Lead the review and development of HR policies and processes to ensure that they embody People’s Economy’s values, and support effective working and staff wellbeing, drawing in external expertise as necessary.

Lead the development and implementation of recruitment processes for staff vacancies, ensuring compliance with People’s Economy’s recruitment policy and employment law.

Finance

Lead People’s Economy’s financial management and control, including:

Manage People’s Economy’s book-keeping and payroll providers to ensure that high quality records of income and expenditure are maintained and the smooth operation of supplier payments, invoicing, payroll and pensions contributions.

Oversee the timely production of regular financial reporting including management accounts, cash forecasting and quarterly reporting to the Board. Scrutinise regular finance reports and work to resolve any issues identified.

Liaise with People’s Economy’s accountant and manage the annual process of independent examination and producing year-end reports and accounts.

And to provide timely and trusted information and support to people diagnosed with breast cancer. This involves responding to safeguarding issues, collecting data, and deliver excellent information on the phone.
The role also involves collaborating with colleagues focusing on the Here for You expansion and integration, as well as working with colleagues across the primary services, secondary services and personalised support services. The role also liaises with our Helpline team.

Skills and Qualities Required:

The Finance Manager role is a newly created role which is being introduced to strengthen the organisation’s financial management and control systems. The postholder will work across the breadth of the finance function preparing internal management accounts and external annual accounts.
In 2024, Cord changed its finance system to use Business Central. The Finance Manager will become the organisation’s main ‘admin’ user of the finance system. In the near-term, there will be a particular focus on rolling out further functionality of the system.
The Finance Manager will have oversight of the UK finance function through the line management of the UK Finance Officer and will directly deliver on the international side of operations in the areas of donor compliance, programme financial management, partner financial monitoring, and reporting. The role will involve travel to international programme locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- To support the Head of Operations to provide finance team leadership, develop and deliver an annual finance workplan to ensure continual improvement, and to drive finance capacity across the organisation
- To ensure the effective financial management of the organisation create and maintain effective financial control
- To be the Business Central Finance System Lead, developing functionality, troubleshooting and capacitating system users
- To ensure financial compliance: prepare statutory accounts, partner compliance, donor compliance and financial reporting

The Director has oversight of the organisations effective running, ensuring it continues to meet its aims and objectives. We are looking for a Database Officer for an 12 month maternity contract to join an inspiring international animal charity and support and contribute to the database operations, including running and assisting with data selections; and generally assisting Fundraising teams with their data requirements.

The Role
Daily importing of donations and personal data from a range of sources to Raisers Edge using Import-o-Matic, RE imports, and
occasional batch and manual entry.
Work closely with the Database Manager and Finance team, reconciling gift income between Raisers Edge and Microsoft Business Dynamics.
Provide support, advice and training for the Supporter Engagement team to ensure that data entry policies are understood and maintained.
The Candidate
Experience of using the Raisers Edge and Import-o-Matic database at an advanced level.
Experience of income processing on Raisers Edge.
Experience of dealing with Gift Aid, including reconciliation and working on claims.
