You will need to have experience within a HR environment, with an understanding of general best practices and ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.

You will be able to build relationships at all levels of the organisation, have excellent interpersonal skills and adapt to a variety of tasks which will require good planning and organisation skills.

About the Role:

As a Group Work Practitioner, you will be delivering a range of group work courses and programmes to adults affected by crime in the Thames Valley. You will be required to manage your own caseload and work in collaboration with other service delivery staff within the Thames Valley Adult Victims Service.

The Thames Valley Adult Victims Service will provide emotional and practical support to adult victims of any crime. Support will primarily be delivered through specialist group work provision, alongside online and telephone support.

You will be confident in co facilitating the delivery of group work programmes to people with a range of different needs and will have strong empathy skills. You will need to be able to talk to groups of people and will be resilient and confident with supporting others, as well as happy to work as part of a team.

You will need to have the ability to prioritise work and deal with competing or conflicting demands/ needs and interests in an organised and methodical manner. Have an understanding and knowledge of, and an active commitment to promoting equal opportunities and diversity. Knowledge of confidentiality and safe working practice in accordance with safeguarding legislation, General Data Protection Regulation and other legal requirements.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Policy and Insight this role is a central part of MSSC understanding its impact and driving change across the youth and maritime sectors.

The Data Analyst leads on the coordination and delivery of organisation wide key performance indicators (KPIs) while working to support the organisation’s wider evaluation and research work. The Data Analyst is embedded into the wider organisation and there are exciting opportunities to support other staff and volunteers to access and use data, as well as understanding how to transform data recommendations into practical change. The role suits a keen analytical thinker, who revels in opportunities to collect and understand data and then see their recommendations bear fruit.

Responsibilities

The following is a list of the principal tasks of the Data Analyst and is not intended to be an exhaustive list:

· To gather correlate, and monitor relevant data from across the organisation (e.g. Westminster) and from external sources (e.g. ONS)

· To evaluate our existing data processes and make recommendations regarding the streamlining of data collection and presentation

· To develop and implement new data collection, and analysis systems and processes where required

· To lead on regular KPI reporting

· To support the head of policy and insight in developing evaluation processes across the organisation

· To support the head of policy and insight, in identifying, and collecting (including leading on elements of research independently) appropriate data for influencing work

· To provide practical upskilling, training, and support to teams and directorates who need to engage in self-serve data analysis and research

· To develop and utilise new ways to present MSSC data to engage key internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

· Experience of handling diverse datasets of varying quality

· Experience of translating findings from a range of different audiences both internal and external

About the role:

The Advance Specialist Prison & Probation Advocate will support women within the prison setting, provide pre-release support, focused on Accommodation, Finance, debt & benefits, Family & significant others and Social inclusion including ‘through the gate’ support.

This exciting new role will be based in HMP Bronzefield and will support in developing referral pathways for women and work in partnership with different departments and services within the prison as well as those in the community. You will co-design an action plan with women accessing support, enabling you to support them to address their accommodation, finance, debt and benefits and health needs and any risks in relation to the interventions identified, as they prepare for release. The role will involve a combination of casework-based approach with delivery of programmes and courses, along with a signposting and advice service for the women in custody.

You will have demonstrable experience and understanding of working with women in a challenging multi-agency environment, ideally working with prisoners and/or their families.

You will build strong relationships with the Pre Release teams to ensure clients are able to maintain or access suitable accommodation, finance, benefits and debt, family and social inclusion support including negotiating terms on behalf of the women. Ensure that interventions are responsive to and meet the needs of women from diverse and minoritised backgrounds. This, together with referrals to wider partner organisations in the community, will ensure additional support needs are addressed post-release and continuity of support exists.

A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential

About You:

To be successful as the Advance Specialist Prison & Probation Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:

Knowledge and experience of the criminal justice system obtained through academic study, experience of working in the criminal justice system (or closely associated social system).

The ability and experience as a caseworker delivering gender specific and trauma responsive interventions which support resettlement and rehabilitation of female adults in the criminal justice system whether in the community or in prisons.

You will possess excellent organisational skills, excellent communication skills and be able to work in a prison environment whilst remaining calm.

Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of managing a caseload including maintaining and updating records, remaining focused on action plan goals, and keeping to deadlines

You will have the ability to complete trauma informed, support and action plans in collaboration with the woman; to support in addressing their multiple and individual needs and enable them to engage with services, which will result in timely and prescribed outcomes being achieved.

Size of Wales is looking to recruit an experienced and organised individual to strategically plan and implement all of Size of Wales’ communications whilst developing innovative ways to reach new audiences and maximise digital fundraising and marketing opportunities. This role will cover all areas of Size of Wales’ work. This includes tropical forest projects, education and advocacy.

The Role

The Communications and Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of all of Size of Wales’ communications activities, including press and other media relations, campaigns, social media, website, newsletter, and videos. This will involve engaging with the Size of Wales team (around 13) and partners in Wales and countries overseas in South America, Africa and South-East Asia, to create inspiring and innovative content. Communication methods within the team are varied and include, for example, emails, virtual, hybrid or in-person meetings etc.

The digital fundraising element of the role will involve finding new and innovative ways to reach new audiences, increase supporters, and raise the profile of our campaigns and programmes, whilst exploring and maximising exciting digital fundraising opportunities. The role requires good Welsh language (oral and written).

The Communications and Digital Marketing Manager will, in collaboration with the education team, support the development of Size of Wales education resources and make them available to schools, teachers, young people and the general public. Working closely with the education team, the role will be to support the education programme engaging with communities and co-leading our annual awareness campaign. This may include video case studies, blogs, social media coverage of the programme, marketing and publicity and public engagement.

The Communications and Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for the following:

Strategy

● Updating and/or developing the vibrant communications strategy and plan for Size of Wales, including joint communication plans with key stakeholders on the Welsh Government funded Mbale Tree Planting Programme

● Working closely with the Director and Deputy Director, to develop and deliver a digital fundraising strategy that supports Size of Wales’ aims and maximises income from a range of sources

Media

● Managing relations with Welsh and UK press and media, including news distribution and feature placement

Website and social media

● Maintaining and improving the Size of Wales bilingual WordPress website, such as regular content updates from forest partners

● Education resources maintained on Size of Wales website and the newly designed child-friendly area of the website

● All aspects of Size of Wales’ social media communications (including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn) in both English and Welsh

Resource and content development

● Leading the design and development of promotional material such as banners, posters and leaflets

● Preparing (including gathering content from the team and preparing content) and sending out our newsletters, blog pieces, and engaging material to our mailing list and regular givers

● Leading on digital design and template creation e.g. reports, invites and case studies

● Supporting the design and production of education resources

● Leading on and managing Size of Wales’ digital fundraising appeals such as Festive Trees

Safeguarding and Inclusion

● Implementing safeguarding best practices and ethical storytelling across all our communications work

● Ensuring that all communications are accessible and inclusive of all and embed antiracism and anti-oppressive practices in all that you do

Regulation

● Managing and maintaining Size of Wales' mailing lists, including ensuring that the correct procedure has been adhered to for opting in or out of receiving information from Size of Wales and ensuring compliance with data protection regulation

● Ensuring all data, including personal, team, partners and donors, is maintained and processed in compliance with the data protection rule.

Monitoring and Evaluation

Management

The role currently does not involve staff management but may include line management of approximately 1 or 2 members of staff in the future, some budget management and work with volunteers.

Selection Criteria

● Substantial and demonstrable experience of working in communications, digital fundraising, campaigns and marketing roles, including some experience in planning and executing media and communications programmes and running digital appeals or a higher qualification such as a degree.

● Experience of, or willingness to learn digital fundraising. 

● Good written communication skills and the ability to spot and communicate a powerful story simply and in an engaging way. Understanding of the principles of ethical content gathering and storytelling.

● Good standard of written and spoken English and Welsh

● Good digital design skills or ability to oversee design work

● Good organisational skills, including the ability to manage and prioritise own work and work on any direct reports without close supervision

● Strong IT and digital skills, including Google, social media platforms, mailing list databases and the creation of short videos

● Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to represent Size of Wales at events and establish and nurture strong external partnerships

● Good teamwork skills, able to build and nurture good relationships with colleagues

Independent Age is the national charity focused on improving the lives of people facing financial hardship in later life. We believe no one should face financial hardship in later life.

Our Helpline and expert advisers offer free, practical support to older people without enough money to live on. Through our grants programme, we support hundreds of local organisations working with older people across the UK. 

We use the knowledge and insight gained from our support services and partnerships to highlight the issues experienced by older people in poverty and campaign for change.

Responsibilities and Person Specification:

This role will play a critical role in delivering and developing our UK wide Advice and Support service, ensuring it works seamlessly with our outsourced Helpline and delivers real impact for older people in or facing financial hardship. You will also work closely with the Director to inform the future design and delivery of these services. 

You should have experience of leading and managing a similar high volume, multi-channel remote service with demonstratable success in identifying and implementing service improvements. 

You will have a deep understanding of issues affecting older people in financial hardship in the UK and an understanding of how Advice and Support interventions can improve lives.

This role could either be contracted to our London office, or homebased. Regular travel to our London office will be required, regularly if homebased, and a minimum of once a week if contracted to the London office. The ability to travel across the UK, including to Scotland, is also required.

The role  

THS is looking to recruit a dynamic, ambitious and confident Fundraising Manager to work with the Chief Executive to develop and implement our income strategy. 

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Fundraising Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be a core member of the team, developing and delivering the income stream for the charity with fundraising strategies that support THS’ mission.

The role will report to the Chief Executive and will be responsible for driving forward all aspects of fundraising, including building corporate partnerships, individual giving, major donors, trusts and foundations, legacies and community.

Main Responsibilities: 

Fundraising Management and Development 

• Work with the Chief Executive to develop and implement a balanced and realistic fundraising strategy, which builds on THS strengths and maximises income for the charity. 

• Deliver an integrated fundraising programme, which includes corporate partnerships, individual giving, major donors, trusts and foundations, legacies, community and events. 

• Ensure all fundraising activity is compliant with GDPR and relevant fundraising regulation and that all data is accurate and maintained efficiently. 

• Work with colleagues across THS to proactively identify fundraising opportunities in line with our ethical fundraising policy and procedures, prioritising relationships where our values are aligned and we can achieve the biggest positive net gain. 

• To maintain and develop the donor CRM platform including building supporter journeys to enhance donor experiences and maximise income for the charity. 

• Work with the team to ensure that all opportunities to promote THS and develop our fundraising and supporter engagement experiences are explored and maximised. 

• Manage all aspects of finance and reporting relating to fundraising, including annual budgets, monthly reporting and re-forecasting. Provide monthly reports and updates on all fundraising activities and income streams 

• Work with the communications team, internal colleagues and external stakeholders to create impactful storytelling and supporter engagement opportunities to maximise revenue streams.
