About the Legal Education Foundation
“Why does it matter that people can understand and use the law?”
This question lies at our core. By asking it, the role of the law as a tool for social justice has become the common thread in our development. We are now one of the largest social justice funders in the UK, and one of the only ones to focus on the specific role and potential of the law. We do this through the strategic development and delivery of a number of programmes and initiatives.
We distribute around £6m a year through our grants, which cover areas of law including human rights, employment, housing, discrimination, children’s rights, community care, education, immigration, asylum and public and administrative law. We also fund particular issues and communities, such as racial justice, gender justice including violence against women and girls, disability justice, tenants, workers, migrants, refugees and children.
The Justice First Fellowship
In 2014 we established the Justice First Fellowship (JFF), our flagship scheme to support the next generation of social justice lawyers. More than 160 Fellowships have been awarded across all four nations in the UK, over ten cohorts. The Foundation has invested around £10.6 million into the scheme with additional contributions from other funders totalling £4.7 million.
The Fellowships have supported the new lawyers to use their skills and networks to bring about social change. Over 90% of JFF graduates remain in legal roles using law for public benefit and we are committed to continuing to support our alumni over the long term. So, it is an active and engaged group with a growing collective impact and voice for social justice.
About the role
This is a new role within the Foundation, and the post-holder will play a key part in ensuring the successful delivery of this flagship scheme. As part of a small and collaborative team, the JFF Officer role is varied and will include overseeing the coordination of events and training, acting as a key point of contact for Fellows as well as administration, communication and relationship management. The candidate will join us at an exciting time as we explore opportunities to help further develop the support provided to our Fellows.
If you have relevant experience and skills, are passionate about social justice and the not-for-profit sector, and thrive on building relationships, then this could be a great opportunity for you. On a practical note there will be some UK travel and you’ll need a demonstrable ability to juggle multiple projects. We’re looking for someone dynamic, creative, and driven to join our team. You'll be responsible for coordinating, training, and/or recruiting our volunteers, placement students and trainee creative therapists – helping us continue to host an experiential learning programme that truly supports our community and one-to-one services, and embodies our radically human and relational approach to health and social care.
The Role
You’ll be part of a team, working closely with our Community Programme Coordinator and Community and Placement Programmes Lead to plan and structure their placement journeys, and design learning and support spaces that help them build the knowledge, skills and emotional intelligence needed to provide person-centred support.
Responsibilities will include:

Leading and coordinating volunteer, placement student, and creative therapist recruitment processes, selection workshops, and/or interviews.

Planning and facilitating volunteer, placement student, and creative therapist training, induction, and
learning spaces.

Providing regular support and supervision spaces to our trainee creative therapists, supporting their learning and engagement in the client work in line with therapeutic practice, but also with our values and approach as an organisation.

Maintaining relationships with a wide range of partners, including course providers, alumni placement students,
and volunteer/placement advertisers.

What is the overall purpose of the role?
At Youth Action Alliance, our mission is to support the personal and social development (their values, beliefs, ideas and skills) of the young people living in Kensington and Chelsea and neighbouring boroughs, enabling them to increase their resilience and skills in the present and promote their ambitions for the future.
We are ambitious to grow, to continue supporting more young people and influence positive change. To do this we are looking to appoint a Support Worker to deliver an innovative and progressive youth programme, in a safe industrious and supportive environment working primarily with young people from diverse communities.
The Staying Connected project provides weekly one-to-one and group support for young people aged 11 - 19 years, facing multiple challenges. Creating a personal action plan comprised of positive activities that promote and enhance personal development and skills, building on young people’s strengths. This engagement is via face-to-face, online platforms, mobile phones and structured group work to maintain contact with them, talking about how they are feeling and providing advice, mentoring and signposting to additional support services.
Key Responsibilities
Programme management
- Support with the planning and delivery of an innovative, cohesive and progressive programme of delivery for Staying Connected (focusing on personal and social development skills).
- Recruit, Engage and support young people 11-19 years to participate in the Staying Connected programme
- Increase our local partnership work, adding value and additional expertise to the London youth support infrastructure
- Adhere to the Staying Connected provision Risk Assessment as/when required and carry out regular health and safety checks.
- Support with the promotional activity of the project and events to raise of our profile i.e via social media, website, offline marketing etc
- Support young people into positive outcomes including Education, Employment and/or Training.
- Deliver vital one-to-one or group support sessions via text message, email, telephone calls, virtually and face to face to provide advice, information, guidance, mentoring and signposting to internal and external services i.e; mental health and wellbeing services or a YAA event
- Create individual Action plans with young people to capture their key aims and objectives at different stages of engagement in the project
- Support to organise and provide trips and positive activities in line with provision delivery plan and/or requirements
- Day-to-day operational and administrative management support of the Staying Connected provision
- Support the management of the project budget sheet, recording expenditures and forecasting financial information for reporting purposes
- Maintain an asset register for any equipment/assets associated with the Staying Connected provision and ensure their safekeeping.
- Support the management of referrals to and from the Staying Connected provision including partner agencies such as Social Services, the Police, the Youth Offending Team YOT, the Alternative Provision and Schools

In addition, the role is responsible for the creation and growth of a legacy giving programme. This will involve working with solicitors, accountants, financial advisors, and other professionals to identify potential legators. You will engage in research, build relationships, and host targeted events to cultivate support for legacy giving. Furthermore, you will collaborate with the Head of Fundraising and Engagement and the Marketing and Communications Lead to develop strategies for marketing legacies and expanding this critical area of support.

The Role

Charity People are delighted to be partnering with the Anne Frank Trust UK, an education charity that educates 9 to 15-year-olds about Anne Frank and the Holocaust, empowering them to challenge all forms of prejudice, to help recruit an Education Delivery Specialist.
Founded in 1991, The Anne Frank Trust UK is the UK partner of the Anne Frank House Amsterdam. "I'll make my voice heard, I'll go out into the world and work for humankind!" wrote Anne Frank in her diary on 12 March 1944. The Trust has a 30-year record of empowering young people to challenge prejudice, inspired by Anne Frank and the antisemitism that she experienced through the Holocaust.
Education Delivery Specialists are the front-line delivery posts for all programmes, leading workshops, training peer educators and mentoring ambassadors across the country. You will be committed to equality with the skills to engage 9 to 15-year-olds through learning and empowerment. You will join a dedicated team, passionate about young people, and committed to empowering them to challenge prejudice.
Key responsibilities
- Programme Delivery: You will plan and deliver educational programmes for young people (ages 9-15) focused on challenging prejudice, empowering them with knowledge and skills. You will book programmes into schools, maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, and lead workshops and online sessions. You will prioritise equality and diversity, emphasising inclusive educational activities and impact.
- Training, Mentoring and Support: You will train young people as peer educators and Anne Frank Ambassadors to disseminate anti-prejudice messages effectively, and provide mentoring, offering support and guiding them.
- Events: You will organise events, study trips, and projects with your Ambassadors and their communities, working to targets, curriculum, and quality standards. You will monitor and evaluate activities, maintaining records for assessment.
- Database and Fundraising Support: You will maintain comprehensive records on the Trust's databases and contribute occasionally to fundraising efforts, such as grant applications and supporting young people at donor events.
The Education Delivery Specialist will have substantial experience of running learning activities with groups of young people, including aged 9-15 years, and experience of engaging with and meeting the needs of disadvantaged young people. You will also have experience of providing pastoral/emotional support, working successfully as part of a team, and keeping records and writing reports. You will have knowledge of best practice in teaching and/or youth empowerment, as well as be familiar with the needs and issues of young people. You will understand and have ideas about how to challenge prejudice, and an understanding of safeguarding. You will be highly organised, with excellent administration skills, and able to build and maintain effective relationships. You will use your initiative, creativity, and energy to solve problems and develop new ways of working. You will have an inspiring presentation style with warm, professional interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about Anne Frank and the work of the Anne Frank Trust UK.
The role is home-based within the Essex region. Ideally you will have access to appropriate working space which can be discussed further at interview. There will be frequent local and regional travel and occasional UK-wide travel and overnight stays. Expenses are covered and time off in lieu is given for evening and weekend work. You will have a current valid UK driving licence and access to a car. The role is subject to an advanced DBS check on appointment, and references.

About the role
The Head of Mass Participation Fundraising leads an ambitious team that attracts and enables supporters to raise funds for Young Lives vs Cancer through participation in virtual or real life events and challenges. They deliver through creating a quality and forward looking events and challenges portfolio, and working with partner teams attract motivated participants and provide an outstanding supporter experience that ensures fundraising goals are smashed and long term relationships are built.
With their team and partner teams the Head of Mass Participation Fundraising keeps performance on track and spots opportunities by always tracking performance through quality KPIs and measures. They also have a close eye on what’s happening in the sector, making sure the portfolio constantly evolves to stay ahead of trends, this ensure they maximise the returns for the investment in the portfolio focusing on maximising income and gaining new supporters

Role Overview
As a member of the Senior Executive Team you will be responsible for translating the strategic direction of the charity into tactical plans for evidence and research to achieve the charity’s overall aims. In leading on the delivery of the Crohn’s & Colitis UK research strategy, you will be heavily focused on providing oversight of our programme of research grants and establishing networks, partners and alliances to drive increased investment in research. The remit will also involve oversight and responsibility for the day to day management, direction and leadership of the Evidence and Research teams.
About You
You will have acquired a high level of experience of delivering programmes of evidence and insight in one or more of the voluntary, medical, health or research sectors, coupled with a solid understanding of the UK health research environment. You will have developed and operationalised strategies, be an accomplished team leader, and have a proven ability engage and influence a diverse range of senior stakeholders

Our Location
We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home, although there will be times when you will need to be at face-to-face meetings. You will be required to attend meetings in Hatfield/London twice a month, as well as two Directorate days each year. In addition, the charity meets four times annually at it’s office in Hatfield (or a location in London) for its’ ‘All Staff Together’ days of which attendance is mandatory.

You will need be able to travel across the Cheshire East area independently.
You Will
- provide a person-centred and outcomes focused information, advice and support service to people affected by dementia and their carers.
- You will identify their needs and the services they may wish to access, give advice about how to live well with dementia and support the improvement of their sense of wellbeing.
- You will need to work with a variety of other professionals, such as GP’s, memory clinic staff and other health and social care services.
- Support may be provided in person, over the telephone, via virtual options or in writing.
- You will aim to reach people affected by dementia from all communities and work to make your service as inclusive as possible.
- You will be working from home, but you will be spending time in the community completing home visits, attending clinics and giving dementia awareness talks to groups, therefore you must be comfortable with public speaking.
About You
- Be An empathetic listener, able to assess and evaluate client need in a non- judgemental manner.
- Able to work under pressure and manage own caseload.
- Self-motivated and can work independently from home using your own initiative, but equally you are a team player keen to support your colleagues.
- You have some knowledge or personal experience of dementia and the challenges people affected by it may face.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Mental Capacity Act, Safeguarding Adults, Data Protection.

This role will work within a multidisciplinary environment, make strategic recommendations to a wide range of colleagues, lead cross-departmental and cross-organisational project teams to deliver against the organisation’s goals and get to know the policy areas sitting behind the products and projects that you lead. You’ll work closely alongside the Senior Marketing Manager, Head of Strategic Comms, Head of Digital and a number of other teams within a supportive Communications and Engagement Directorate.
