The Role

The Marketing and Communications Manager role at SEO London presents an exciting opportunity for a proactive professional to work in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Strategy Development and Execution

· Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that aligns with the organisation’s mission, vision, and objectives.

Business-to-business marketing

Brand Management and PR

Accountabilities

Social Media Management

• Input into a review of SEO London’s social media plan and engagement tactics.

Awards Management Unit (AMU)

The Pricing Advisor works within IRC’s Long Term Funding Team in the Business Development (BD) team of the Awards Management Unit. The BD Team leads IRC's public business development, working with country programs and technical units globally. The team raises funds to achieve IRC ambitious impact goals. Alongside a wide humanitarian funding portfolio, we prioritize growing ‘Long Term Funding’ through contracts and awards from priority donors, including USAID, FCDO, and other key multilateral and government donors. 

Purpose of the Role

The Pricing Advisor serves as a budgeting expert and will be the pricing lead for many of IRC’s most important and large scale public funding opportunities. 

The role provides essential guidance, technical assistance, quality assurance and hands-on support throughout the business development lifecycle, ensuring a delicate balance between cost recovery, risk mitigation, price competitiveness, and compliance with internal policies and donor regulations.

The Pricing Advisor specializes in working with IRC's ‘Long Term Funding Donors’ including USG, FCDO World Bank, GAVI and AFD. The Pricing Advisor may also be asked to work on opportunities for other donors in IRC’s portfolio, including European Union and other donors when required. 

As a key member of proposal teams, this position collaborates closely with IRC Country Offices, Finance Department, and Technical Units to facilitate the development of cost proposals. 

Responsibilities

Capture & Program Design

• Serve as the ‘Capture Pricing Lead’ to ensure IRC is well prepared to develop an effective budget proposal for important funding opportunities 

• Conduct research and evaluation of cost drivers specific to each country to understand cost proposal development challenges and opportunities to improve pricing strategies within the predefined clients’ needs and regulations.

• Aggregate all available budgetary details at the activity level, encompassing all anticipated interventions and necessary support provisions, into clear rough estimates. 

Pricing Strategy & Budget Development

• Lead Budget Development and/or provide quality assurance or backstopping for budgeting for major proposals.

• Review released solicitations to assess whether cost-related considerations might hinder the development of a competitive, compliant, and viable bid

• Provide pricing expertise to the donor budget proposal process to ensure proposals are of high quality; reflect the needs of the solicitation and include the necessary shared costs.

• Ensure the proposal team understands the financial requirements and donor regulations of the bid, by clearly communicating what is required and providing guidance and support as needed. Identify all key financial and commercial risks and proactively propose a tailored mitigation plan and adjustments as necessary.

• Drive and/or ensure that pricing inputs from IRC Country Offices, technical or other contributors are integrated effectively. Lead all aspects of detailed cost, and technical queries in anticipation of submission timelines.

• Maintain, expand and apply technical knowledge in USG, FCDO, World Bank and European Union by attending educational workshops and trainings, reviewing the latest donors’ regulations and policies and market trends

• Offer guidance and strategies for creating intricate budgets, presenting cost-related aspects efficiently and effectively, developing payment by results structures and fee payment schedules

• Develop comprehensive donor budgets in line with internal and external requirements, ensuring that all cost drivers are adequately considered, drawing input from different collaborators.

• Engage with and provide technical guidance to partners, and integrate all partner pricing inputs into the consolidated budget, budget narrative, and overall cost application

• When required, develop or adapt budget development tools, guidance and materials for existing and new donors and contractual mechanisms

• When required, conduct cost reviews of selected proposals

• Ensure adherence to IRC's standard processes and policies, as well as compliance with solicitation requirements and client policies across a variety of opportunities and donors. 

Strategic Pricing and Capacity Building

• As a donor budgeting expert, the Pricing Advisor will be invited to contribute to wider organizational initiatives to improve pricing approaches and capacity in the organIzation. This may include, the development or review of pricing tools, templates or strategies. 

• Support training and other capacity development initiatives to strengthen organizational donor pricing approaches

• Participate in learning initiatives, including After Action Reviews to ensure IRC continuously improves its pricing approaches.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

• Demonstrable experience developing cost proposals. Demonstrable experience developing cost proposals for grant and contract types including Payment by Results approaches and fee rate structures.

• Demonstrates in depth understanding of USG, FCDO or EU financial rules and regulations; is able to identify donor-specific risks and design cost proposals in a way that mitigates those risks.

• Flexible work attitude: the ability to work in an inclusive team environment, independently and ability to meet unexpected demands.

• Demonstrates ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues in ‘remote’ and complementary teams.

Compensation:

Posted pay ranges apply to US and UK-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.

The IRC offers a comprehensive and highly competitive set of benefits. The Casework Supervisor role is for an experienced solicitor who wants to work in a dynamic and innovative legal organisation which prioritises staff wellbeing and high quality client care. People with lived experience of migration are strongly encouraged to apply.

Job purpose and responsibilities

The central objectives of this post are:

1. Supervision of Immigration and Public Law Casework: Working with the Legal Director to supervise the Immigration and Public Law casework provided by RLS in the UK through legal aid and other funding arrangements; and ensuring full compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks.

2. Team Management and Supervision: Working closely with the Legal Director to help lead  and manage RLS casework teams in the UK and internationally, to help ensure the delivery of high-quality casework that meets project goals and objectives; and the development of high-quality legal information materials and other legal resources.

3. Contract and Regulatory Compliance Management: This includes responsibility for the management and delivery of: 

(i) RLS's Legal Aid Agency (LAA) contracts, including maintaining Specialist Quality Mark (SQM) standards, financial compliance and ensuring Peer Review standards are met:

(ii)  LAA billing processes for both controlled and licensed work

(iii) OISC and SRA compliance

1. Personal Casework: Have personal conduct of a limited but strategic caseload, contributing to the overall objectives of RLS.

2. Strategic Litigation Development: Collaborate with the RLS Legal Director to identify emerging trends and issues in immigration and asylum law, and develop strategic litigation aligned with RLS’s mission.

3. Sector Support and Development: Provide second-tier support to other immigration advice organisations, leveraging RLS's expertise to enhance sector capacity.

4. Legal Aid and Pro Bono: To contribute to development and improvement of procedures and protocols for our innovative legal services which aim to combine multiple funding sources to sustainably contribute to addressing the increasing shortfall in the legal representation available for the people RLS works with. 

General duties:

• Supervision of RLS legal casework in the Immigration & Asylum and Public Law category to the highest standards

• Maintain such financial records and financial information as may be required by inter alia the LAA

• Conduct file reviews as per RLS’s Independent File Review procedure, OISC and SQM requirements

• Together with the RLS Legal Director, identify developing immigration and asylum law issues / themes and develop strategic litigation in line with RLS’s mission

• Ensure LAA contract quality and financial compliance, including responsibility for oversight of LAA billing (both controlled and licenced work)

• To act as RLS’s Quality Representative; and as result: 

• Be responsible for ensuring caseworkers and casework procedures are up to date and compliant with the SQM requirements

• Act as point of contact with the LAA; and 

• Overseeing any actions arising out of LAA audits, reviews or visits.

• To fully comply with and ensure that all casework teams and processes are also fully compliant with OISC (and SRA) standards of regulation, professional conduct and ethics at all times.

• Work collaboratively and supervise pro bono volunteer lawyers.

Team work

• Work effectively with other RLS legal and non-legal staff and contribute to broader organisational initiatives and those involving legal information and community legal support in particular

• Attend and contribute to regular and incidental team meetings and discussions

• Maintain and develop excellent relationships with frontline agencies and grassroots groups to enable effective joint working

• Attend training internally and externally as agreed with the Legal Director and maintain and make available to RLS, a record of all training undertaken and CPD points obtained

• Deliver training for colleagues or externally as and when required

• Undertake other duties which may be regarded within the nature of the post, in discussion with the Legal Director.

• Be a solicitor qualified in England & Wales with around 3-5 years of experience (or more) as an immigration caseworker, paralegal or solicitor within a legal aid environment

• Be IAAS accredited and hold an up to date accreditation (senior caseworker and supervising senior caseworker  level)

• Have immigration casework and supervision experience sufficient to meet  the relevant Legal Aid Supervisor standards as specified in the 2024 standard civil contract here and eligible immediately to satisfy the LAA Supervisor Standard for both Immigration and Asylum, and Public Law

• A comprehensive understanding of all relevant regulatory and quality standards, including SRA, SQM, LAA Immigration Specification, OISC Code of Standards, and Peer Review Process Document Criteria

• A dynamic and innovative self-starter

• A highly organised individual

• Fluent in English

• A strong commitment to upholding the human rights of people who migrate and people at risk; and access to justice and empowerment through the delivery of high-quality, client-focused legal services

The Event Sales Manager is the main contact for all hires enquiries about our fantastic 7 studio spaces, 2 theatres and café Bar.

The Event Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales, managing client relationships, supervising the event planning process.

No one day is the same at Brixton House. The versatility of the building enable us to host a wide range of events such as Meetings, Screenings, Conferences, Music Gigs and Book Launches.
 
Sales

- Achieve monthly sales targets
- Secure returning hire bookings
- Create and implement sales strategies
- Look at upselling opportunities across the venue including food and beverage packages
- Develop contacts with relevant cultural, commercial and social markets to increase sales opportunities – especially locally 
- To answer all enquiries in a timely manner with accurate information

Impatience Insiders’ job is to get these people organised, educated, and mobilised on terms that work for them, and turn shame and disillusion into action and progress. Our ambition is to fill a gaping hole in civil society organising infrastructure and create a permanent piece of the civil society landscape.

By 2030 we aim to see the ‘insider movement’ model mainstreamed as a vehicle for private but collective activism for corporate insiders. We are looking for someone with at least six years of professional experience who is: 

1. Confident in supporting bold movement building and encouraging people towards action;

2. Able to work delicately in high trust environments; 

3. Able to work collaboratively with partners; 

4. Energised to search and recruit for Insiders from a ‘cold’ start (e.g. building new relationships on Linkedin, etc.); and 

5. Able to help build the ecosystem which we are a part of.

We are definitely looking for an all-rounder and do not have a particular experience set in mind. We expect to get applications from people from a range of backgrounds including those who have worked in large professional services firms, civil society building, community organising, programme management, financial services, social entrepreneurship, consulting or public affairs. 

We will be looking for people who have had to build things from scratch and are used to working with diverse stakeholder groups and holding a strong sense of purpose.

The essentials:

1. You care deeply about the social and environmental challenges the world is facing and can see how industry can play a critical role in impacting these issues;

2. You are a confident project manager - you must have a knack of keeping things organised and on track, being able to write clearly and distil information; 

3. You are a keen researcher who likes learning about new topics and presenting information back in written documents and briefings;

4. You are committed to facilitating and organising in ways that support diversity, equity and inclusion;

5. You have some facilitation experience and are comfortable building trust with individuals as well as holding space for confidential and sensitive conversations in groups. You have experience of supporting people to work through challenges and differing opinions to get to points of agreement and action;

6. You are happy researching and approaching potential partners, Insiders, etc. without warm introductions and building a new community around this work;

7. You are able to work independently with only light-touch support, self-start and manage competing priorities and multiple groups of stakeholders.

Helpful but not essential experience/skills: 

1. A background and experience of working within food systems; this could be through having worked hands-on on farms, in the public sector on agriculture policy, on corporate sustainability strategies, or through a master’s degree; 

2. A background in project management, public affairs, and relationship management;

3. A background in movement building, community organising, facilitation and/or advocacy;

4. Experience in fundraising and partnership building;

5. Experience in sales, recruitment, hospitality and/or training;

6. Experience of working in and pushing for change in large organisations.

You will have a few key aspects to your work: 

1. Own and organise the Insiders group. This will include seeking new members to expand our Insider group, while retaining current members by ensuring meetings and work are relevant, interesting and beneficial for members;

2. Work with partners to turn insider insights into campaigns to influence change within the sector;

3. Help plan and deliver the UK’s first ‘Insider Summit’ where we bring together people doing insider work across a range of industries and forms;

4. Seed and support new insider groups;

5. Help develop the methodology for insider group development;

6. Build relationships with potential funders and pitch for further core or project-related funding; 

7. Project-manage external agencies that are conducting delivery work for each project, from conception through to delivery and dissemination with civil society organisations, government, media and/or investors.

For the right person, this will be an amazing experience that allows them to learn as they lead work and accelerate into a space where their knowledge and insight is directly impacting progress towards transforming the UK food system and other industries.

It is often a role experienced fundraisers progress to but will suit a person with the right transferable skills. You may have experience of major donors in another fundraising role, or perhaps you’re an animal-loving fundraiser, sales or business development professional with a strong track record of understanding clients and listening to their motivations.

You need to be an effective and inspiring relationship builder, well organised, an excellent communicator, attentive to detail, and able to think on your feet. A love of animals, a passion for animal welfare, and an understanding of the special human-animal bond would be highly desirable for this role.

It is an exciting time to join the fundraising team at Raystede as we enter our third year of building our partnerships programme. You will work closely with the Corporate and Trusts Fundraisers, as well as the wider team, including the Community and Individual Giving teams.

You will also be working closely with our animal care teams on animal welfare related projects as well as our estate teams, trustees and senior management team.

We are growing our income generation to meet the challenges on behalf of the animals in our care who do not have a voice of heir own. The role of Major Donor Fundraiser is crucial to ensuring our supporters are engaged deeply with our cause, through strong stewardship and cultivation activity.

The Major Giving programme is well underway, and you will be supported to deliver excellent stewardship and design a personal stewardship programme. Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, you will have autonomy, be encouraged to take an innovative approach to stewardship and be supported to continue your professional development.
