The Office Manager role is crucial to our very busy and friendly office of 14 people and is incredibly varied and interesting. The role requires someone to be friendly, flexible and adaptable, with strong communication skills, a hands-on attitude and the willingness and initiative to work with the whole team doing a variety of different tasks to achieve a common goal. You will be highly organised and be prepared to take on information in many forms and quickly translate this into action. You will be comfortable working with deadlines and priorities, managing your own workload and the expectations of others. It is an incredibly rewarding role for someone who has the passion and commitment to help the Foundation address inequalities and to tackle poverty and inequality at a local level. No two days will be the same.
- You will need excellent communication skills, as you will often be the first point of contact for all enquiries, including grant applicants donors, and room bookings.
- You will support the fundraising and programmes team with running events and resident panels.
- You will be responsible for ensuring that the building is safe, well maintained and accessible to all staff, tenants and visitors, including sourcing and managing contractors.
- You will support the finance and fundraising teams with data entry and reporting, purchasing and reconciliations.
- You will also have the opportunity to delve into special initiatives, such as supporting our strategic objectives around Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), the use of AI and environmental action.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn about the voluntary sector, particularly learning about trusts and foundations and grant making, as well as developing skills in a variety of admin functions, such as databases, finance, premises and health and safety.
You will also have the opportunity to meet the organisations we fund and work with as well as actively contribute towards our pledge of meeting the ACF’s Funder Commitment on Climate Change and our DEI Strategic workplan (available on request). This will allow you to develop your skills at the Foundation, ranging from project planning, communication, finance, and customer service. You will also have an opportunity to work with our Fundraising and Communications team to help engage a range of supporters. Training will be provided for all your duties.
The role is ideal for someone either with existing office management experience or someone with administrative experience who is keen and ready to step up in their career, to take on more responsibility and join a small, friendly and dynamic team based in Islington. You would research potential funding partners, write grant applications, and manage successful partnerships, including trusts, foundations, corporate groups, and statutory sources. Some charity-sector fundraising experience is desirable.. The ability to draft inspiring narratives for different audiences, as well as creating programme budgets using spreadsheets are crucial aspects to this role.. You would research and attend relevant events and identify other such opportunities to promote Pragya’s work, to network, and to learn about the latest research and trends in international development. You would contribute to Pragya’s social media posts, campaigns, and the charity’s administrative needs. A basic lf knowledge of video editing and media tools like Canva would be an advantage.
The UK branch of Pragya is a small team; the ideal candidate would be a self-starter, capable of managing their own work load. The energy Science Engagement Fellow has a key role in managing, developing and promoting the RMetS Energy SIG and its deliverables to build the Society’s engagement with the energy sector.
This exciting role enables the successful applicant to engage with non-academic stakeholders to build multidisciplinary partnerships, develop engagement skills and experiences, enhance their profile with stakeholders and leading academics, and grow their research impact.
The position will work closely with the Science Engagement Committee, Science Engagement Manager and the other part-time Science Engagement Fellow on sector engagement initiatives, as well as other activities that are part of the RMetS’ Science Engagement Strategy.
Responsibilities
- Provide expertise and guidance to the Society on the UK energy sector in relation to weather and climate. Identify the sector’s needs and how best RMetS can provide support now and in the future.
- Project manage and develop the RMetS Energy SIG and its deliverables. This could involve producing and commissioning content such as blog posts, events, briefing papers and peer-reviewed journal content, for specialists and non-specialists, with guidance from SIG members.

About the role
We’re looking to recruit a Teaching Community Manager to join our education team, harnessing the power of education to help shape a positive and sustainable future for our planet.
As Teaching Community Manager, you will help teachers, students and schools to play a direct role in addressing climate change and biodiversity loss through education, practical action, campaigning and influence. The overall purpose of this role is to lead the development and delivery of CSE’s Future Generations programme. This work programme focuses on ensuring that all young people feel inspired and able to play a meaningful role in catalysing and delivering the transition to a more sustainable and fairer energy system.
Pay and conditions

Specific responsibilities
An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:
- Programme leadership - To lead the continued strategic development and coordination of the Future Generations Work Programme across CSE; to ensure that all staff are able and encouraged to engage young people in their work; to maintain a portfolio of youth focused projects which provide opportunities for young people to develop capabilities for effectively participating in the energy system transition.
- Development – To pro-actively lead the development of innovative and impactful project ideas and funding proposals for the Future Generations programme, and work with the Development and Communications teams to build and manage the relationships, evidence, and plans necessary to secure investment.
- Representation – To provide inspiration and practical guidance both internally and externally (through targeted public speaking, network-building and online media) for the better inclusion of future generations in sustainability and resilience planning; aligning the Future Generation’s programme with CSE’s strategic objectives and fostering a culture of innovation, ownership, and excellence.
- Team and project management – To take responsibility for the planning and overall delivery of Future Generations projects: ensuring that the Future Generations team is well-resourced, highly motivated, and continuously developing their skills, and that project teams are well-led, efficiently coordinated, effectively using CSE systems and processes, and able to deliver work on time, to budget and to client/donor expectations. Provide mentoring to junior members of the LACE team and provide effective and timely senior management support to contribute to overall team wellbeing and cohesion.

We’re looking to recruit a Research Intern to join our Conversation Programmes team and help shape a positive and sustainable future for our planet. As Research Intern, you will help us build out a knowledge database of case studies with real life examples of where environmental crime converges with financial crime. This will involve being part a small team that is responsible for delivering, updating and developing a recently launched new tool that aims to support financial institutions to better manage and mitigate the risks of deforestation and land conversion, as well as other environmental crimes and the related predicate offences, which could be potentially tied to their operations. Your role will be to review, update, translate and categorise case studies that will be uploaded onto the Environmental Crimes Financial Toolkit platform. The toolkit already has a case study database, but we want to expand the scope and scale of the cases available. The case studies will be in both Spanish and English. It is also important to be able to review, understand and categorise these case studies depending on environmental crime type.
