The Role:
You will hold lead responsibility for the charity’s new business opportunities and income generation, ensuring the development opportunities are effectively maximised.
As Fundraising Officer your responsibility would primarily be to identify and complete tenders for contracts suited to the work of our organisation both locally and nationally. Your responsibility would also include identifying and completing trust funding applications to Trust funders. You would be responsible for developing fundraising programs/products, recruiting individual and corporate sponsors and encouraging support through promotional activities.
Key duties include:
- Develop the business fundraising strategy to include methods on how to engage potential donors, including single events and detailed campaigns
- Identifying contracting opportunities and funders where our work aligns
- Develop and maintain relationships with potential bid partners and funders
- Writing contract tenders and bid proposals
- Develop, organise, and deliver fundraising events where applicable
- Research potential individual and corporate donors
- Assist in planning and coordinating events to raise income and coordinate activities of volunteers and interns related to event planning and execution
- Maintain complete records of funders and manage regular funder communications including project reports
- Support in completing new and existing monitoring and bi-monthly performance reporting to the CEO
About you:
You will be an experienced fundraiser who can demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will have extensive experience in contracts and tendering with local councils and government where the majority of opportunities will arise.
Your knowledge, skills, and experience will include:
- Demonstrable track record as a successful fundraiser and business development professional in the charitable sector.
- Knowledge of the charitable sector, funders, council and government contracts.
- Understanding of the experiences of people who live with significant mental distress and the impact of trauma, racism and discrimination on mental health.
- Must work flexibly to meet the needs of the role (including evening/weekend if required to meet funding application deadlines)

About the Role

RABI’s grants empower farming people to become financially resilient, so short-term monetary problems don’t create negative life-changing impacts. Their mental health support builds emotional resilience to meet the many challenges that farming brings.
The Regional Manager’s responsibilities include the researching, developing and supporting local community fundraising across the region. Working closely with volunteers, county committees and local partners – developing, delivering and evaluating new initiatives to reach new audiences, grow support for RABI and make a difference for the farming community.
You will:
- Demonstrate relevant experience and proven track record within volunteering and community engagement / fundraising.
- Have a good understanding of volunteer motivations, with the ability to manage and work with volunteers and / or local communities.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written, a clear and confident presentation style, and the ability to carry out public speaking, handling press / media enquiries and use of social media.
- Have strong project management and events experience.
- Have exceptional time management and highly developed organisational skills.
- Be IT literate – with good working knowledge of email, Word and Excel, as well as CRM and event management systems.
- Be analytical and numerate, confident in report writing including assessing return on investment etc.
A self-starter, you will be confident decision maker, able to work in a sometimes-pressurised environment. You will be a collaborative team player, with the ability to build relationships with people across all levels. You will have empathy and understanding of UK agricultural methods/people and issues facing the industry. Experience with living and/or working among or knowledge of the farming community would be an advantage.

The role
We are excited to be recruiting a Training and Quality manager, and we are seeking to appoint an experienced individual who can assist in the training of staff and quality processes, across a team embedded in the 14 different GenesisCare cancer treatment centres.

- Assist with the recruitment, induction, and management of new Wellbeing Consultants and therapists
- Manage, support and lead five established Wellbeing Consultants

The Role

Key responsibilities include:
1. Lead the delivery of Young Epilepsy’s fundraising and development insight.
2. Develop and deliver a strategic fundraising and development insight approach.
3. Oversee and optimise the CRM database, including improving KPI tracking and reporting functionality.
4. Lead data analysis efforts and recruit/manage an agency for segmentation, benchmarking, and insights.
5. Drive an audience-focused culture, interpreting data to inform income generation, campaigning, and marketing.
6. Manage and improve data processes, automations, and digital technologies to enhance efficiency.
What we need from you
- Significant experience in supporter-focused roles, with a strong understanding of data analysis and CRMs
- Proven success in using supporter/customer data to enhance marketing or fundraising efforts
- Expertise in data management, reporting, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements
- Strong stakeholder management with the ability to communicate complex insights clearly
- Highly analytical, data-driven mindset with excellent project management and Excel/Office 365 proficiency

Key responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Management
- Develop and implement the charity’s financial strategy to align it to the charity’s main strategy and support long-term goals.
- Provide financial insights to the leadership team to guide decision-making and resource allocation.
- Lead on the preparation of the annual budget, ensuring alignment with the charity's strategic objectives.
- Monitor and forecast financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Work with the Treasurer and trustees to develop and update financial policies and procedures as part of the Resources Committee.
- Keep under review AvMA reserves strategy and policy and recommend changes as necessary.
Day to Day Financial Duties
- Manage and oversee all financial transactions, including accounts payable & receivable, payroll and banking.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts and cash flow reports.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements, including VAT, Gift Aid, and charity reporting standards.
- In conjunction with our investment advisers, support the trustees and CEO with the management of an investment portfolio including the planning of necessary drawdowns for cashflow management purposes.
- Oversee the preparation of year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors.
- Maintain and update financial systems, ensuring robust controls are in place.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Act as a financial advisor to the CEO, trustees and senior leadership team on all matters.
- Present financial reports at board and committee meetings, explaining complex financial data in an accessible way.
- Work closely with fundraising, operations and medico legal teams to align financial plans with organisational objectives.
- Provide mentorship and support to junior finance staff and/or volunteers, as applicable.
Other Duties
- To undertake other duties as required commensurate with this post.
- To attend quarterly Board meetings in person in London.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CIPFA) or equivalent financial experience.
- Proven experience in financial management, ideally within a charity or non-profit organisation.
- Strong knowledge of UK charity accounting standards (SORP) and regulatory requirements as they apply to charities.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement financial strategies.
- Proficiency in financial software (e.g. Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to articulate clearly and effectively both in writing, on the telephone and face to face.
- Ability to lead, manage and work effectively both as a member of a team and on own initiative. Be well organised and remain calm under pressure.
- Forward thinking and able to suggest appropriate changes to AvMA’s services to meet the changing needs of the public and the clinical negligence marketplace.
- Passion, commitment and drive to promote patient rights and follow the aims of AvMA.
- IT literate and confident with technological change. Able to identify opportunities to improve our data collection systems; an awareness of the power of social media and how to use it to promote AvMA’s work.

Desirable:
- Experience working with trustees or non-exec directors and presenting financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Knowledge of fundraising and grant management processes.
