The need for good mental health support is growing, as are our funding needs and ambitions. This newly created position of Relationship Fundraising Manager is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and collaborative fundraising team as we look to develop major donor fundraising further.

The role will be responsible for overseeing all individual donor relationships, with a focus on major gifts. This includes developing and implementing a major donor strategy, as well as assisting the Head of Fundraising with corporate fundraising. You will be encouraged to use your experience and skills to shape the role, making a difference to the lives of hundreds of people attending Oakleaf every month for support.

Position: Relationship Fundraising Manager

Location: Guildford, Surrey with hybrid working offered (min 40% office, 60% home as agreed); we will accommodate flexible working patterns wherever possible

Role overview

This key role manages our flagship and award-winning project supporting refugees with IT Hardware. The project collects IT Hardware, refurbishes and repairs it through our network of technicians, matches it with a suitable recipient through our referral process and then distributes it to charities and individual refugees and asylum seekers at no cost to the recipient. The project is in its third year, in which it will grow to overseeing e-waste collection and tech re-sale.

This role has two central arms: project management and volunteer management. 

Overall management of the project includes key decision-making on tech refurbishment and distribution, building and maintaining key partnerships, impact reporting, staff management, external representation, developing and recording institutional memory and supporting the project's strategic growth with support from the Director. The postholder will be responsible for working with their team to maintain the smooth running of the project and deliver the project outcomes. They will deputise for the Director where necessary.

Volunteer management predominantly looks like the recruitment, coordination, training and retention of technical volunteers, many of whom are asylum seeking graduates of our tech training course. The post holder will be the go-to person for the volunteers and provide technical and management support with the help of our Technical Lead.

Outcome 1 - Manage the Digital Access project and the team working to deliver its outcomes 

• Oversee the logistics and operations involved in collecting, storing and redistributing large quantities of IT Hardware, including the distribution of Data SIM cards to recipients with support from your team.

• Work with the Engagement Manager to identify and communicate with businesses, individuals and other sources of IT Hardware to explain our process and the impact of the project.

• Oversee the smooth running of and improvements to the referral process through which charity partners and individual refugees apply for and receive devices.

• Ensure the project goals are delivered on time and within budget.

• Provide thoughtful and kind management of the Operations Coordinator and Operations Assistant, meeting regularly and supporting their development.

• Record the institutional memory of the project through a digital guide to the processes and learnings which constitute the Digital Access programme. 

• Ensure everyone at Screen Share who engages with the project does so in line with our safeguarding and privacy policies.

Outcome 2 - Monitor, evaluate and communicate the impact of our device provision 

• Collate and present service user and device data (e.g use-case, age, geography) on a monthly and quarterly basis which represents our impact on the ground for internal and external audiences.

• Lead on the measurement of our impact through collection of case studies and distribution of our feedback form.

• Critically analyse and improve our impact measurement process to ensure it is ethical and fit for purpose.

• Work directly with service users, the Director and Communications team to produce compelling stories of the impact of Screen Share’s provision, with particular focus on our annual impact report.

Outcome 3 - Coordinate tech volunteers, external repair partners and technical staff (tech agents) to secure a regular flow of repair and refurbishment

• Oversee the process by which tech agents request and receive parts for the refurbishment process (hardware, software and tools).

• Work with our Technical Lead to ensure tech agents are provisioning devices consistently across our suite.

• Ensure the smooth implementation of changes to our technical provision.

• Critically analyse and improve the way in which the repair and refurbishment process is technically facilitated and recorded.

• Design and Deliver a tech volunteer retention strategy.

• Ensure our repair and refurbishment costs do not exceed our budget.

• Conduct in-person reviews with tech agents to monitor their progress and provide quality assurance. 

• Explain our process to prospective repair partners and onboard them onto our system.

Outcome 4 - Recruit, train and support new technical volunteers

• Design and implement a nationwide technical volunteer recruitment and retention strategy which establishes a regular flow of technical volunteers into Screen Share, including and especially volunteers from an asylum seeking background and those who have graduated from our training course.

• Facilitate tech volunteer onboarding including external references, interviews and safeguarding.

• Coordinate and lead monthly volunteer tech team meetings. 

• Explore partnerships with local tech businesses or refugees for paid refurbishment.

• Run basic laptop refurbishment refresher training for new volunteers in need of support.

Outcome 5  - Ensure Screen Share tech agent records are kept up to date

• Ensure the tech agent base is kept up to date at all times with all necessary details to facilitate refurbishment 

• Ensure contact logs are maintained for each tech agent in accordance with GDPR legislation and that holidays/preferences/issues are recorded

• Ensure the right staff can access notes on 1:1’s with tech volunteers 

• Analyse tech agent data thematically, implementing adjustments on a regular basis 

Outcome 6 - Contribute to the strategic development of the project and ensure the Director receives appropriate support 

• Represent the project to prospective partners, local councils and at public events, increasing its visibility within the refugee and tech sector.

• Design and implement experiments to test assumptions, minimise risk and scale the project.

• Deputise for the Founder and Director in internal and external settings where necessary.

The main duties of the role

• To work with the Impact and Operations teams to improve programme evaluation, including designing qualitative and quantitative impact and process evaluations.
• To lead the delivery of evaluations, including data collection, analysis and reporting.
• To act as an impact expert for the charity, using data and impact reporting internally and externally to develop IntoUniversity’s strategic goals
• To play a key role in the formal data and impact reporting for the charity including the production of Impact Reports and annual university reports, and ensuring the impact microsite is kept up to date.
• To prepare reports on the performance of the charity, collating data and presenting it in clear formats for a variety of internal and external audiences including: staff delivering the programme; Regional Operations Managers; the charity’s Senior Leadership and Senior Management teams; Trustees; Donors; University partners.
• To develop and maintain expertise in research and evaluation methodologies
• To keep abreast of research and policy developments in relation to the higher education and charity sectors.
• To lead on developing and delivering Impact training for new and existing staff. 
• To support the management of IntoUniversity’s Salesforce database including the maintenance of database records, creation of new features, producing and analysing reports, supporting and training staff in itsuse, and reviewing the effectiveness of the database as a monitoring tool. Salesforce training will be provided.
• To support members of the delivery team with Salesforce queries and requests for data and analysis.
• To represent the charity at relevant conferences and events.
• To undertake any task that may be requested from time to time that may be consistent with the nature and scope of this post.

A role for an experienced Property Manager who wants to make a signficant impact yet work less than full time.The postholder will develop, manage and deliver an ongoing property and estate management plan covering both repair, modernization and a preventative maintenance. The plan will cover the Foundation’s listed heritage buildings as well as its wider houses and estate assets. The postholder will play a pivotal role in the future planning for the uses of the whole site.

Role Purpose

The core aspects are:-

• Leading the property team (including 2 person maintenance team and volunteers) to ensure that regular maintenance and specific projects and programmes of work are resourced and delivered

• Managing the maintenance and conservation of the Foundation’s buildings (Care home, Court, almshouses, Old Hall, Temple House, residential properties and barns) and its wider site including the fabric, building services, engineering systems, utilities, equipment, and grounds.

• Monitoring and reporting on budgeted costs, spend and programme delivery; Preparing and proposing budgets

• Delivering a robust and proactive culture to meet statutory obligations in relation to Health & Safety, maintenance of listed buildings, contract management, etc ;

• Embedding and driving sustainability.

Main duties & responsiblities: 

Property

• Oversee maintenance, refurbishment and repair works to all Foundation owned properties;

• Support the development of a property management strategy to maximise income from the properties and an appropriate return on investment; (Note master planners are being engaged),

• Manage the contract with our Estate Management company;

• Ensure that all work is carried out in line with the listing of the buildings concerned and that relevant permissions are obtained;

• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, and devise and implement all appropriate policies, risk assessments and procedures

Management

• Manage the Maintenance team, delegating responsibilities, agreeing personal objectives and measuring performance;

• Manage, control and supervise the programmes of conservation, repair, routine maintenance schedules and ongoing refurbishment.

• Prepare forward plan of conservation and maintenance

• Ensure that there is a programme of regular maintenance & service of equipment and machinery on the Temple Balsall site.

• Develop and implement a robust Energy Management Policy. 

Stakeholder Engagement, Meetings and Committees

• Report to the Governors (Trustees) via the Master regularly on plans and progress;

• Represent the Foundation to expert property contractors and sub contractors.

Financial Management

• Produce, manage and achieve a realistic budget;

• Ensure value for money and high-quality work from contractors and suppliers, through tenders where necessary.

Contractors, Professional Advisors and External Liaison

• Participate in the selection , appointment and continual management of third party contractors, consultants, property agents, etc.

• Manage external contractors operating on site including all contracts, communications, risk assessments, quality and record keeping;

• Work with professional advisors, providing and exchanging necessary information on plans, costs etc;

Additional responsibilities

• Any other responsibilities as may reasonably be required;

• Ensure professional skills are regularly updated through participation in training and development activities

Person Specification

Education / Qualifications Essential: • Qualified in a relevant field of property maintenance / or management (trade professional or similar)

Desirable: • Degree in a relevant subject or discipline and/or Chartered Membership of an established professional association, e.g. CIOB, RICS or others

Skills/Aptitudes Essential:

• Able to demonstrate strategic vision for the Foundation’s buildings, wider estate and rental properties;

• Effective operational leader of the site-based maintenance team;

• Budget preparation and monitoring skills;

Skills / Aptitudes Desirable:

• Knowledge and experience of improving sustainability

Knowledge/Experience Essential

• Significant experience in property industry;

• Experience of maintenance programmes and refurbishment projects;

• Experience in project management, including management of contractors;

• Knowledge of legislation and guidance relating to the built environment

Salary: Up to £27,000 per annum for 21hours / week (= FTE £45,000), dependent on experience.

Job Summary

The National Distribution Centre (NDC) Manager role is key in ensuring a resilient supply chain for St John Ambulance. Responsible for the implementation and management of the systems, process and people working within the NDC warehouse. The NDC manager is accountable for ensuring that stock is received, stored, managed, and dispatched appropriately including quality control checks as required. The NDC warehouse manager is responsible for ensuring that all policies and procedures are complied with, and all required training is completed by the personnel working within the NDC. You will play a key role in the achievement of the revenue and sustainability targets by ensuring the robust inventory management and cost efficient use of personnel and contractors. 

About You: 

• Educated to GCSE level or equivalent (Grade C) including Maths & English
• Demonstrable line management experience in a busy warehouse or distribution centre environment
• Demonstrable experience of working in accordance with quality assurance standards and health & safety regulations
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Hold a full UK manual driving licence with a minimum of 1 years driving experience and no more than 3 penalty points

• Accountable for planning workloads to ensure that goods are received, processed, stored, and delivered in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, the charities processes and our customers and suppliers stipulated KPI's.

Our mission is to be the catalyst that positively transforms patient outcomes in Degenerative Cervical Myelopathy (DCM) through patient support, patient and professional education, global awareness, and worldwide research. As our Helpline Service Manager, you will lead play a crucial role in leading this mission forward. 

We are looking for a Helpline Service Manager to play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the project plan that will enable us to set up and establish the helpline, and to have the foundations in place to enable the day to day running of this helpline.

What you will do:

1. Manage the planning, delivery, and evaluation of a new pilot helpline in line with strategic and operational objectives.

2. Work to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

3. Recruit, train, and manage a team of volunteers.

• Significant experience in leading and developing large-scale, high-quality services, including ideally experience in helpline service management.
