Who we are

WE STAND FOR CHILDREN, THEIR CHILDHOODS AND THEIR FUTURES - WILL YOU?

Around the world hundreds of thousands of children struggle to survive on the streets. Wherever they may be in the world, they face violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation - both before and during the time they are seprated from family.

Founded in 1996, Railway Children has dedicated over a quarter of a century to developing outstanding practice and services for children who are vulnerable and at risk. With projects in the UK, India and East Africa, we aim to reach these children as soon as they are in danger and intervene before an abuser can. We beleive that children's development needs are best met within a caring family setting and strive to make that a possibility for all the children and young people we work with. Where it is safe to do so, our youth practitioners and family workers will work intensively with young people and their families to address whatever challenges drove them apart and achieve long-term solutions for the child. We commit to this work for as long as it takes.
