With a new UK government and over half of the MPs in Parliament new to their roles, it’s an exciting time to join our public affairs team as we look to push MS up the political agenda.
We’re looking for an experienced public affairs professional to join our Campaigns and Public Affairs team to support all of our parliamentary activity. You’ll pull together significant pieces of our engagement with MPs, Lords, staffers and other parliamentarians across Westminster and Whitehall and be a visible expert internally and externally. Working across large and varied policy areas, you’ll manage our All Party Parliamentary Group for MS and coordinate colleagues across the organisation to deliver on our influencing objectives.
Whether it’s about making sure people access groundbreaking treatments, tackling the poverty people face when living with MS, or making sure the right support is there when people need it most, as a Senior Public Affairs Officer you’ll be working directly on influencing campaigns aimed at important political stakeholders to ensure people with MS have a voice in Parliament.

Communications
● work with relevant staff to maximise Declassified’s profile, for example by ensuring the optimisation of our website, newsletters and communications with supporters and non-supporters.

Other information
As you will be home-based and managing a dispersed team, we are flexible about your location. However, you will be expected to travel to our office in Huddersfield for in-person full-team meetings quarterly, and you will need to bring your team together at a central location with similar regularity in between. On top of this, attendance at occasional in-person events and partner meetings, and visits to members to learn more about community rail and assist the team, will be important. About this role

- Development and implementation of yearly comms and marketing plan with support from Associate Director of Business Development and Programmes

Social Media and website

- Work with the Associate Director of Programmes and Business Development to create and develop campaigns (including fundraising and awareness raising campaigns) to be run across social media platforms

- Identify inspiring impact stories and produce written and occasional films case studies and other content for use by the Fundraising and Programmes teams, supporting

- Lead on emergency communications, in close coordination with the Associate Director of Programmes and Business Development
