About the role
We’re looking to recruit a Chief Advisor for Climate Change to join our Science team and ensure that we are viewed as a science and evidence-based organisation with conservation programmes and communications that are always informed by the latest scientific thinking when covering the issue of climate change.
As Chief Advisor you will be responsible for leading our scientific understanding of climate change and providing strategic direction to the breadth of work undertaken by the organisation. Specifically, you will focus on the interface between land-use change/habitat degradation and climate change. This would include, for example, the links between climate change and extreme weather events, the risks and consequences of a 1.5C overshoot and global tipping points. This will involve keeping ahead of, and influencing, the external debate and ensuring we are engaged with, informed of, and can use, the latest climate science reports from the IPCC and other relevant UK and international institutions. You will also contribute to the development of policy positions, maintain external networks and support fundraising initiatives.
We’re looking for someone with:
· A relevant qualification (a PhD is beneficial), and/or equivalent experience in this field.
· Experience as a senior adviser or lead specialist in the subject of climate change.
· Good grasp of current science covering climate change and in policy agendas, nationally and internationally.
· Ability to translate knowledge into policy, communications & programme design.
· Excellent communication, influencing & interpersonal skills.
· Desire to embrace and encourage collaborative working.

The salary for this role is £56,297 to £65,000pa. We also offer a full benefits and rewards package including:

What you’ll do
The Corporate Climate team works to pressure some of the world’s largest companies to act on climate change and transition away from fossil fuels. We do this by working with investors, through a combination of public campaigning and private engagement, and encouraging them to use their shareholder rights for change.
Working with the Senior Research Manager, you will produce research and analysis on high-carbon sectors and companies, their business strategies, their climate impacts, and how they can decarbonise. Our research needs are varied, from technical deep dives into new technologies to quick-fire briefings on companies’ new climate targets. To separate facts from greenwashing, an eye for detail is a must.
You will work closely with the Campaign Manager and Communications team to promote our research to investors and public audiences. You will also contribute to other climate-related work inside ShareAction and manage relationships with a range of civil society organisations across the climate movement.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting and leading research on a broad range of topics at the intersection of climate change, the financial system, and a number of industry sectors. Our current focus is on European chemicals, but future work may include work on real estate, energy, and the food system.
- Producing reports, briefings and ad-hoc research for a range of audiences, including investors and the media.
- Supporting the climate campaigns team to prepare for meetings with companies and financial institutions.
- Working closely with our internal communications team to coordinate press and social media around publications and collaborate with other teams across the organisation as needed.
- Liaising with external audiences and developing/maintaining relationships with civil society organisations and financial institutions.
- Identifying new developments and trends in the external environment which may provide opportunities for our mission.

You will:
- Have experience of leading or being part of a research project.
- Have a good understanding of how climate change affects companies in a range of sectors and an awareness of how climate change creates risks for financial institutions.
- Have strong analytical skills, being able to quickly grasp new, complex subjects and pull out relevant insights.
- Be comfortable analysing, manipulating, and presenting quantitative information.
- Have excellent written and verbal English and be able to communicate complex topics to a variety of audiences.
- Be able to plan, manage and deliver your work to agreed objectives and timelines, balancing competing priorities and reprioritising when needed.
- Be a natural collaborator and team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Desirable
- Any experience working as an analyst in financial services or industry experience in energy, heavy industry, the food sector, or real estate.
- An understanding of companies’ financial reporting (being able to read balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements).

About the Role
As a Business Development & Partnerships Manager focusing on Climate Change, Environment, and the Private Sector, you will play a key role in driving income growth and establishing strategic partnerships. Reporting to the Director of International Programs, you will lead on identifying funding opportunities, writing high-quality proposals, and building relationships with key donors and partners, such as Global Affairs Canada, IDRC, and private sector organizations.
Your work will focus on climate-resilient WASH programming, integrating gender equality, and contributing to WaterAid’s 10-year strategic plan to position the organization as the leading global WASH partner in Canada.
About the Team:
The International Programs team plays a critical role in WaterAid Canada's mission by driving business development and strengthening our partnerships with institutional donors, civil society organizations, and government agencies. As a member of this team, you will participate in and represent WaterAid Canada at select conferences, meetings, and networking activities. You will also contribute to planning and executing symposia, technical workshops, and panel discussions to enhance engagement with stakeholders. Additionally, you will represent WaterAid Canada on relevant working groups within the WaterAid global federation, while supporting the Director of International Programs with various related tasks and assignments.
Responsibilities
- Build and nurture relationships with government agencies, institutional donors, and private sector partners to secure multi-year program funding.
- Lead proposal development processes, including writing and coordinating concept notes, results frameworks, and budgets.
- Identify funding opportunities and maintain donor engagement through research, relationship management, and effective communication.
- Provide technical input on climate-resilient WASH programming, integrating gender equality into all program designs.
- Represent WaterAid Canada at conferences, workshops, and events to promote WAC’s programmatic approaches and values.
- Support regular donor and partner prospecting and mapping aligned with WaterAid’s strategic goals.
Requirements
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in international development, environmental studies, climate change, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in business development, grant writing, or fundraising, ideally within the WASH, climate change, or environment sectors.
- Strong knowledge of Global Affairs Canada’s Results-Based Management framework and experience securing multi-year funding from institutional donors.
- Demonstrated skills in proposal writing, budgeting, and partnership management.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Ability to travel internationally 3–4 times per year.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Fluency in French.
- Experience living or working in low- and middle-income countries, particularly in Africa or Asia.

About You
We are seeking an expert on international nature and climate policy and practice, including on global treaties and negotiations, to lead our growing international work programme at The Wildlife Trusts.
We are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable strategic lead to oversee our international work programme across The Wildlife Trusts. Reporting to the Director of Climate Change and Evidence, the postholder will lead on developing our linkages to international treaties and programmes on nature and climate, including the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, Convention on Biological Diversity and IUCN. The postholder will help to link our work at local and national level through to the global context. They will provide dedicated support to the Chief Executive, Deputy CEO and Senior Leadership Team in providing advice, giving strategic direction and managing our relevant work programmes, as well as developing our comms work on international climate and nature.

Climate Campaigner: Fossil Fuels
The Climate Campaigner will be an essential member of EIA’s Climate Campaign team, focusing primarily on advancing a managed, equitable phase-out of fossil fuels. This role centres on supporting the expansion of the Beyond Oil and Gas Alliance (BOGA), working to enhance its structure, broaden its membership, and identify effective pathways for developing a global governance framework on fossil fuels.
The Climate Campaigner will oversee the daily operations of key aspects of the fossil fuel campaign, ensuring the campaign strategy is delivered effectively and within established timelines. The role involves close collaboration and coordination, both within EIA and with external partners in the EU and globally.
About you:
Essential:
- undergraduate degree or equivalent in a relevant field along with an understanding of climate change science and the role of fossil fuels
- Experience in advocacy and campaigning on global environmental policy is essential along with experience in conducting detailed targeted research projects and tasks
- An understanding of UNFCCC/UN General Assembly and UNEA processes and experience in engaging and influencing diverse stakeholders, including policymakers, industry groups and the media is essential.
- Strong communication skills
- Professionalism and ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to digest and integrate technical, scientific, policy and legal information as well as to relate it simply and persuasively to non-expert audiences

What we offer:
Location: Hybrid Working – offices in London Islington 2 days per week (3 or 4 days a week during induction and probation period) and home working. Some travel may be required as part of the role.
Hours: 40 hours per week, including a paid hour for lunch
Salary: £37,000 - £40,000 depending on experience
Contract Type: Fixed term contract - 12 months, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability.

Our undercover investigations expose transnational wildlife and forest crimes. The Degrees Initiative is a UK-based NGO that builds the capacity of developing countries to evaluate solar radiation modification (SRM), a controversial proposal for reducing some impacts of climate change by reflecting sunlight away from the Earth. Degrees is neutral on whether SRM should ever be used, but we believe that developing countries should be empowered to conduct their own research and to play a central role in SRM discussions. The initiative has been working in different forms for over a decade and our work receives worldwide coverage and widespread acclaim.
Degrees’ programmatic work builds capacity through research grants, workshops, and community-building—all across the Global South. The initiative has been steadily growing since becoming a charity, and we plan on continuing to expand. Over the next few years, Degrees will offer grants to research teams in new countries and disciplines, support the scientists as they develop into regional leaders, and keep building a global community of experts.
The Staff Scientist position offers a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to move into or advance in the nonprofit sector while helping scale-up the organisation’s work. They will get to work with some the world’s leading SRM experts both inside and outside of Degrees and play a central role in building an initiative that is changing the field of SRM.
Job purpose
The Degrees Modelling Fund was launched in 2018 and has grown into the largest SRM research programme in the world. It supports almost 150 scientists across the Global South as they model how SRM could affect the climate in their regions, and they are becoming influential leaders in the SRM conversation.
This is a good start, but our plans are much more ambitious. We now want to support the Southern teams to move to the next level in their development. National projects will evolve into regional research programmes—in Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America, for instance. These regional programmes will inform policy processes by writing reports and policy briefs. Centralised downscaling and bias correction will reduce the barriers to SRM research across the Global South, allowing more countries to do their own SRM research and increasing existing teams’ output.
Degrees’ new Staff Scientist will be central to this. As an expert in climate impacts modelling, they will help the teams develop regional research projects. They will support Southern scientists to get access to the data that they need, will advise Degrees on how we can best support Southern SRM research, and develop new work streams as needed. In all of this, the Staff Scientist will work closely with the 26 modelling teams that Degrees supports across the Global South, plus our range of partners and volunteer research collaborators. In this, their work will be central to the next stage of Degrees’ development, helping to ensure that developing countries have the evidence and expertise to evaluate SRM and to play a central role in research and discussions.
About the position
The position will appeal to someone with a strong academic track record who is looking to use their skills and training outside of academia—for an organisation that is looking to use research to change the world, rather than just for research’s sake. Because the right candidate may not wish to leave academia entirely, the position may be less than full time, which would be negotiated (but not less than 60% time at Degrees).
Specific responsibilities include:

Plan and implement the new lines of work, above, and to develop new ones in cooperation with other staff members, Degrees-funded researchers, and volunteers;

Organise and facilitate regionalisation workshops approximately each quarter;

The Foundation for International Law for the Environment (FILE) was set up in 2018 to be the major philanthropic re-granter scaling up legal action globally to tackle the climate and the biodiversity crises.
We work as movement enablers, campaign strategists, and impact funders, using the law in pursuit of three interconnected system-level goals:
- Reducing net greenhouse gas emissions to protect the climate
- Safeguarding nature
- Delivering climate and environmental justice
We pursue these goals not just by supporting legal action directly. We believe in growing the strength of the climate and biodiversity legal movement globally, and in enabling people and movements to use legal action to shift narratives.
As movement enablers, campaign strategists, and impact funders, we at FILE do not ourselves bring litigation. As a regrantor, FILE is not an endowed foundation, but rather we engage in fundraising to secure resources to support our partners globally.
The Role
The Grants Coordinator will play a key role within the Grants Team, a growing team at FILE. This role will work closely with the Grants Managers and Heads of Grants across key FILE portfolios to ensure that programmes and partnerships are delivered at pace and to schedule. Whilst initially this is largely an administrative role, it is an opportunity to gain an insight in the workings of an international philanthropic organisation focused on systemic change through partnerships with a variety of outstanding legal strategists and NGO partners.
As Grants Coordinator, you ensure the quality of FILE’s grant-making processes and provide support to the Grants Managers and Heads of Grants during the entire life cycle of a grant. Key Responsibilities
