About the role:
This role is based in Preston. We offer the option of hybrid working after completing an initial probation period. 22.5 hours a week working a shift pattern of 9am-5pm and 10:30am - 6:30pm, Wednesday to Friday.
As a Triage and early Intervention Officer you will provide high quality support to all victims and witnesses of crime, leading on completing initial impact and risk assessments that are comprehensive and holistic. Providing immediate and short term intervention via telephone to anyone impacted by crime.

The opportunity
The Society for the Protection of Animals Abroad (SPANA) is the charity for the working animals of the world. Your key responsibilities include:
Digital Programme management
- Develop, implement and optimise innovative multi-channel digital strategies that drive online visibility and performance on platforms such as web, e-mail, organic social and paid media.
- Develop, implement and optimise effective digital campaigns to target audiences to meet fundraising KPIs, enhance brand awareness and drive new leads.
- Create compelling digital content – including e-mail campaigns, landing pages, social media posts and paid media ads – ensuring assets are tailored to respective channels and target audiences.
- Implement SEO strategies to improve online visibility and drive organic growth. Ensure all digital content is SEO optimised and complies with brand guidelines.

Programme support and administration

- Provide advice and support to colleagues across SPANA on making digital activities as efficient and effective as possible in achieving strategic objectives.
- Work with the Head Marketing & Digital to set and manage annual digital budgets.
- Provide support for digital team colleagues during absences.
- Provide social media monitoring and out of hours cover where necessary.
- Stay informed of upcoming trends and developments within the field of digital marketing and make recommendations accordingly.

About You

We’re a small, creative and fast-growing charity that was established from inside The Economist in 2012. We support children, aged 10 to 16, from under-served backgrounds to develop essential skills for the modern world. Our activities
Our programme, Topical Talk, brings about these discussions in four ways:
- We create world-class teaching resources for classroom discussions about global news stories
- We run Topical Talk Festival: the only news festival for young people. Children from countries all over the world join discussions with each other and global experts; and they work towards publishing their opinions in written, audio and film format for the chance to win awards
- We offer Topical Talk Prizes: collections of resources for a series in-depth discussions about a big global issue or theme, following which students submit their work for the chance to win prizes
- We train and support teachers to bring high-quality news discussions into their classrooms; including through intensive, in-person community partnerships in the UK, US and Nigeria
Our impact
Children who take part in Topical Talk can make seven times more progress compared to their peers in creativity, problem-solving, open-minded listening and confident speaking. THE ROLE
We’re looking for a qualified teacher or ex-teacher who is excited to play a hands-on role in our team, training and building relationships with Topical Talk teachers in the UK and internationally.
You’ll be responsible, alongside our Teacher Engagement and Development Lead, for supporting teachers to get the most from Topical Talk programmes. You’ll do this by building strong relationships with a range of individual teachers, school groups (for example multi-academy trusts) and organisations. You'll be confident communicating with and motivating teachers, and delivering inspiring teacher training in a range of settings in the UK and internationally. You’ll also work directly with 10- to 16-year-old students on a regular basis, to model lessons to teachers, deliver workshops and facilitate online discussions.
From time to time you will work with our content team to give input into the creation of interactive lessons on news topics. You’ll share ideas for class activities or topics, join idea-generation and feedback sessions, and occasionally draft lessons yourself.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and deliver teacher training and support to maximise impact of Topical Talk (40%)
- Work with the Teacher Engagement and Development Lead to design and deliver online and in-person teacher training that supports and inspires teachers to run Topical Talk lessons regularly
- Visit schools to observe, and occasionally teach, Topical Talk lessons
- Collect data, such as case studies and progress reports, to help evaluate the impact of Topical Talk
- Test and evaluate different approaches to teacher support in order to continually improve how we work with teachers
Engage students with Topical Talk lessons (30%)
- Deliver inspiring workshops and lessons about the news to young people aged 10 to 16 globally
- Co-plan and present Live Lessons to a global audience
- Facilitate online discussions between young people during Topical Talk Festivals
- Collaborate with the content team to share ideas, give feedback and occasionally draft lessons about the news
Build and nurture effective relationships with teachers, school groups and organisations (30%)
- Build strong relationships with teachers, administrators, local education authorities, school districts or multi-academy trusts, to make Topical Talk a long-term success in the schools
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of Topical Talk in depth in these schools or communities, using evidence to recommend programme-wide changes
- Work with the Head of Marketing and Teacher Engagement Development Lead to recruit schools to participate in Topical Talk Festival, liaising with teachers and persistently following up as needed
- Support teachers to get ready to participate in the Topical Talk Festival, including briefing them, guiding them through the sign-up process and answering their questions / troubleshooting
This role will involve international travel so a valid passport is required. It also involves working with young people, so you will need to have an enhanced DBS check (which The Foundation will organise).

About the role:
This role is a hybrid role with home working allowed twice per week. Your home office would be Chandlers Ford, however you would be expected to travel regularly to offices in both Basingstoke and Southampton. Travel expenses would be paid for these. As a Team Leader you will be:

They are now recruiting for a temporary, Assessment Worker to join their team, initially for 12-16 weeks.
As one of their Assessment Workers, you will work alongside a team of 3 others to deliver support and advice intervention to users of their Gateway Centre. The Gateway Centre provides support to individuals who are homeless and/or rough sleeping, or at risk of becoming homeless. As part of the Assessment team, you will conduct assessments on a drop-in and appointment basis to identify needs, signpost to relevant services both internal and external to the organisation, as well as provide longer term case management for those with complex needs.
To be successful, you will have demonstrable experience of delivering intervention to individuals who are homeless, at risk of becoming homeless and/or rough sleeping who present with varying support needs, including those with complex issues. You will have previous experience of working with clients in a trauma-informed way combined with the ability to produce and approach referrals, needs and risk assessment and building positive reports with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders. Knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting homeless or rough sleeping individuals, and vulnerable adult groups is essential.

· To liaise with other service providers ensuring service users receive the necessary support to sustain their accommodation, acquire relevant independent living skills, maintain or improve positive physical and mental health and access into meaningful occupation of their time.
Liaison with Landlords / Other Agencies
· To support service users to report repairs and work with landlords and advocate where necessary.
· To support service users to contact local authority, voluntary and private sector landlords to report anti-social behaviour issues and advocate where necessary.
· To support service users to present to local authorities as homeless, where appropriate, and advocate where necessary.
Other Duties
· To establish and maintain accurate and complete records in all areas of work
· To complete statistics for the collation of performance and funding information
· To maintain up to date knowledge of legislation and regulations in relation to funders and other key areas.
· To participate in individual and clinical supervision meetings, annual appraisals and training
· To act in accordance with the organisation’s Diversity Policy, Health and Safety Policy, Code of Conduct and all other corporate policies and procedures

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Experience
· Lived experience, or experience of working with homeless or vulnerable LGBTQ+ people, in a voluntary or paid employment setting
· Lived experience, or extensive experience of working with LGBTQ+ people.
· Experience of providing advice and advocacy support to vulnerable people in a professional setting
· Experience of working with and delivering services to a diverse client group with a wide range of support needs
· Experience of supporting people who have faced LGBTQ+ discrimination or hate crime
· Experience of lone working and working as part of team
Essential Knowledge
· Knowledge of Housing Legislation and how it applies to those experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness
· Knowledge and understanding of the causes and effects of homelessness, particularly in relation to LGBTQ+ people
· Knowledge of the current benefits available to single people
· Knowledge of common themes, trends and issues within supported and shared accommodation
· Knowledge of pathways into medical and social support for LGBTQ+ people
Essential Skills and Abilities
· Ability to provide a range of housing related advice and advocacy services, i.e. assessment, developing and using opening letters, support planning, case working, independent living support, welfare benefits advice and providing resettlement support
· Ability to manage challenging behaviour and complex needs, report and raise incidents and safeguarding alerts
· Ability to prioritise and maintain case work across multiple service users at the same time
· Excellent recording and reporting skills to accurately reflect work with young people
· Excellent written and verbal communication with vulnerable people
· Ability to effectively involve and engage LGBTQ+ people in services
· To be resilient in regard to working with challenging behaviour from service users who may have experienced trauma leading them to be mistrustful of support providers
As with all members of Stonewall Housing’s Team, the postholder will also:
· Be an adept and nimble multitasker who relishes being busy and can keep multiple plates spinning.
· Have strong networking and relationship-building skills.
· Have a positive and can-do attitude.
· Be able to adapt to changing circumstances with flexibility, and to work well under pressure.
· Be required to support the wider Stonewall Housing team when needed, to ensure the smooth running of the organisation.
· Join Stonewall Housing’s All Team meeting in person (held near Liverpool Street Station) once per month.
· Be able to travel occasionally around the UK for key events.
· To work as part of a mostly-remote team, embracing online communication and collaboration tools.
· To receive regular supervision from the line manager and attend training courses as required.

Stonewall Housing’s core hours are between 10:00 – 16:00 and staff can agree regular working patterns with their line manager.
