The Schools Project Officer is a crucial business administrative role at the Diocese, as you will act as the first point of contact for projects concerning the development and maintenance of school sites and buildings, from senior leaders, governors, parish officers or our professional advisers.

Reporting to the Schools Officer and working within the Children, Young People and Education team, you will support the oversight of related grant funding and manage other bespoke projects such as promoting decarbonisation initiatives for church schools and organising land registrations. You will also advise school leaders and governors in relation to school organisation and the use or development of land and buildings.

As Schools Project Officer, you will act as facilitator between various internal and external teams, providing support through monitoring projects relating to school estates (building developments, maintenance and repairs), whilst making proactive enquiries and interventions to sustain progress against recorded timescales.

You will also take responsibility for managing grants held by the Diocese and liaising with schools regarding suitable projects and available funding, helping schools to prioritise projects for effective estate management.

A crucial part of our strategy is to assess the environmental impact of the Diocese’s church schools, planning for and supporting schools to advance decarbonisation and energy efficiency projects. As Schools Project Officer you will regularly update and signpost church schools to banks of practical materials and resources for decarbonisation campaigns, toolkits and projects, building case studies of best practice.

With an understanding of or experience in business administration, estate management or project support, you should be capable of supporting projects and have the ability to apply understanding to tasks. Capable of summarising complex information clearly, you should be able to explain the progress of projects to those with no specialist understanding.

Forward thinking, adaptable and responsive to a varied work programme, you should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and have evidence of recent study, training or development and a willingness to learn new knowledge and technical skills.

It is essential for you to be supportive of the vision of the CYPE team and to be sympathetic to the contribution of Church of England schools to Christian mission.

The ability to travel and a willingness to attend occasional evening and weekend meetings and events is essential.

An understanding and awareness of Church of England structures and knowledge of the current educational landscape within the context of church schools, along with experience of budget management or creating financial reports would be desirable.

Are you ready to lead and develop this pioneering new project in partnership with the Office of Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner (OSPCC). Do you thrive on building trust and engagement with young people, school communities and families?

As the Breck Foundation's new Project Coordinator (Pan Sussex), with the support of the CEO, you will lead the initial project set up, the recruitment of schools and young people, followed by all training and coordination of the delivery.

The post holder will need to reside in Sussex and be required to work from home permanently but willing and able to travel regularly to various locations across East and West Sussex. Breck Foundation 

Breck Foundation is a unique and dynamic organisation that makes a real difference. The charity was founded in 2014 in memory of Breck Bednar, a 14-year-old boy who was groomed and murdered by someone he met online. We inform, educate and campaign to help young people and the wider UK public reclaim the internet from those who seek to harm others through it. Our educational programmes reach thousands of students, parents and safeguarding professionals each year.

The Project

Over the last few years, the Breck Foundation worked closely with Volunteer Police Cadet Units in Surrey and Tower Hamlets to train cadets as ‘Breck Ambassadors’, equipping them with the training needed to talk in schools to their peers about staying safe online and the key signs of grooming.

We are proud to take this successful project further having secured funding with the Office of Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner (OSPCC) to recruit and train up to 30 ‘Youth Ambassadors’ (for online safety) in schools across Sussex. The Youth Ambassadors will learn how to tell Breck’s story and empower young people with the tools they need to stay safe online. Working closely with schools to enable the students to become Online Safety Ambassadors for their school community, advocate for their peers and to be a voice of expertise and counsel. You will work with schools and community groups to generate impact through Breck’s story (on online grooming) and other important topics related to children’s online safety.

This flagship project for the OSPCC will launch in April 2025 (Coordinator starts in January 2025) and run for at least 12 months, with potential funding up to three years. We hope it will set a precedent for others to follow our lead and develop similar programmes for young people across the UK.

The post-holder will play a key role within the Development team, maintaining the integrity of the College’s alumni database that underpins every aspect of the team’s work. The post holder will shape and deliver the College’s prospect research strategy, managing the prospect pipeline and supporting the fundraising programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Update, enhance and improve the alumni database (Raiser’s Edge) on a regular basis, ensuring that information is entered consistently, accurately and in a timely fashion.
• Maintain the integrity of the database, including importing and exporting data to/from RE, managing and uploading current student and alumni data from the central University database (CamSIS), College publication returns, the internet and other updates.
• Liaise with Cambridge University Development & Alumni Relations (CUDAR) on a regular basis to exchange updated alumni details. 
• Work with the Director and Deputy Director to manage the prospect pipeline, including conducting initial research into potential supporters.
• Produce detailed alumni profiles and briefings for the Director of Development and the Master for key meetings and events.
• Accurately record all gifts, pledges and legacies on the database and ensure procedures are effective and up-to-date.
• Ensure Gift Aid agreements are correctly recorded and renewed as appropriate. 
• Prepare donors’ lists for Governing Body, Council and relevant College publications.
• Work alongside the Deputy Development Director to complete the Annual Development Questionnaire (ADQ).
• Conduct research to find lost alumni and re-establish contact via new address and email details. 
• Deal with returned mail in a timely and organised manner, and with email “unsubscribes” and bounce-backs.
• Handle the notification of deceased members by recording information on the database, liaising with family members regarding obituaries for inclusion in the College Magazine. 
• Help devise new systems and processes to enable the work of the office to be carried out with ever greater efficiency and effectiveness.

• Working with the communications team to organise World Jewish Relief’s participation at communal events and attend these events.
• Managing and leading on stewardship of World Jewish Relief runners in the London Marathon and other challenge event activities.
• Working with the fundraising and marketing team to launch and deliver a new fundraising initiative supporting World Jewish Relief's Home Repairs programmes in Ukraine.

You should have:

• Proven experience in event planning, coordination and delivery to a high standard, preferably within the non-profit sector.
• Demonstrable knowledge of event fundraising techniques and sector trends.
• Experience using a database (ideally Raiser’s Edge) to the highest level, both to record and analyse information.
• Experience in successfully managing numerous priorities at one time, meeting tight and non-negotiable deadlines.

Hope Health Action is a Christian NGO with the mission of empowering local communities to provide life-saving health and disability care for the world’s most vulnerable. Haiti was where we first began our work, founding a hospital, which went on to become a 100 bed facility that treated over 35,000 patients every year. We are now one of the leading healthcare providers in northern Haiti, with a national reputation and a wide network of local and international partners. 

Historically, most of our funding has come from UK and European trusts and foundations, and while we are keen to maintain and build on this, we are also keen to maximise the opportunities available to us as a US 501(c)(3) charity and expand our portfolio of US funders. We seek a skilled grant writer to help us navigate and access these opportunities, ensuring our projects receive the support needed to continue transforming lives. Having operated at a senior level, ideally as part of a Senior Leadership Team, you will be an inspiring leader with a demonstrable passion for our cause.  Experienced in successfully managing service transformation and development, including in a contact centre environment, you will also have an understanding of grants programmes, and of building strategic partnerships and national networks.  With an understanding of demonstrating and reporting on impact, experience of supporting fundraising for services and bidding for contracts, you will ideally also have knowledge of developing an external training offer.

John Lyon’s Charity is delighted to be recruiting for a Grants Manager to join its dynamic Grants Team. This is an exciting time to join the Charity as it embarks on a new chapter of our strategic objectives in grant giving. The Grants Manager will be responsible for their own portfolio of grants as well as supporting the Grants Directorate with the development and execution of the Charity’s strategic objectives to maximise the benefit of the Charity’s funding.

The Grants Manager will be responsible for end-to-end grant-making; assessing applications, making recommendations and monitoring of a portfolio of grants. The grants will be broad in range from smaller, single year grants under the School Holiday Activity Fund to multi-year, large grants within the Open Grants Programme. The role holder will work closely with other members of the Grants Team, including the Directors, to support learning, develop special initiatives and contribute to the creation of policy and processes. The role will suit someone with previous grant-making experience who is seeking to develop their expertise in place-based grant-making and/or the CYP sector. Given the nature of the existing portfolio, experience of working with cultural organisations and education settings would be a particular benefit.

Refugee Council is seeking an experienced philanthropy specialist to develop and grow the Refugee Council’s Philanthropy relationships and programme and deliver an ambitious Philanthropy strategy.

Refugee Council is a leading charity supporting refugees and people seeking asylum to rebuild their lives in safety here in the UK.  Providing practical, hands on support, their award winning services include welcoming refugees into local communities across the country, providing specialist children’s services – with a particular focus on refugee children who arrive here alone, helping people to navigate the asylum system, and supporting people to access housing and employment.  Evidence from services is then used to also inform the charity’s leading policy and influencing work, including campaigning for a fairer and kinder refugee protection system.  The charity works with more than 14,000 men, women and children every year.

As a result of growing need and increasing interest in Refugee Council’s work, the charity has ambitious plans to make a leap in impact, with investment in their Philanthropy Team to raise increased funds from key high value audiences.

This role will be a critical part of the Philanthropy & Partnerships Team and presents an exciting opportunity to grow Refugee Council’s established Philanthropy programme. The role will be responsible for delivering and creating bespoke development plans, supported by engaging cultivation and stewardship activities to secure increased funding from existing and new donors. It will also be a key point of contact for key Major Donors and high-profile supporters, patrons and ambassadors.

The position offers the opportunity to work alongside an engaged and well-connected Senior Management Team, supported by the Head of Philanthropy & Partnerships and a highly regarded and experienced Philanthropy Consultant to make the charity’s ambitions a reality.

To succeed, candidates will have experience of running a Philanthropy/major giving programme, with extensive experience of managing their own pool of donors, as well as a track record of securing five and six figure donations from high net-worth individuals. You will have extensive knowledge of the Major Donor landscape and your fundraising skills will be matched by your strategic planning and leadership abilities.

Refugee Council will provide the most moving and diverse case for support. Cases that encompass innovative external affairs campaigns aimed at engaging policy makers and the public.
