Location: Office base is in Chorley with a mix of home, office and network-based work. This role could also be remote with some travel to Lancashire.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our training team for an enthusiastic individual who is able to manage their own workload and interested in working as part of a small team, supporting people across Lancashire to increase knowledge and understanding of mental health and wellbeing. Your role will help us manage some of the exciting projects that the WW&T Team has on, including a national project around self-harm.
You will have knowledge and understanding of digital platforms and managing the schedules of a team. You will also be managing our exciting new on-demand platform where you will be developing and improving our offer.

About Us
School of Hard Knocks (SOHK) is a charity that exists to empower and support individuals who are living in complex and challenging circumstances. By fostering an environment of genuine acceptance and through the use of physical activity (rugby training) and group and one-to-one support sessions, SOHK enables young people to succeed in their education and reach their potential. All of SOHK's activities are underpinned by an evidence-based sport for development framework called the 5Cs.
Overview
SOHK will soon launch its new and ambitious organisational strategy to drive growth and impact. We want to reach and support more young people at a key point in their adolescence and help them to reach their potential. To achieve this, we need to increase our reach to new audiences and convert more people into donors. We also need to optimise our communications to existing audiences; from young people on our courses and their educational professionals to prospect partners and donors.
This role is key to the success of our growth fundraising strategy that will see us double our income. To achieve this we need to optimise our branding, develop new marketing channels and grow our reach. We are looking for someone as ambitious as we are, and willing to help move our charity into the next stage of our development.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the Marketing & Communications strategy. Work with the Director of Fundraising and Marketing Consultant to contribute to the development of the the Marketing and Communications Strategy. Lead the delivery of the strategy, track progress and report risks and opportunities to senior leadership team.
- Brand management and development. Maintain and evolve the charity's brand identity. Ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
- Social media management. Plan, schedule and create content for multiple channels. Ensure timely publication and distribution of content. Develop and manage social media content and campaigns. Monitor social media engagement and analytics to refine campaigns.
- Digital marketing. Lead the development of all digital marketing to achieve audience reach and income targets.
- Analytics & analysis. Track and analyse the performance of campaigns by monitoring relevant analytics. Use data to adjust strategies and improve outcomes. Conduct regular competitor analysis to ensure we maximise reach. Develop routine end of campaign analytical reviews and reports.
- Stakeholder Engagement. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including ambassadors and celebrity patrons, providing them with all the assets and materials they need. Develop strategies for stakeholder communication and engagement. Work with partners to create mutually beneficial communications strategies.
- MarComms Advisory Panel Engagement. Engage with our voluntary MarComms Advisory Panel of experts to maximise success of our strategy.
- Graphic Design. Using design software, create promotional and programme delivery materials such as brochures, posters, challenge event packs and social media graphics in line with brand guidelines. Create visual content for all digital platforms.
- Video Content Creation. Conduct interviews with beneficiaries on camera to capture their stories. Edit video footage optimising for use in large-scale event films and for social media content. Develop engaging video content to promote the charity's mission and activities.
- Copywriting & Copy Editing. Write and edit inspiring and engaging content for various digital platforms including website, e-newsletters, and social media. Develop compelling stories and case studies to highlight the charity's impact. Write press releases where appropriate and quarterly ‘Supporter Updates’ for major donors.
- Website Management. Oversee the development of a new website. Update and maintain the charity's website content in line with best SEO practice. Ensure integrations are working correctly i.e. website is correctly integrated with Zapier and is pulling through subscribers to Mailchimp.
- Internal Communications. Develop engaging staff communications and opportunities to share successes and drive motivation amongst staff. Seek new opportunities to share information team-wide.
- Integrated digital processes. Maximise efficiency by building integrated digital systems and processes wherever possible.

Terms of Appointment

Role Purpose:
As the Pathway Coordinator – Hospital Discharge you will work closely with colleagues within the Wellbeing Collaborative and across the organisation, to develop and deliver our innovative offer in the acute hospitals and community reablement across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole, to co-create local solutions enabling the community to better access the support the voluntary and community sector (VCS) has to offer.
The role will see you:
- Interact with patients on a face-to-face basis, actively listen and understand their needs ahead of leaving hospital.
- Provide connection to appropriate community support, ahead of discharge. Helping them to return home safely, avoid re-admittance and stay healthy and independent for longer.
- Following a referral from hospital teams, ahead of discharge.
- Develop relationships with professional teams including the Discharge Coordinators and Discharge Key Workers
- Engage in multi-disciplinary discussions in relation to community support available post discharge.
- Work with colleagues efficiently and effectively to distribute one-off wellbeing grants to enable discharge from hospital in a safe and timely manner.
- Identify and highlight gaps in provision at point of discharge from hospital, and work with community groups to identify how best they could support.
- Support the team in the trialling of integrated volunteering into community wellbeing pathways.
- Work as part of the team on a duty roster for a minimum 2 days a week signposting people and professionals to relevant local community service providers.
- Work with the team to monitor and evaluate the Wellbeing Collaborative to ensure our objectives are achieved and evidenced.
- Support the Pathway Coordinator Team Lead to implement a robust and effective communications strategy which not only champions and promotes the work CAN does but also its members.

About you:
You’ll have a good understanding of the work of an umbrella infrastructure such as CAN and the benefits the voluntary and community sector (VCS) can and do bring the community. You’ll understand how the local public sector works with the VCS including BCP Council, NHS Dorset, Public Health and have a desire to see them working more efficiently and effectively together.
As a people person with great interpersonal skills, you’ll be able to build and maintain excellent professional relationships with a wide range of people from a range of background to connect and develop solutions which meet people’s needs.
Experience within acute and/or community hospital, reablement services or community signposting would be an advantage, but full training will be given for the right candidate.

Location: Head Office, Milton Keynes. We offer a hybrid working model, where team members are expected to be in the office for a minimum of three days per week.
Salary: £23,000 per annum

Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week

About the Role
We are looking for a highly creative individual with strong graphic design skills. As the Junior Graphic Designer, you must be enthusiastic about delivering great work and keen to grow in skills and experience. Intuitive understanding of articulating a brand within design assets, is also key. A sharp eye for detail is essential, as are good communication skills and command of the English language.
You will provide a crucial role in delivering brand design assets for print and digital to help meet key objectives across the organisation. The scope of the role means no two days will be the same – you’ll work on numerous projects, adhering to the master brand guide for the charity and any other brand identities of specific marketing campaigns. You’ll enjoy and take pride in producing clean, typographically elegant, imaginative and impactful work.
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Junior Graphic Designer will mainly work with our Graphic Designer, but potentially also with other designers at external creative agencies.
Do you have:
- Proven graphic design experience with examples of pervious work completed.
- A strong eye for aesthetics and details.
- Familiarity with Mac and PC operating systems and software, design software and technologies, especially Adobe Creative Suite.

About the role
We are looking for a Supporter Care Assistant to help provide exceptional support to our valued supporters during our busiest period of the year, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This period is when we are managing an increased amount of fundraising activities (including Corporate Partnership activations) and when we receive the most enquiries about supporting CoppaFeel!. Breast Cancer Awareness Month is the time when our fundraisers need the most support from us and it is a lively, fun and interesting time to be part of the team. As the charity continues to grow rapidly, it has started to become a time where our staff resources are limiting us in making the most of the opportunities so we would like someone to join our team to help and support us in maximising this time of year.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supporter Stewardship
- Respond to a range of fundraising enquiries in a timely manner, liaising with supporters via email and over the phone as appropriate.
- Send out ad hoc postal requests for fundraising materials from CoppaFeel!’s office.
- Work with the Individual Giving Manager in supporting the creation and postage of weekly thank you letters and gifts for donors. Supporting the thanking of corporate partners as appropriate.
- Ensure communications with supporters are recorded on our CRM system.
- Identify high performing fundraisers or supporters to submit for Chest Champion status to ensure recognition and celebration of their support.
- To attend events to represent CoppaFeel! and the Fundraising team.
- To support in the stewardship of small businesses based on our small partnership criteria including monitoring activity and stewarding through dedicated fundraising platforms.
Coordination of fundraising materials
- Support the Operations team in coordinating fulfilment of requests for postage of materials.
- Responsible for monitoring the inventory of fundraising materials within the office and our storage unit.
- Ensure our fundraising materials remain relevant and up to date with current fundraising guidance, CoppaFeel! health messaging and branding.
Administration
- Work with our Finance Executive to support accurate finance reconciling of donations and income streams along with general finance administration.
- Code the back end of JustGiving pages to ensure accurate income reconciliation and reporting.
- Create and maintain up-to-date records on our donor database.
- Pull accurate reports from our donor database as requested by the Fundraising team to maximise donor engagement and retention.
- Adhere to GDPR requirements.
- Participate in CoppaFeel! fundraising and team meetings.
- Identify any opportunities for the promotion of fundraising opportunities in our organisational social media coverage or CoppaDrop mail newsletter by highlighting gaps or availability to the relevant members of the Fundraising team.
- Identify and share updates from across the organisation as appropriate
- Support on coordinating travel for the Fundraising team where necessary for events and meetings.
