We are hiring a part time Sanctuary Support worker to work in our crisis cafes. We have availability within Barnet and Enfield sites. The service is open 4.30-10pm Monday – Friday and 12.00 – 6.00pm Saturday and Sunday - 7 days a week
The Sanctuary (Crisis Café) is a service for all residents experiencing emotional distress, and at risk of developing crisis. The café is open 4.30pm – 10.00pm Mon-Fri, 12-6pm Sat & Sun. We provide helpling support, initial support meetings to immediately manage with the clients the distress they are in. We then coproduce support plans with clients and offer 121’s,support groups and workshops as well as a social and supportive place to be.
The support worker will be experienced in working with people in distress or who have mental health issues, highly organised and have excellent people skills.

About the role
As members of the Community Directorate we aim to reach out to and support people with Parkinson’s, their families, friends and carers. We enable the voice of people affected by Parkinson’s to be heard to improve services, inform our priorities and improve decision making locally.
Through community development we work in close collaboration with our Parkinson’s community to bring change on the issues that matter most to people affected by Parkinson’s.
You’ll provide high quality business support to the Northern Ireland Director and team.
What you’ll do:
- Provide administrative support to the Director of Northern Ireland
- Provide first point of contact for all internal and external stakeholders
- Organise online and in-person, internal and external meetings and other events, including booking venues and refreshments, assisting with the production of materials, fulfilling mailings and taking bookings as required
- Work across the team in Northern Ireland to ensure our records are up to date on all the current activities we and others support and that these are recorded on the local activity database
- Keep up to date with the directorate’s activities in order to provide clear, accurate information
What you’ll bring:
- Experience of team administration or supporting a senior executive
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and negotiate when required at all levels internally and externally.
- Ability to work co-productively with people living with Parkinson’s
- Excellent administration skills, including note-taking, presentation preparation and a positive, assertive and resilient approach to prioritising and juggling varying pressures and conflicting priorities
- Experience in coordinating multiple projects simultaneously that meet the business requirements

We are looking for an individual with an intelligence background who has a passion for preventing modern slavery and human trafficking (MSHT), creating and delivering intelligence products, has human rights, ESG, and/or financial crime knowledge. Our prevention program team also regularly interacts with individuals at high risk of being trafficked and therefore robust safeguarding is essential.
Our Intelligence Team research and produce our Exploitation Analytics service – a suite of reports containing actionable insight that our clients utilise to find potential bad actors operating within their transaction monitoring systems. Purpose: you will be the key resource within a small fundraising team, with responsibility for applying and securing funding to cover our core costs, as well as grant applications for specific community activities and building projects. As the only paid member of this team, you will take the lead in researching, applying for, and reporting on grant application progress with charitable trusts and other potential funders, in line with our fundraising strategy. You will also be a member of our Operations Team, which meets weekly to oversee the day-to-day efficient running of The Hub.
Contract: 2-year contract initially, subject to successful completion of a 4-month probationary period.
Hours: 8-12 hours per week, to be agreed upon appointment. Within reason, we are flexible about when these hours are worked throughout the week, although we would expect the successful candidate to regularly attend the weekly Operations Team meetings on Tuesdays, in person.
Background:
The Leatherhead Community Hub (LCH) was established in July 2020, as a dedicated community centre in North Leatherhead. LCH provides opportunities for people to come together socially and build community, as well as giving our partner organisations a permanent base from which to offer critical support and services to local residents, including the local Foodbank and Community Fridge. Our mission is to create a safe, welcoming space at the heart of the community, where people of all ages can connect, learn, have fun, and find the support they need to thrive. The Hub attracts around 3,000 visitors a month to our café and the many other community activities and events run by LCH, our partners and other local groups.
LCH has a yearly budgeted turnover of over £200,000 (2024/25), excluding funds raised for a major building project. Just over a half of this amount is from the café & tenant rental income, and the remainder is from grants & fundraising activities (including a 3-year grant from the National Lottery).
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Researching potential funding opportunities, with a particular focus on charitable trusts and local authority grant schemes. (Other members of the fundraising team will take the lead in fundraising from local businesses, schools, and churches).
- Submitting a regular flow of small and larger grant applications to meet core costs and match other identified funding needs, with support from the rest of the fundraising team.
- Attending monthly meetings with the fundraising team, including setting the agenda and updating the rest of the team on progress towards our fundraising targets.
- Maintaining a database of past, current and prospective grant applications, as well as digital copies of all grant applications, award letters, etc.
- Monitoring and fulfilling the reporting requirements of successful grant applications, ensuring that we are collecting information on outputs/outcomes set out by funders.
- Attending weekly meetings of the Operations Team, to keep in touch with what is going on at the Hub and identify future funding priorities.
Requirements of the postholder

Are you passionate about supporting people-centred and locally-driven approaches to learning and research? Are you experienced in community-based research, data collection and knowledge management?
We are looking for a Senior Learning and Research Analyst to join our International Programmes and Research Team. Supported by our Learning and Impact Manager and working alongside our Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Analyst and team of researchers, you will be responsible for consolidating and managing a central database and knowledge system that will underpin Peace Direct’s learning loop with specific emphasis on locally-led peacebuilding initiatives in Afghanistan, eastern DRC, Mali and Sudan.
This work is integral to our decolonised ways of working and will form an important part of our multi-year ‘Local First: Transforming the Peacebuilding System’ programme funded by the Dutch MfA.
This is a role for someone with a passion for peacebuilding and local leadership and a strong commitment to shifting power in the international system. You will have excellent analytical skills with experience of developing research, information or MEL systems in the international development sector.
Working in partnership with peacebuilders in francophone countries means the ability to work in French (proficiency level B2 or above) is a must and as such will be tested in interview. Added to this is the requirement for experience of processing qualitative and quantitative data using various approaches, including working with local knowledge systems, which will be highly valuable in this role.

About Lepra
Lepra is dedicated to addressing leprosy and lymphatic filariasis (LF) and their consequences through direct support, advocacy, and the promotion of inclusive communities. The primary objectives of this role are to lead the transitional phase of the GRITS, creating a detailed operational plan for its implementation; support the management of the existing research portfolio ensuring technical soundness, budget adherence and timely delivery; establish a sustainable pathway for research expertise to be led by in-country professionals.

Key responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Lead the transitional phase of the GRITS.
- Identify and address any gaps or challenges in the current strategy.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment and smooth transition.
- Support Programmes in the design of new projects / programmes by ensuring proposals submitted are technically sound and capitalize upon learning. Lead on ethical approval applications.
- Support Programmes in identifying, maintaining and growing academic / research -related partnerships, according to Lepra’s strategic interests and capacities
- Serve as a focal point for external research contacts that have an interest in people affected by leprosy and LF.
Operational Plan Management
- Develop a comprehensive operational plan for the rollout of the strategy.
- Establish the initial GRITS processes including the Go no Go; steering group established and functioning.
- Define clear timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Ensure the plan is realistic, achievable, and aligns with the charity’s objectives and resources.
Support Existing Research Profile
- Review and support ongoing research projects.
- Ensure all research activities are technically sound, within budget, and on time.

Pathway to Sustainability
- Create a sustainability plan to ensure research expertise is transitioned to and led by in-country professionals.

Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including donors, research institutions, and community leaders.

Monitoring and Evaluation
- Develop and implement a monitoring and evaluation framework to track progress and impact of the strategy.
- Regularly report on progress, challenges, and achievements to the Lepra’s leadership team.

Safeguarding
- Support the implementation of newly developed processes in relation to the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation & Abuse (PSEA) and Safeguarding (SG).
- Ensure safeguarding measures are integrated into all project activities.
Technical advisory
- Guide and advise on the implementation of leprosy and LF control tools and approaches, specific healthcare models and/or health solutions in partner countries, when appropriate and according to Lepra and donor standards.
- Provide strategic and technical advice on the development and roll-out of country programmes as well as the overall leprosy / LF programme in Lepra.
Monitoring, evaluation and impact
- Advise the programmes team on the development of appropriate results frameworks, objectives, outputs, indicators and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and support the analysis of Lepra datasets. Advise the HPMEL on analysis of Lepra datasets. Provide technical inputs to Lepra’s reports, according to Lepra’s needs.

The Role
What will I be doing?
- Provide key support to the Governance, Audit & Risk Manager on the IOP’s governance programme, including the organisation of Council Meetings and Core Governance Committee meetings, and the distribution of agendas and papers on the IOP’s Board Portal
- Be a key point of contact for the IOP’s Trustees and Committee Members, providing support and maintaining trustee information
