Objectives of this role...
Playing a key role in supporting the charity to achieve its fundraising strategy KPIs, generating income with a key focus on trusts & foundations – supporting Springboard to achieve its annual income target. The role will also contribute to supporting our fundraising team to attract more public funding and support from corporate bodies as and when appropriate. Manage and/or overseeing funding partner accounts ensuring that all reporting and bid writing requirements are submitted to the highest standard; constructing successful funding applications from within the income forecast and pipeline; contributing to building a strong funding pipeline to support the sustainability of the organisation; providing bid writing training opportunities for staff; working with Springboard operations and delivery teams to develop Springboard services and associated budgets to attract funding. Leading and managing the fundraising executive.
A month in the life of…
- Identifying strong funding opportunities contributing to both the income forecast meetings and pipeline requirements – targeting Springboard programme priorities aligned to our strategy.
- Drafting and submitting successful regional and national bids and tenders with a key focus on trusts & foundations. The role will also contribute to supporting the fundraising team to attract targeted public funding opportunities; and corporate income opportunities as and where appropriate.
- Facilitating internal and external stakeholder meetings related to funding and reporting requirements including: research; profiling; design; income targets, budgets and operations.
- Managing and/or allocating our existing funding accounts and renewals to colleagues.
- Liaising with operational and delivery teams to brief on funding contract requirements.
- Providing staff training and supporting fellow bid writers by reviewing and amending content.
- Carrying out 121s, personal development and performance reviews in line with Springboard procedures.

The Benefits Service within SEL Mind supports people with mental health problems to navigate the benefits system and challenge unfair decisions. The service currently operates across Bromley, Lewisham and Greenwich, delivered in partnership with local NHS. It includes dedicated welfare benefits specialists who provide casework support, and a cross-area team of volunteers who assist with form filling and assessments for health and disability benefits.
The Casework Manager will play a key part in the service, providing line-management and supervision to a team of welfare benefits specialists, and on-site supervision for South East London Mind’s weekly form-filling clinic. The post-holder will lead on making sure that we are delivering high-quality and accurate advice in a way which meets the needs of our clients.
We are looking for people with significant experience of working within welfare benefits, including providing representation at appeals, and giving advice on complex entitlement issues. A strong understanding of the needs of people with mental health problems, and experience of management and supervising the work of others (whether staff or volunteers) are also essential to this role.
Successful applicants will be expected to undergo an Enhanced Level Disclosure and Barring Service check.

We are looking for someone both to deliver our immigration casework and to manage and develop our immigration advice services, including recruitment, line management & supervision of relevant staff and volunteers. The post holder will provide one-to-one legal immigration advice, casework and practical support to migrant and refugee clients in Brighton & Hove and Sussex in the areas of out-of-scope immigration and occasionally asylum work (up to OISC L2). You will also provide supervision for L1 and trainee staff and volunteer advisors as required. You will share the management of our broader advice & casework team, including generalist and resettlement casework, with our current generalist and resettlement managers.
You will be accredited to provide immigration advice at minimum OISC Level 2 and expected to carry a caseload of cases largely out of the scope of legal aid. For cases within scope you will make active referrals or signpost to legal aid providers wherever possible and practical.
Along with other managers you will lead on the development of our casework management system, AdvicePro, to ensure that agreed advice and organisational outcomes are embedded from the outset, and that staff and volunteers are trained and equipped to understand and provide these. You will be required to monitor and report against projects as needed by both funders and internally for e.g. the director and trustees.
You will be expected to participate in local networks and to participate and lead on conversations to develop immigration advice capacity in the city and region and to influence change and find solutions to the critical lack of immigration advice on the south coast.
You will have an awareness of clients’ holistic needs and be able to signpost and refer both internally and externally as appropriate to address needs including destitution; asylum support; children’s, family and adult social care; welfare benefits; housing & homelessness; access to mainstream and voluntary sector services including ESOL and employability, health and mental health care; and referrals into activities and services that can respond to people’s strengths and skills as well as their needs, including our own support groups and volunteering opportunities.
You will contribute to the senior management team of Voices, working closely with the Director, Head of Services, Generalist Advice Manager and Resettlement Manager to share oversight and reflections and planning of current operational needs and strategic planning.
You will be expected to contribute to broader learning and planning around developing our strategic plan and theory of change, including developing our work on the role of those with lived experience in our organisation.
We are currently the only free, L2-accredited, year-round provider of out-of-scope immigration advice on the South Coast, and increasing local immigration capacity is critical to address growing demand and changing demographics in the region. We are also seeing and will continue to see new arrivals and needs in the region over the next year and onwards including Hong Kong BNO nationals, Afghans resettled under the ARAP and ACRS schemes, EEA nationals who still have not registered for status, people required to transition to digital eVisas by 31st December 2024, and an increasing number of both newly arrived and established asylum seekers placed in emergency (‘contingency’) and dispersal Home Office accommodation.
Regular supervisions will be provided by the Director, as well as access to external training on specific issues where needed. However you will need to be ready to step immediately into a busy advice environment with the necessary confidence, skills and knowledge both to deliver a complex caseload and to manage a new team through an important moment in the growth of our advice and caseworker service.

Job summary
This role will predominantly support the Service Delivery Managers and Support Officer across the UK in the effective planning and delivery of services to meet the strategic objectives. The postholder will be required to work directly with young people and their families, delivering services in the North of England, alongside assisting the wider team in the administrative tasks involved in organising and setting up services and events.

The Recruitment team is responsible for sourcing, selecting and hiring for 500 places for Approach Social Work (previously known as the Frontline programme) in local authorities across England.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Neighbourhood Services Officer who understands effective management of neighbourhood services and contractors to join our small, but supportive, Housing & Neighbourhoods Team working on all aspects of Neighbourhood and Estates. You will bring your knowledge and experience of conducting routine inspections of neighbourhoods and coordinate with contractors to schedule and oversee cleaning, landscaping, and maintenance activities, including building maintenance, cleaning, maintenance of communal areas, monitoring CCTV. - Conduct routine inspections of neighbourhoods to assess cleanliness and maintenance standards, identifying areas in need of attention.

This is an exciting time to join Myeloma UK as we launch our new five year strategy.
Our portfolio of grant funded research programmes and projects play an important role in achieving our strategic objectives. These programmes aim to discover and share new knowledge, support the development of clinical trials and answer questions of unmet need in myeloma.
The postholder will ensure the development and effective management of the grants portfolio in line with Myeloma UK procedures, ensuring compliance with AMRC guidelines and charity finance requirements. You’ll ensure grant holders deliver on contractual milestones, manage high level relationships with Principal Investigators and will work closely with the Research Advisory Group and any other specialist groups as required.
You will also work with other teams across Myeloma UK to help inform and update our supporter audience on the funded research programme and other research issues.
