About the role:
We’re looking for a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated individual to join us as a Specialist Multiple Disadvantage Worker (SMDW). This is an incredible opportunity to make a profound impact on the lives of individuals who have experienced severe and multiple disadvantages, helping them transition from rough sleeping into supported accommodation and a brighter future. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll lead efforts to ensure that clients, often facing significant barriers to engagement, are introduced to vital health and social care services in a psychologically informed way.
Your role will involve managing a small caseload of clients with a complex and entrenched history of rough sleeping. You’ll build strong, trusting relationships with these clients, many of whom have faced challenges in accessing services, and help them engage with external services that are essential to their recovery. By leading assessments, managing multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, and overseeing safeguarding and in-reach clinics, you will ensure that each client receives the best possible support. Additionally, you’ll work closely with Project Workers, offering guidance and advice on housing and support tools, ensuring that the team is empowered with the knowledge to help clients achieve lasting change.
As a key member of the team, you’ll collaborate with a wide network of professionals, from substance misuse workers to occupational therapists, nurses, and GPs. About you:
- Demonstrable experience of working clients with complex needs such as Mental Health, Substance use or Physical Health needs.
- Experience of working with homeless service users, and a good understanding of the working methods of residential schemes.
- Experience of establishing and maintaining good working relationships with other professionals, including those who may have different outcome priorities.
- Experience of reflecting critically upon own practice in order to improve the experience for service users.
- A non-judgmental approach to working with multi-disadvantaged/complex needs clients and to promote a strengths-based approach and an understanding of and commitment to Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion.
- Strong team-working and interpersonal skills, maintaining a collaborative approach to delivering service objectives across work specialisms.

About the role:
As a Project Worker Complex Needs in our ELMS Service in Waltham Forest, you will have the rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals living with paranoid schizophrenia and other complex needs. Your role will be diverse and impactful, working directly with residents to provide essential support through key working, daily shift delivery, and client recording. You’ll also liaise with mental health professionals, helping coordinate appointments and advocating for residents when needed, ensuring they receive the care and attention they deserve.
You will support clients through structured key working and carry out comprehensive assessments, including risk assessments and goal setting, all while promoting Single Homeless Project’s values and practices. By implementing holistic support strategies, you will empower residents to manage their diagnosis and address their emotional, practical, and housing management needs. The role also includes supporting clients through engaging social activities such as a lunch club, bowling, and an allotment group, creating opportunities for connection and growth. As you guide residents on their journey toward independent living, your work will be pivotal in helping them build the skills and confidence needed to lead fulfilling, healthy lives.
The rota runs over Mon-Sun and some weekends are required. You will also be required to do light household chores and travel between the houses on the project.
About you:
- A working knowledge of severe and enduring mental ill-health, and the interventions and effective approaches to supporting individuals experiencing such conditions.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively, prioritising different areas of work according to need.
- The ability to coach someone to undertake a range of practical tasks relating to living independently.
- A Person-Centred support approach and the ability to create collaborative support plans, build rapport, and foster collaboration with residents.

Role Overview
This new, exciting role sits at the heart of our growing charity. It is central to our conversion from a small laptop redistribution charity to the leading digital inclusion service supporting refugees in the UK.
We are looking for someone to coordinate our operations - specifically within our award-winning Digital Access and more broadly at an organisational level. This includes overseeing our fulfilment solutions, ensuring devices are distributed promptly and smoothly, and getting stuck in with the packaging, postage and refurbishment process. The role also includes managing our office and supporting the CEO with our HR process.
The post holder will be extremely dynamic, communicative and proactive. They will have strong knowledge of IT and understand that our work with vulnerable adults requires an attitude and culture of equity and safeguarding.
Job Description
Operations - Digital Access Programme

Explain our referral system to interested parties, ensure our existing referral partners are following the system and respond to queries regarding the referral system

Be the primary contact point for our referral partners, informing them of successful referrals, delivery information and digital paperwork.

Lead on the allocation of devices to specific Screen Share clients dependent on the needs identified by the Screen Share team and the nature of the IT asset
-
Facilitate the delivery of devices and accessories to service users and technical volunteers via Royal Mail, DHL and other postal and courier services, packaging up devices securely and physically taking them to the Post Office where necessary
-
Manage our client and asset management database on Airtable, ensuring all the relevant data is captured accurately and in line with our technical processes and data protection policies.

Manage Screen Share’s stock of IT Assets securely and carefully, ensuring the highest level of security and discretion

Manage Screen Share’s stock of IT parts and packaging, ordering specific parts and packaging where necessary while coordinating with our suppliers

Support with the fulfilment elements of the Digital Access programme, including improving and developing partnerships with providers of IT parts, postal and courier services and packaging equipment

Support the Operations Assistant with IT Asset collections and deliveries

Support the Technical Lead with laptop refurbishment, including data sanitisation, operating system installs, diagnostics, device configuration and quality assurance.

Ensure any e-waste we collect or create which we don’t reuse is recycled appropriately in collaboration with our recycling partner

Assign financial value to each device and support our E-commerce function where necessary
Operations - Organisational

Manage our physical office such that staff, volunteers and subtenants can do their jobs efficiently, comfortably and safely - including but not limited to fire safety, waste management and printing.

Ensure the office is fully secure and accessible and that there is a clear and effective line of communication between Screen Share, our landlord and subtenants.

Support with the fulfilment elements of our other programmes, including booking workshop spaces, managing Oyster cards and exploring software which will make our systems more efficient and activities more impactful

Where necessary, manage staff and volunteers working on operational projects, including Operations Assistants, interns and corporate staff on volunteer days.

Support the planning and execution of events, including event planning, venue bookings, budget management and logistics for staff and trustee away days.

Administer DBS checks for staff and volunteers and ensure all those at Screen Share have attended our safeguarding training

Support the CEO with HR and compliance processes, including inductions for new staff; ensuring they work within the organisation’s policies; ensuring all staff are comfortable with our tech stack; organising staff training and well-being days; being the point of contact in a small team for disciplinary and grievance issues; developing and maintaining organisational policies; and ensuring we are GDPR and Cyber Essentials compliant.

About the Role

Key responsibilities
General
You must have empathy with Playlist for Life’s aims, values and objectives and strong understanding of the sector Playlist for Life operates in. Understanding the third sector and best practice in communications and marketing is essential. You will ensure a consistent ‘tone of voice’ for the charity and ensure its messages are delivered uniformly across platforms to maximise impact.
Leadership and strategy
· Work closely with the Executive Director, Business Manager and Head of Communities to develop a communications and campaign strategy that coordinates message-delivery in a creative and innovative way across all platforms to complement our operations and delivers our strategic objectives.
· Manage the reputation of the organisation, reviewing and updating our brand guidelines. Including developing communication handling plans for sensitive issues and advising staff and trustees.
· Ensure appropriate sign-off procedures and communication guidelines to protect and enhance the Playlist for Life brand and reputation
· Line manage and develop the Communications Officer role to provide the skills and capacity required to deliver the communications strategy including campaigns, event management, PR, digital engagement, social media, design of new materials and resources.
· Has budget responsibility for the Communications Team and commission and brief designers, consultants and other external suppliers
· Build on existing partnerships with other organisations and establish new ones to deliver joint campaign themes and increase our national impact.
· Work with the wider team and board on our fundraising strategy and ensure the communications strategy compliments and boosts our fundraising efforts to increase donations to the charity from individuals, corporate partners and trusts and foundations
· Work with our Business Manager and Head of Communities to promote and market our training to sell to care homes and other care settings.

Media management
· Manage the promotion of stories across all platforms – proactively seeking ways to raise our profile and ensuring the organisation is able to respond appropriately to media requests and enquiries.
· Act as a spokesperson for Playlist for Life if appropriate and required. Provide guidance and support to staff members or trustees who are acting as a spokesperson for the charity.
Stakeholder engagement
· Work closely with the Communities Team to develop a communications strategy for engaging and supporting our community partners (Help Points), volunteers, lived experience ambassadors, and health and care professionals to keep in touch and share best practice.
· Support the development and creative of high-quality case studies, videos and photos to showcase impact, tell people’s stories and inspire others to create a playlist, donate to the charity or support our work.
Project management
· Prioritise, plan and allocate resources (including budgets and staffing) for the delivery of key communications activities, campaigns and projects on time and within budget.
· Oversee and organise special events and activities scheduled as part of the overall comms and PR strategy, National Playlist Day or other communications projects
