Da'aro Youth Project is looking for an experienced caseworker to join our small team based in Streatham Hill, London. The successful candidate will work alongside young refugees, asylum seekers and other young migrants who are at risk or in crisis to ensure that they can access their statutory rights and make progress in their personal development so that they can achieve their full potential. You will join our Casework Service which provides holistic casework, advice and practical support to young people aged 14 to 25 years, working closely with statutory and voluntary organisations to ensure that the immediate and longer-term needs of young people are met.

We are looking for people to deliver our Being Dad programme of peer support for expectant and new dads, or those with parental responsibilities, in the perinatal period (pregnancy to two years).
As a Sessional Project Worker, you will help co-facilitate our ‘Being Dad’ groups and drop-in sessions with our peer support volunteers. Within these groups, you will provide a safe space for men to share their experiences and the challenges that come during the first years of parenthood.
This is an exciting role offering the opportunity to be involved in frontline delivery of groups, as well as using your own lived experience to input into development of the project.
You will be an effective communicator with experience of delivering groups or workshops. Your exceptional organisation skills will support the successful delivery of the project and ensure that it is evaluated effectively.
We particularly want to hear from men from a range of backgrounds and those who have supported a partner through perinatal mental health issues.

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. In 2024 we embarked on our new 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it.

Title: Senior Practitioner Psychologist (internally this role is known as Senior Skylight Psychologist)

About the role
We are excited to offer this new role which is an opportunity to support our two London Crisis at Christmas teams. There is the Crisis at Christmas team who lead on the set up and delivery of our hotel and day centre delivery in the capital. This is a huge and innovation operation, supporting hundreds of people out of rough sleeping. It also involves huge numbers of volunteers. The postholder will be working alongside the Crisis at Christmas team and Christmas Case Management Team to develop this post. You will form part of the local Leadership team, supporting the implementation of Psychologically Informed Environments (PIEs). You will support the delivery of our work to members by offering training and leading reflective practice for staff and providing direct services to members at times. You will be working alongside the Christmas team to plan how we ensure our service offer is psychologically and trauma informed as well as developing and delivering training for volunteers and staff and supporting the delivery of our services. You will be joining a part-time Psychologist working into the Christmas Case Management team, as well as several Psychologists who are also based in the London Skylight.
You will also be a part of a national psychology team made up of a Lead Clinical Psychologist, two Regional Lead Clinical Psychologists, and seven Practitioner Psychologists as well as one Assistant Psychologist and Trainee Clinical Psychologists on placements.

Purpose of the post
HDR UK and the BHF Data Science Centre are committed to meaningful involvement and engagement where patients and the public are actively involved in shaping our work and decision-making. Reporting to the Centre’s Operations Director, this is a pivotal role that will be integral to ensuring the patient and public voice is embedded in our work at all stages.
You will work closely with public members, research and NHS communities, internal colleagues, charity partners, and funders to develop and implement plans for PPIE activity across all of our key areas of interest, in addition to the governance of the Centre.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who has a passion for meaningful involvement and engagement of patients and the public, to shape and influence our work on the safe, ethical and scientifically robust use of data for research into the causes, prevention and treatment of all diseases of the heart and circulation.
The successful candidate will have a track record in working with individuals, groups and communities and have the ability to communicate complex information in clear, engaging ways. The post holder will have excellent influencing and negotiation skills, experience of working on complex projects with multiple partners and be comfortable with working at pace. Patient and public involvement and engagement in data-driven research is a growing field. The successful candidate will show a willingness and experience of developing and delivering innovative approaches to involvement where previously opportunities may not have been obvious.
Main responsibilities
Embedding PPIE in our work
- Lead on the delivery of the PPIE strategy for the BHF Data Science Centre, with oversight from the Operations Director, incorporating regular (e.g. annual) reviews and updates of the strategy.
- Lead and facilitate meetings with public contributors to integrate meaningful PPIE throughout all aspects of our work.
- Undertake and manage specific involvement and engagement activities, including but not limited to focus groups, engagement events, developing and undertaking surveys, supporting the writing of plain English summaries of projects and their outputs. In collaboration with senior colleagues, support involvement of patients and the public in the governance of our work.
- Review and provide advice on PPIE elements of research applications ensuring adequate PPIE is incorporated and provide advice where needed to researchers.
- Develop methods to expand reach and ensure diversity of perspectives and work with the HDR UK PPIE team to grow involvement of currently underrepresented and underserved groups in health data science.
- Build and manage relationships with colleagues within the BHF Data Science Centre, working collaboratively to support and manage involvement and engagement across all areas of work.
- Work closely with the internal communications colleagues to create and disseminate engaging content (e.g. news stories on outputs and impact, videos, infographics, case studies) on our work and involvement and engagement activities using a variety of communication tools.
- Horizon scan and liaise with colleagues across the BHF Data Science Centre and HDR UK for opportunities to increase visibility of the institute’s engagement and involvement impact, i.e. through conferences, festivals, journals and other publications.
Developing PPIE best practice and collaborative working
- Incorporate best practice in our work, learning from examples of successful patient and public engagement that could influence our work
- Provide briefings for colleagues to share best practice and examples of successful patient and public engagement
- Collaborate with PPIE colleagues to coordinate public outreach initiatives and other events, ensuring that stakeholders are afforded opportunities to contribute their input and provide feedback. Establish effective working relationships and ‘ways of working’ with strategic partners to maximise opportunities for collaboration in patient and public involvement and engagement.
- Act as an internal and external ambassador for public, patient and practitioner engagement and involvement.
- Monitor and report on performance of PPIE across the Centre, make effective use of digital approaches to maximize the ability to collaborate, communicate and continuously learn.
Supporting PPIE members
- Be the point-of-contact for all BHF Data Science Centre public contributors, ensuring they are kept updated, receive all information in a timely manner and that any issues are dealt with in a sensitive manner.
- Lead on the recruitment of new public contributors as required. Adapt, develop and provide training for public contributors where necessary identifying training requirements as needed.
- Working with BHF Data Science Centre colleagues, maintain patient and public contact lists in Hubspot (CRM).
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Experience
- Experience of working with patients, carers and members of the public with diverse interests.
- Experience of running patient/public involvement activities and evaluating these activities, strategies and methodologies, preferably in a research environment
- Experience of promoting the need and value of engagement and involvement to a wide range of stakeholders and acting as an advocate

We are looking for a passionate Freedom Caseworker to deliver Freedom, a pet fostering service for individuals fleeing domestic abuse, in the South East of England.
About this role:
As Freedom Caseworker, you’ll:
- support pets and their owners through the referral and placement process, assessing the dogs and matching them with fosterers where appropriate.
- ensure that, while on placement, the welfare and behaviour of fostered dogs is monitored, and that volunteer foster carers feel supported,
- maintain regular contact with clients, providing updates on their dogs foster placement, receiving updates on their housing status from their support agency, and ultimately, arrange for owners and dogs to be reunited.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you’ll need significant experience of assessing and handling a variety of dogs in a rescue or rehoming centre environment, while also having a good understanding of domestic abuse and the problems faced by individuals fleeing domestic abuse with pets. You’ll also need to be a personable, confident communicator, who is comfortable handling sensitive and challenging situations appropriately and professionally. You’ll also need some experience of home visiting and working in a public facing role. Finally, we’re looking for a candidate with some experience of driving as part of a previous role, as driving will be a big part of the Freedom Caseworker position.

The service places dogs into volunteer foster homes on a temporary basis until their owners are able to be reunited with them. · Where necessary to administer first aid for children who have had an accident as well as medication for children with health issues ensuring that have attended necessary training with regards to this
· Provide and supervise the hygienic provision of personal care, ensuring privacy, dignity at all time and recording in care plan.
· To receive medication from Parents/Carers, check, record and store safely following procedures.
· Administer, where necessary, after appropriate training, medication for children keeping accurate and up to date records.
· Assist with moving and handling of children/adults with restricted mobility, after appropriate training, including hoisting and use of mobility equipment.
· Provide high level of support for children/adults with complex needs, ensuring care plans and behaviour plans are understood and followed to meet individual needs.

Barnet Mencap has been helping people with learning disabilities and/or autistic adults in the London Borough of Barnet for over 50 years. We provide supported accommodation, leisure and learning activities, information, advice, and guidance, and so much more. We are looking for a focused individual to join our caring, passionate, and diverse team in supporting adults with moderate learning disabilities and autistic adults to live independently in housing situations of their choice. This role gives challenge and satisfaction and will suit someone that has:
- Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults in a community setting

- Understanding of the issues faced by people with learning disabilities and autistic people living independently and the skills to meet their practical, social and emotional needs

The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check in line with Section 115 of The Police Act 1997.

Location: The Children's Society's national office at Whitecross Studios, Old Street, London, or one of our regional offices (currently in Birmingham and Greater Manchester), with hybrid working options available. Our Research, Evidence and Impact Team is recruiting two new Research, Evidence and Impact Officers to support our work across an extensive portfolio of projects. As well as doing innovative and original research, we collaborate with colleagues to develop the evidence to drive policy and systems change, and with practitioners and managers in our services to support them with independently commissioned evaluation and learning from practice activities. We're also developing new ways to understand, demonstrate and increase the impact of everything The Children's Society does.
OUR TEAM
The Research, Evidence and Impact Team has a vital role in ensuring that The Children's Society retains a clear and authentic understanding of young people's lives, with a focus on what is most important to building or preserving wellbeing. Our charity has been at the forefront of research on children's wellbeing for 20 years, alongside conducting child-centred studies on adolescence, risk and vulnerability (e.g. on Child Exploitation), and child poverty, exploring the issues that jeopardise young people's safety, health and opportunities. We have a track record for innovation (e.g. developing a validated and widely used 'Good Childhood Index') and work with academic partners and other organisations who share our vision of a society built for all children.
Our collaborative culture at The Children's Society means that we often work with colleagues who lead lobbying and campaigning activities, bringing together compelling evidence to drive change - in public awareness and attitudes, and in policies and systems - that can improve young people's lives. We also work closely with colleagues in our services across the country - sometimes to study the issues they see in their frontline work with young people and families, and sometimes to support them when they commission independent evaluations or learning exercises.
The Research, Evidence and Impact Team's work is also pivotal to two flagship reports that The Children's Society publishes every year - 'The Good Childhood Report' and our Annual Impact report.
THE TYPE OF PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are currently looking for two early career researchers / evaluators who can make a key contribution to the delivery of research, evaluation and impact projects for The Children's Society. You will be joining a team of experienced researchers to work across a varied and exciting range of projects. You will be involved where your input is most needed - and there will be opportunities to develop fresh skills and knowledge.
If you already have strong research/ evaluation skills and the energy and motivation to learn and develop in a supportive, multidisciplinary team in a leading children's charity we would love you to join us.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
-Knowledge and understanding of research and/ or evaluation methodologies, including young person-centred approaches - and an interest in exploring and understanding impact.
-Experience of conducting research and/ or evaluation, from project design through to reporting, whether through a paid or unpaid role or academic studies (ideally both).
-Qualitative and quantitative analysis skills - and demonstrable experience of applying these to research/ evaluation projects.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the confidence to work with a range of stakeholders including professionals in external organisations and, importantly, young people and parents/ carers.
-An understanding of ethics and safeguarding related to research with young people and families.

It’s an exciting time at BookTrust, we’re investing in developing our traded offers to enable us to provide more intensive support and reach more families to get children reading. We need a New Product Development Lead, to drive new product development in response to key new markets for BookTrust – fostering, adoption agencies, local authorities and primary schools. Working with our Proposition Development Manager, Product Developers and new commercial team, the postholder will design and develop new products and services that meet customer needs, our organisational goals and most importantly our puts our families’ needs at the heart of design. The postholder will take a ‘test and learn’ approach, making rapid progress against our most risky assumptions, whilst also sketching out and engaging the organisation in a 3 year product development strategy.
Objectives and Deliverables for the role:
- Lead the development and prioritisation of our key product hypotheses and build out 3-year development plan scenarios for Story Explorers (our brand new subscription offer) and prioritised primary school offers (tbc) including (not exhaustive) our optimal subscription model, online support model for parents/carers and practitioners, parent/carer push notifications, B2B customer journey.
- Work with our research and impact team to establish robust design learning approach and methodology that supports us to make rapid progress against hypothesis testing and ensure our Story Explorers offer has maximum impact with families.
- Work closely with our supply chain, IT, digital and books teams to scope feasibility and define key product parameters and design requirements early in the development process.
- Create excellent documentation including concept boards and low fidelity prototypes, process maps, development roadmap, empathy maps, ecosystem maps and value proposition canvas’ to support ongoing development to support the development of our new offers.
- Establish project group, structures and ways of working to support ongoing offer development and establish the right level of governance for development work.
- Coach and support more junior designers/line reports to nurture BookTrust’s in-house service design capability.
Would suit someone who:
- Has strong practical experience of using design thinking or human centered design approaches to develop new products and services.
- Has a product or service development background in a mid-large organisation/company.
- Has some commercial/social enterprise experience.
- Is used to combining on and off-line touchpoints to create impactful products and services.
- Is very comfortable with ambiguity and guiding stakeholders through it.
- Understands that brilliant collaboration is at the heart of design.
