Your Role in Our Mission:
- Partner with senior stakeholders to shape, develop, and implement impactful business strategies.
- Advise, challenge, and connect with leaders, embedding yourself as a key member of their teams.
- Champion commercial thinking, providing analysis, insight, options, and scenarios that influence key business decisions.
- Lead performance management, from forecasting to budgeting and business planning.
- Support the wider team to deliver exceptional business partnering for our Delivery and Fundraising directorates.
What You’ll Bring:
- Proactivity, enthusiasm, and a drive for collaboration.
- Experience in a finance partnering environment, ideally part-qualified or qualified by experience.
- Strong communication skills to engage both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

About the Role
Contributing over 50% of the organisation’s fundraised income, this role is crucial for Help for Heroes. Working with your team, you’ll be responsible for the organisation’s legacy marketing strategy and administration, as well as the in memory giving strategy, maximising both income sources so that we can deliver more services to veterans. You will be able to make a significant impact and will use your expertise to drive forward the programmes. There’s lots of scope and potential for someone to make a real difference and achieve considerable success!
About the Team
The post holder will be working as part of the Individual Giving team in the Commercial Directorate which includes Supporter Care, Individual Giving and Legacy & In Memory. Across all our relationships, we build trust and engagement with our supporters and with each other. The quality of how we deliver our objectives is just as important as the end results. The role: As Programme Manager, you will be responsible for the Project Management Office function (PMO), coordinating and governing our projects focussed on delivering Mary’s Meals International’s (MMI) strategic objectives. You will govern all our projects to success within the programme, and manage key stakeholders, providing regular updates on the programme.
As a Project Management expert with good experience of Agile methodologies, you will have the opportunity to support and guide project managers and stakeholders in best practice and ensure a strong focus on stewardship, service and simplicity.
Responsibilities:
- Personal responsibility for managing and delivering key programmes, projects and products.
- Develop consistent standards, procedures, templates and guidance for successful project delivery.
- Work alongside others to coach, define and implement the governance framework for projects.
- Work with functional owners and project & team managers to create strategies for effective project planning, monitoring and delivery.
- Ensure that MMI’s Agile delivery methodology is embedded and deployed across the programme.
- Run Steering Committee Meetings or support Project Managers to run these meetings.
- Meet regularly with stakeholders to understand and review organisational objectives and project requirements, developing strong relationships and demonstrate great stakeholder management.
- Inform projects when strategy changes and help them re-baseline.
- Seek continual improvement of the PMO and organisational approach to project and product delivery.
- Effective management of PMO staff.
- Strive to identify areas for process and organisational improvement and make recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Contribute to organisational growth through the creation and sharing of knowledge, lessons learned, and best practices from previous project experience.
