In our new Chief Executive, we are looking for an individual who will provide leadership and identify and secure new sources of income to enable the Trust to continue on a firm financial footing alongside managing our staff and engaging with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

· Provides the strategic lead & champions the work of the SFT to external stakeholders.

Person Specification

Essential

• Experience of working in an organisation with environment, conservation or heritage at its core.
• Operated as a CEO or senior executive, with proven leadership and change management skills.
• Detailed understanding of P&L, budgeting, balance sheets, cash flow, income statements.

· Excellent verbal, written and digital communication skills, with the diplomacy required to effectively manage a wide range of stakeholders.

Homemaker Southwest provides independent advice and support to people who require help in finding, setting up or maintaining accommodation throughout Devon.

As a Money Advice Caseworker, you will be responsible for delivering high quality support services to clients across Devon, by telephone and face-to face, to sustain tenancies and prevent eviction wherever possible, with due regard to Homemaker’s policies and procedures.

You will have experience providing money advice to individuals at risk of homelessness and contemporary knowledge of debt solutions and welfare benefits.

Important qualities include strong communication skills, the ability to work independently and empower others, and the capacity to simplify complex information for clients. While most appointments will be conducted over the phone, some clients will require in-home visits, so the job demands flexibility to travel and work from different locations, necessitating the use of a personal vehicle

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Work with clients

• Ensure that clients receive a prompt and professional service.
• Provide advice and assistance through a range of channels: face-to-face, by phone, or by email. Seeing clients in office and at outreach locations and visiting clients in their own homes as required.
• Receive and respond to referrals from identified agencies in accordance with prevailing guidelines/funding.
• Provide support to clients including preparing accurate financial statements, budgeting advice, progression of debt options, advising on court proceedings for debt recovery and repossessions, and income maximisation to ensure take up of benefits and options such as backdating, overpayment and sanction challenges, appeals and representation if required.
• Keep the client at the centre of every case; check the client’s understanding and communication needs, agree on an action plan with clarity on who is doing what, encourage the client to be involved with actions as appropriate, keep the client informed of progress of case, and ensure cases are concluded in a positive way.
• Communicate and negotiate on clients’ behalf with third parties as appropriate.
• Give support in the sustainment of any tenancy, as appropriate.
• Ensure clients understand the terms of any tenancy or other legal obligation entered, or about to be entered into.
• Take a holistic approach to issues presented and signpost/refer to other services to help ensure that the advice and other support needs of the client are addressed appropriately.
• ·Ensure clients are encouraged to give feedback on the service they receive and take on any comments on ways we could improve the service.

We support families across London, Surrey and Sussex whose children are facing cancer or a life-challenging condition. We’re there whatever the outcome, for as long as needed, so that no family has to cope alone.

The charity was founded in 2004 by our now Chief Executive and has grown enormously over that time. We currently have partnerships with 9 hospitals who refer families to us for our support, which ranges from therapies and counselling, to respite holidays and special family experiences.

Location: East Molesey office (opposite Hampton Court Station) with some home working

 Main Purpose of the Role

Momentum Children’s Charity’s fundraising team is highly ambitious, driven by our goal to help families of seriously ill children in London, Surrey and Sussex to keep moving forward. Corporate income currently comprises circa 18% of the overall income. But with our expansion in hospital partnership geography, and aspiration to provide support to more families in the future, the expansion of this income stream will be key to this growth.

Working with the Corporate Partnerships Lead, this person will enjoy helping to develop all facets of the corporate fundraising area, working with and forging relationships with businesses to develop opportunities, fundraising and charitable giving, provide outstanding stewardship and relationship management, as well as helping to research and grow a healthy, robust pipeline of new opportunities.

Are you interested in supporting people at immediate risk of rough sleeping and making a real difference to the lives of people experiencing homelessness in London?  

Rough sleeping data shows that migrants make up more than 50% of the people rough sleeping in London. The Migrant Accommodation Pathways Support (MAPS) service provides a rapid intervention to support clients who are migrants and rough sleeping in London to find a route into accommodation that is suitable and sustainable in the UK or elsewhere in the world. We are looking for someone to join our team as a Coordinator where you will:

• Work alongside our small team who aim to maximise resources and find creative solutions to resolve the issues faced by people experiencing homelessness.
• Be the first point of contact for professionals where you will provide advice and support on next steps to empower professionals to identify routes out of homelessness for their clients.
• Oversee the team’s caseload, supporting the team to identify and deliver effective routes off the streets for non-UK nationals.
• Lead on partnership development for the MAPS service in the UK and with services across the world, maximising accommodation options for non-UK nationals.

While your usual working hours will be from Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, occasional work during early or late hours may occur in response to challenging situations and to prevent rough sleeping. For this role staff can claim an additional 20% pay premium for hours worked between 8pm-8am Monday to Friday, and all hours worked on Saturday and Sunday. 

About you

We are looking for someone who can be flexible, creative and proactive and is passionate about working with migrants.

Due to the legislative context in which we work, accommodation options are often limited for our client group, therefore you will be able to demonstrate your adaptability and resourcefulness.

• You will have experience of working with vulnerable people, or people experiencing homelessness, and an understanding of the needs and support requirements of this client group, particularly non-UK nationals.
• Willingness to develop management skills and provide line management, support and motivation to staff.
• We are particularly interested in hearing from you if you have lived experience of migration and/or speak additional languages to English.

You will be coordinating the delivery of the new Community Action Groups (CAG) project in East Devon (see our parent project website, CAG Devon).

A CAG network provides community groups with the tools and support they need to thrive, such as support with governance, guidance, small grants, training and insurance, as well as opportunities for networking and sharing skills with other groups.

As CAG project coordinator for the East Devon area, you will be nurturing and supporting place-based community groups, so location is essential. The successful candidate must live in central or East Devon or be within a reasonable commuting distance of East Devon. Mileage will be paid for travel within the East Devon area.

You will liaise with the contract manager and the local authority representative and have experience and enthusiasm for sustainability, community development and grass roots activities. You’ll be joining a close-knit team, working with the CAG Devon Project Manager and Project Officer, and occasionally with our wider Resource Futures team.

What you will be doing

• Promoting the CAG Project across East Devon:
  • Establishing contact with communities and key people, through networking, attending and speaking at local events, writing posts, blogs and articles, and speaking to groups.
  • Contributing to the CAG Devon website and social media presence.
• Identifying the needs of local groups (with them), including the resources and plans needed to implement their community-based initiatives.
• Providing individual support to assist groups plan and implement their activities:
  • Guiding communities in the development of practical waste reduction and wider biodiversity and sustainability projects.
  • Providing advice on fundraising and project management for these projects.
  • Providing support to community groups and volunteers through identifying and organising appropriate training events, skill sharing sessions and individual support.
  • Supporting groups to engage with and make use of Resource CIT, CAG Devon’s current online monitoring and evaluation tool.
• Ensuring that the work meets the agreed objectives and targets of East Devon District Council and the objectives of the wider CAG Devon contract (with Devon County Council).
• Monitoring project progress and reporting quarterly on progress as well as compiling an end of year summary report, highlighting successes and making recommendations.
• Representing and promoting the project to external bodies as appropriate, acting as a representative for the wider CAG Devon project.
• Any other tasks as deemed appropriate to this post.

The Digital Healthcare Manager is a new and exciting role at the College. This role will lead the development of the RCPCH Digital Health programme, aimed at understanding the range of technologies in use by the membership along with the digital confidence and competence of the membership through analysis of survey data. This analysis will help to provide details of key digital solutions for the workforce. The Digital Health programme will also support the workforce to embrace and implement digital health technologies into clinical practice.

As Digital Healthcare Manager, you will lead activities related to the integration of digital health technologies into mainstream paediatrics by participating in relevant Committees and working groups and reporting to Project Boards on the programme’s progress against agreed timelines, deliverables, risks and issues.

Based within the Research and Evidence team and reporting to the Head of Research and Evidence, you will work with colleagues internally and externally to embed digital skills into the paediatric workforce as well as developing education and training resources for paediatricians, to help build capacity and capability.

You will also work with the Head of Grants and Partnerships to identify sources of funding to support future work within the Research and Evidence remit and work with communications colleagues to create and implement communication plans and resources/assets related to the RCPCH Digital Health.

With a degree or equivalent experience with a research, health science or digital healthcare

component, you should have experience of producing high quality written reports, documentation and promotional information suitable for a range of audiences.

You should have experience of collaborative ways of working across multidisciplinary teams and programmes of work and have the ability to manage competing demands and conflicts whilst maintaining productive working relationships with stakeholders.

With excellent organisational skills and the ability to adopt an orderly and precise approach to work, paying careful attention to detail and capable of following standard procedures and ways of working, you should also have demonstrable programme management skills, being able to work autonomously and take personal responsibility for your projects.

Knowledge of research methodology, including literature searching and data analysis, along with a project management qualification and an understanding of the education and training pathways of paediatric healthcare professionals would also be desirable.
