Job Summary

This role is an expansion of our employment pathway and will be our first dedicated employment coach for our students.

PiP has developed a unique reputation for our experience and quality of employment support for adults with learning disabilities. This has led to an increased number of referrals with a focus on employment, an expansion of our in-house social enterprise capacity, and more employers keen to work alongside us to diversify their staff base.

PiP is keen to respond to and meet this demand. This role for us is the next step in doing so, allowing us to increase our job coaching capacity and providing more dedicated resource for students on their employment journey. As to date our coaching has been delivered across our existing staff team.

What You’ll Need

• Working with people with learning disabilities, or a similar client group
• Experience of training, education, or employment support delivery
• Experience of job coaching or supporting work placements
• Understanding of and commitment to a person-centred approach
• An understanding of the needs of employers and ability to articulate the benefits of having a diverse workforce to businesses
• Able to establish, develop and maintain constructive and professional relationships, both internal and external, with a wide variety of professional and carers
• Evidenced experience of success in building strong and positive relationships with a variety of people and organisations

What We Offer:

· The salary for this role is circa £29,500 dependent on experience with incremental pay progression.

You'll get 25 days holiday + bank holidays ever year. We're closed for Christmas but the rest of the year you may take leave whenever you wish. 

· An extra day of annual leave for each year you've worked with us up to another 5 (30 in total)

Database, Social Media and Office Administrator

Merton Mencap is a local charity supporting young people and adults with a learning disabilty and / or autism and their family carers in the borough of Merton.

We provide weekday, weekend and holiday clubs, as well as learning opportunities at our Community Cafe.  We hold lots of fundraising events such as indoor sky diving, our annual charity auction and staff joining together to sing Christmas carols in shopping centres to raise funds to support our projects.

This is a varied role and the successful candidate will be pivital to all aspects of the business, working with all members of the Senior Management Team as well as project staff who work across the borough of Merton.

The applicant will be responsible to the Office Manager and will support them in day to day operations for the charity, as well as being a social media and database expert for the charity.  Training on our database system will be provided.

The role is office based in our Merton Offices and can be worked over 2 or 3 days per week, 52 wks per year.

The role:

This role involves one to one support for unpaid Carers who support people with various support conditions including autism.

Skills and experience:

The successful applicant will have outstanding organisational and communication skills, be confident at supporting people on a one-to-one basis, including providing information and advice, listening support and advocacy. They will be able to manage conflicting demands with tight deadlines, be a key team player and committed to working with Carers and volunteers.

They will have excellent IT skills and be able to adapt to providing services both face to face and via virtual platforms, whilst maintaining a consistent service for Carers.

Centre Administrator

Job Title - Research Manager

Contract - Permanent

Work pattern - Full time or 0.8 FTE (for flexible working, including term time working)

We are looking for someone who is passionate about using their research and evaluation expertise, including involving children, young people and their families in research, to join our growing Impact and Evaluation team to help improve support for vulnerable children and young people, and ultimately make a positive difference in their lives.

The Impact and Evaluation team sits within Coram’s Institute for Children. Our team consists of 14 Researchers and a Research Coordinator, along with a network of around 15 research associates, pro bono analysts and peer researchers. We carry out qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods research with children and young people, which often involves parents and carers and the professionals who support them.

As a team, are values are to be child-centred, rigorous, grounded in experience, collaborative and impactful. We are dedicated to delivering child-centred research to ensure their voice is at the forefront of our work. We use co-design and participatory research methods to challenge power imbalances within research and work with marginalised groups.

Our work includes a diverse range of evaluation designs from feasibility studies and process evaluations through to large-scale, multi-site experimental and quasi-experimental impact evaluations. We work with a range of partners including Foundations, the Youth Endowment Fund, Department for Education, local authorities, the NHS, and universities as well as other third sector organisations. We also work in-house to support the Coram group of children’s charities to help evaluate their effectiveness and assess the impact of their work.

This role will be based in Coram’s Impact and Evaluation team which sits at the heart of Coram’s Institute for Children dedicated to improving the life chances of children. This role will play an important part in building the Institute and the strategic direction of the team. The role offers exciting opportunities to work within the Coram’s Impact and Evaluation team to lead a portfolio of mixed methods research projects and evaluation studies. As well as build links across Coram as well as externally with research partners and universities to pursue research dedicated to improving the lives of children and young people.

About the role

The Research Manager will play an important role in working with the Head of Impact and Evaluation and across Coram to develop and expand work of the team within Coram’s Institute for Children.

Working within Coram’s growing Impact and Evaluation team (which currently includes eight permanent researchers) the Research Manager will lead the delivery of high quality, innovative qualitative and quantitative studies including externally commissioned research and evaluation to support the improvement of policy and practice for vulnerable children, young people and their families. This will include implementation and process evaluations with children/young people, parents/carers and professionals as well as quasi-experimental and experimental impact evaluations.

We welcome applications from mixed-methods, quantitative and qualitative researchers who have knowledge of a range of research methods and evaluation approaches. We are dedicated to delivering child-centred research to ensure their voice is at the forefront of our work. The Research Manager will work with colleagues across Coram and with external partners in local authorities, central government, businesses and other third sector organisations. They will have the opportunity to shape the work of the Institute by designing new research funding bids, responding to tender opportunities and developing our academic partnerships.

We’re looking for an experienced policy professional to join our Policy and Evidence team to lead our impactful health and care policy activity. You’ll lead a high-performing team operating at the heart of a friendly and supportive directorate with an excellent track record of influencing policy change. Working across a large and varied portfolio, you’ll take the lead in developing and leading our policy positions, campaigns and influencing programmes. 

We have strong relationships across the charity, clinical, and governmental sectors. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate closely with external partners as a thought leader on major issues like access to treatments and neurology services, mental health, community rehabilitation, and support for carers. 

You’ll have a central leadership role across the team in ensuring that our policy work is built around strong evidence, informed by and developed with people living with MS, and drives impactful change.

The Carers Information Service was established in 1997 and is part of the John Whitgift Foundation. We are a small, friendly team dedicated to providing free advice, information and support to carers in Croydon.

Offering a wide range of services including health and wellbeing activities, carer's assessments, respite care, bereavement support, digital and printed publications, meeting room hire and much more. As an Advice and Assessment Worker your main responsibilities will be to carry out Carer’s Assessments, giving advice, information and support to adult carers who are looking after a relative, partner, friend or neighbour of someone who needs help due to illness, disability, or old age.

This role is for 35 hours per week.

As Volunteer Coordinator, you will lead on recruiting, supervising, supporting and developing volunteers, drawing on your own lived experience of Disability to provide a positive role model.

Location: Role may involve some working from home on occasion, but majority of the hours will be supporting volunteers in our office in Anerley, plus attending face to face meetings and events in Bromley Borough and occasionally in London. 

Hours: 14 hours per week (part-time), around volunteer availability and access needs.

Salary: £27,000 per year pro rata to 14 hours per week

Annual leave: 5.6 weeks per year including bank holidays, pro rata

What you will do:

• Proactively look for opportunities to recruit volunteers with lived experience of Disability, by promoting our volunteering opportunities across the borough, supporting stalls at community events and contributing articles celebrating volunteer achievements in our monthly newsletter and on our social media.
• Respond promptly to enquiries about volunteering, engage with individuals to encourage them to volunteer and interview potential volunteers to identify their strengths, interests, development and support needs. 
• Support volunteers to successfully undertake a programme of induction training, agree ongoing task plans for each volunteer to monitor progress, carry out regular one to one meetinghs with volunteers and providing practical support for volunteers to deliver specific tasks and mini projects.
• Co-ordinate regular volunteer team meetings, review volunteer management policies and procedures, take a lead on initiatives such as volunteers week events and volunteer fayres and keep up-to-date records about volunteers and individual progress.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager in the information technology (IT) field, to lead the procurement and implementation of a new Grant Management System software, on a 12 month fixed term contract. About You:

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Family Finding Social Worker or Senior Practitioner wishing to play an active role in the delivery and development of a high-quality family finding service for the London Borough of Hillingdon, for children with a plan for adoption.

The post holder will be one of two professionals responsible for family finding for children with a care plan of adoption within the local area.

The post holder will be part of a small and very supportive team to develop practise and skills in this area. The post holder will also be able to have access resources and services within Hillingdon to support this role and be part of a bigger network of support from colleagues from across the RAA. This role will function as 6 month fixed contract with the possibility of an extension to offer continuity to the children we are family finding for.

Job Purpose:

To lead, co-ordinate, manage and expand our Community Wellbeing Team services for children and families and to ensure the smooth running of these services. To jointly oversee the delivery of services from the Phoenix Youth Centre by YMCA East Surrey and by other partner organisations.

Main Responsibilities:

Service Management & Development • To develop, oversee and expand existing service provision to meet the requirements of the EWMH services contract with Surrey Wellbeing Partnership. Services will be designed around the iThrive framework to deliver information, advice and early intervention for children, young people and families. They will build on existing YMCA East Surrey services

. • To work with the EWMH Manager to develop and implement a business plan across community services. • To manage a team of practitioners and an office administrator, including carrying out regular one-to-ones, annual appraisals, setting objectives and development and training.

• To be the first point of operational contact for the Community Wellbeing Team, including supporting practitioners with risk management and reporting.

• To work collaboratively and effectively with partners across the Surrey Wellbeing Partnership and Mindworks Alliance to keep up to date on and respond to local and emerging needs, to take referrals or refer on/signpost and to share good practice.

• To promote and publicise the Community Wellbeing Team and EWMH services among relevant agencies, referrers, service users and potential service users.

• To manage referrals into the Community Wellbeing Team and ensure that appropriate data is recorded accurately and kept up to date.

• To liaise with families and other professionals about referrals and service provision.

• To jointly oversee the Phoenix Youth Centre so that it is staffed and appropriately maintained to support delivery of both YMCA East Surrey services and services delivered by other organisations.

• To report to and liaise with the EWMH Manager regarding the delivery of the service. • To ensure that client complaints are investigated and dealt with appropriately

. • To work with the EWMH Manager to identify and manage safeguarding and other risks and to liaise with the Designated Safeguarding Lead in line with YMCA East Surrey protocols and team operational process.
