our Chance to Shine Schools programme has helped reverse the decline of cricket in state schools with millions of boys and girls in over 13,000 state schools playing and learning through cricket. Chance to Shine Street supports young people in under-served communities to access and benefit from cricket in a free, inclusive, fun and fast-paced tape ball environment.
The Fundraising Team is tasked with helping Chance to Shine achieve its ambition, securing new funding partnerships and the stewardship of existing donors across a range of funding streams: Corporate, Events, Trusts and Foundations, Individual giving, and statutory funding to support the delivery of Chance to Shine programmes.
We are looking for an individual with experience of prospect research within the charitable sector, who can lead the prospect research, pipeline management, and information management function within the Fundraising team. The person in this role will have excellent attention to detail and a keen analytical eye to enable the fundraising team to succeed.
The role does not require an understanding of cricket but does require an enthusiasm towards changing children and young people’s lives.
Purpose of the role
We are seeking a Prospect Research Officer working 3 days / 22.5 hrs per week, who will work across the fundraising team to research and identify individuals, trusts and foundations, and corporates whose values and interests align with Chance to Shine’s mission. By doing so, you will be making a major contribution to growing the charity's high value supporter base; and to maximizing its engagement with existing and potential supporters.

Chance to Shine is a national children’s charity. We change young people’s lives through cricket giving them the opportunity to play, learn and develop through the sport. Since 2005 our Chance to Shine Schools programme has helped reverse the decline of cricket in state schools with millions of boys and girls in over 13,000 state schools playing and learning through cricket. The Fundraising Team is tasked with helping Chance to Shine achieve its ambition. Securing new funding partnerships and the stewardship of existing donors across a range of funding streams: Corporate Partnerships, Events, Trusts and Foundations, Individual giving, and statutory funding to support the delivery of Chance to Shine programmes.
We are looking for an individual with experience of fundraising, ideally with Trusts and Foundations, with a motivation to drive real change for children and young people. The person in this role will have excellent writing and research skills and enjoy relationship building. The role does not require an understanding of cricket but does require an enthusiasm towards changing children and young people’s lives.

Purpose of the role
The person in this role will work closely with the Trusts and Foundations Manager to develop tailored and compelling fundraising proposals to existing and new funders, matching donor interests with Chance to Shine programmes. They will carry out research to identify and prioritise new Trusts that align with our mission. They will support the Fundraising team in a number of ways including the maintaining of accurate records of applications, writing applications, reports, thank you letters, data input and analysis, and creating compelling cases for support.

Fixed term contract (FTC) whilst the partnership with the retailer is in place (2025)

2 days per week - with at least some availability on a Tuesday, which is our team ‘anchor day’

Salary for 2 days per week - £13,600 (FTE salary £34,000)

Reports into - Community & Education Manager

Able to attend BGP office in Finsbury Park, London, and nearby storage location

ESSENTIAL

Outstanding project management skills, able to manage this area of work to a high standard

Experience of managing a physical space such as a storage unit
-
Experience of managing logistics and stock control processes to manage a large amount of products safely and efficiently

Interpersonal skills - this role will need to build great relationships with the existing BGP team, our retail partner, community partners and volunteers

Able to understand and then adapt / build on existing processes

Volunteer recruitment and management experience

Strong analytical and Excel skills for logistics planning, reporting and data analysis

Management of third parties, such as delivery companies

Understanding of health and safety best practices (additional training will be available)

Able to manage a defined, delegated budget e.g. for packaging and postage

Experience of storage and despatch requirements specifically related to storage and transportation of period products and similar items

Experience in recruiting and managing volunteers to assist in manual tasks, such as packing up products for despatch
