The independent gender violence advocate will work closely with victims of gender-based violence from the point of crisis, to provide high quality independent advocacy and support to survivors of gender-based violence at the highest risk and their children.

The role will be part of increasing the ability of partner agencies to recognise, reject and respond appropriately and safely to all forms of gender-based violence (including domestic violence, sexual, financial and emotional abuse, female genital mutilation, forced marriage and honour-based violence). The post holder will empower survivors by providing them with emotional, practical and personal welfare support. The job involves ensuring that women are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment, enabling them to access their rights, make decisions and increase their life options. 

The job involves working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors. The job involves informing survivors of the full range of civil, criminal, and practical options that might increase their safety. 

This post is restricted to women due to the nature of the role. The Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.

This is a new role to be based in the UK supporting on raising funds/resources for our overseas operations. Requirements

To be successful, you’ll need:

• A postgraduate degree in environmental studies, climate change, or water governance.
• 5+ years’ experience in international assistance, policy analysis, and advocacy.
• Proven ability to engage with civil society, government agencies, and donors.
• Strong expertise in WASH, climate finance, and governance.
• Excellent research and analytical skills, with experience in policy brief development.
• Willingness and ability to travel in Canada and internationally, sometimes in difficult environments (when travel is permitted).
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across global teams.
• Demonstrated ability to write high quality briefing notes, policy briefs, and influencing plans in English. 

Desirable:

• Experience working in low- and middle-income countries.
• Proficiency in French or other WaterAid working languages.

Outline of service:

Gaddum and Manchester Mind have come together to provide a new and innovative service which will support people to leave inpatient mental health settings and return to their community with the support they need to recover and remain well.

As a team, we will deliver psycho-social interventions, advocacy, housing and welfare rights advice and peer support. There will also be tailored support to young people (those under the age of 25). All we do is underpinned by listening and ensuring people feel heard – because we know that when people are listened to, they recover. Job Purpose of Senior Administrator:

To provide high quality administrative support to the Discharge from Hospital Team – this will be a team based between Manchester Mind and Gaddum.

Your role will provide much needed support for monitoring, data and evaluation requirements of the service and the management of inbound webform referrals (including outcome/ feedback forms on our case management system).

You will also respond to or delegate emails and voicemails to the service appropriately, requiring a good knowledge of the service. You will also support the Service Manager with the improvement and development of administrative and reporting functions.

• To build, run and amend reports to meet changing reporting requirements.

• To ensure data relating to client contact are accurately recorded on our case management system (such as, but not limited to, referral and feedback forms).

• To use Microsoft Excel and any other appropriate system to review and manage reports in line with data reporting requirements.

• To input outcome monitoring forms accurately on to case management systems from a range of mediums including online forms, paper form and other formats as preferred by the client.

• In respect of data entry, identify and support the organisation’s migration into technological solutions that remove the need for third person data input.

• Ensure best practice Information Governance approaches are in place to maintain the best data management systems possible – ensuring compliance with the Information Commissioner’s Office and Gaddum’s Information Governance Framework.

Managing referrals and maintaining records

• Process inbound webform referrals, checking for accuracy, duplication and completeness of data.

• Support, alongside colleagues, the development of referral routes that align with service needs.

• Identify gaps in completeness of data for reporting requirements and develop solutions to address them going forward (e.g. identifying training options to upskill colleagues).

• Managing team inboxes, responding to emails as appropriate and delegating communication to appropriate colleagues.

• Contact clients for feedback, where appropriate, and accurately input feedback into outcome monitoring fields.

About this job 

You’ll have worked in a similar role at this level. You’ll have substantial experience of advising on grievances, disciplinary matters and sickness absence. In addition, you will undertake general HR administration, payroll input each month and provide cover for colleagues within the HR Operations team as and when required.

In this role, you will be the go-to expert on employee relations, providing first-line advice, guidance, and casework support across the organisation. HR Advisor (Recruitment Lead) – Fixed Term contract until June 2026

As our Recruitment Lead, you’ll spearhead our talent acquisition strategy, providing a high-quality, friendly, and efficient service. You'll lead recruitment campaigns and collaborate with managers to ensure a seamless and inclusive candidate experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end recruitment campaigns for a variety of roles.

• Being the first point of contact for candidate applications and relating queries

• Build strong relationships with hiring managers and external partners to identify top talent.
