The role

This is an exciting time to be joining UK Youth. We have recently been through a strategy refresh and are now better positioned to deliver on our ambitions that all young people are equipped to thrive and empowered to contribute at every stage of their lives.

This role will lead design projects to shape UK Youth’s support to young people and professionals working with young people. This could include structured youth work programmes, grant funds, professional development programmes, and campaigns.

You will be confident in taking a human-centred-design approach to tackle some of the youth sector’s knottiest problems. You will help to improve the skills and confidence of colleagues across UK Youth to apply design methods in their own work. 

In 2024, our priority topics for youth work programmes and network development are: mental health, employability, youth social action, outdoor learning and physical literacy. 

You will work closely the research, evaluation, policy, service delivery, network development, and fundraising teams. You will meaningfully involve young people and the professionals who support them in the design process. 

You will design solutions to important problems, ensuring that they are feasible, equitable, and impactful.

Experience we're after

• Experience of leading the design of interventions (digital and/or physical) for young people and/or those who support them. 

• Experience of developing proposals to time-limited funding opportunities, including the development of theories of change, project budgets and proposal narratives.

• Experience of managing projects across the end-to-end design process; using human-centred-design methods and mindsets.

• Experience of developing high quality youth work programme content and curricula for young people, youth workers and/or outdoor learning instructors (desirable).

• Experience of designing and delivering professional development programmes (desirable).

• Experience of people management (desirable).

Marketing and Communications Manager – Remote

The role is responsible for delivery of the Mass Participation Events portfolio, providing strategic input and support to grow and develop the portfolio through a range of channels as well as playing a key part in the delivery of key community events throughout the year and liaising with integral and external stakeholders.

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Major Donor Manager to join our team. You will hold responsibility for creating a major donor portfolio for TLC, securing support from High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs) and Philanthropists.

This is TLC’s first Major Donor role. Over the past few years our organisation’s size and reach has grown considerably. We have experienced much success in winning new contracts and generating income from grants and Trusts – however, large and unrestricted donations remain an untapped potential resource for TLC. Job description

This position is full-time, permanent, and based in the ADI office in London. Some international travel for several days at a time will be required. Remote or international applicants may be considered for this role depending on circumstances.

Salary £26,000-£29,000 p.a. (London based)

Main purpose of the role

• Policy: Assisting and strengthening ADI’s policy & advocacy work, supporting campaigns and engagement with multilateral bodies, including the World Health Organization and United Nations, and supporting member associations in national level advocacy work with government and key stakeholders

Skills knowledge and experience

Essential:

• Experience in policy and advocacy, including helping develop evidence-based policy positions and recommendations.
• Experience in preparing for and supporting stakeholder meetings. Fluency in English with an ability to analyse and write clearly and concisely about complex issues and to varying audiences.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Regional Casework Manager to join the Greater London Region at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. 

You will be part of the regional office team, managing two Regional Casework Co-ordinators, which will provide specialist administrative and single point of contact support to SSAFA branch-based volunteers, to ensure a consistent, timely and quality service is provided to SSAFA beneficiaries.  The role will require you to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with volunteers, including branch-based casework managers.  At times, the role will require support to the Regional Casework Co-ordinators with call handling, signposting, and the triage of initial enquiries from clients. 

To help you establish yourself in this post you will receive excellent training and induction to SSAFA.  You will influence the processes and procedures within the regional office as it develops, working in a close team and line managed by the Regional Operations Manager. 

The post is home-based, but you will have to travel occasionally into London. 

About the team 

The regional office is a “virtual” office and supports three SSAFA branches in the Greater London region, as the volunteers deliver casework for SSAFA beneficiaries.  The successful candidate will work as part of a support team which includes two Regional Casework Co-ordinators and a Regional Operations Manager.  All team members are home based.

About you 

To be successful in this role you will have a good standard of education, experience of managing employees, together with managing and reporting on service delivery.  You will have a track record of building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, together with achieving results through negotiation and influence.  Previous experience of working with volunteers would be an asset.  You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard and be capable of quickly learning a computerised case management system and be proficient with numbers.  The successful candidate will have experience of planning and managing their own workload, with minimal supervision. 

It would be advantageous to have an understanding of the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families. An understanding of the voluntary sector would be valuable, and the military charity sector landscape across London would be helpful.  Commitment to SSAFA’s values including equality, diversity and inclusion is vital.

Grants and Trusts Manager

We are seeking a Grants and Trusts Manager to join our Fundraising team and lead on gaining income from grant-making bodies.

The aim of this amazing charity is to help improve the lives of young people in Burnt Oak by giving them ‘somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to’. If you have a passion for putting young people first, we want to hear from you!

Position: Grants and Trusts Manager

Location: Burnt Oak, London. This is a hybrid position, though for an exceptional candidate we may consider fully-remote

Salary: £40,000 - £42,000 per annum FTE (pro rata-ed depending on number of days a week the successful candidate contracts to)

Hours: Permanent, 4 days a week (32 hours, 0.8 FTE). Hours worked are flexible and certainly you are not tied to “9-5”. We will also consider applications from someone wishing to work 3 days a week (24 hours, 0.6 FTE)

About the role:

A part of the Fundraising team, as Grants and Trusts Manager you will lead on gaining income from grant-making bodies. You will line manage the Grants and Trusts Officer, and will need to develop strong relationships with the Delivery team, so you can match their funding needs to the right funder and get the right information from them to ensure a high quality of reporting.

Other key responsibilities will include:

· Overseeing a pipeline of grants and trusts applications, re-applications and reporting

· Working closely with the Delivery team to ensure the right bids are being submitted

· Working with the Impact and Insight Officer to shape monitoring and evaluation strategy and practice

· Leading tours and face-to-face and online meetings with Foundation staff and Trustees

· Working within the broader Fundraising team, supporting colleagues and department-wide projects

About you:

To be successful in the role of Grants and Trusts Manager you will have experience of trust and grant bid writing within a professional setting.

You will also need to bring with you the following skills and experience:

· Produce compelling asks and proposals in line with the charity's objectives and the funders requirements

· Experience of gathering, understanding and presenting complex information and data

· Experience of working within a charity fundraising environment

· Experience of cultivating relationships with funders, both via verbal and written methods of communication

· Ability to prioritise tasks, manage own time and achieve strict / multiple deadlines

· High level of IT competence, excellent internet research skills and database management

· Motivated to improve young people’s lives for the better

• A minimum of three years’ major donor fundraising experience for a charity.
• Proven track record of securing five-figure and six-figure gifts from major donors.

• Writing compelling funding applications/ proposals that match donors’ interests with CSW’s mission and activities.
