We are recruiting an experienced horticultural consultant who is passionate about involving the community in growing plants and seasonal produce. The Community Gardener will support with the planting and harvesting of fresh, seasonal and organic produce over the busy growing season over the Summer months. The consultant will support with providing volunteers, residents and families to understand the practicalities of gardening and horticultural practices.

You will be responsible for planning and facilitating educational workshops, leading volunteers, coordinating the weekly garden market and helping to maintain the garden over the summer period. These workshops and sessions will focus on teaching basic gardening skills, with an emphasis on plant cultivation and habitat development. Additionally, you are encouraged to incorporate creative elements from your expertise, such as foraging or making seasonal jams and chutneys.

What we’re looking for in our Senior Individual Giving Officer (Acquisition):

• Extensive experience in an Individual Giving or similar role, ideally working with agencies in the third sector
• Experience in leading the organisation of projects/activities or schedules
• Experience in budget management, ideally with multiple income and expenditure items
• Proven track record of achieving income against agreed financial targets, and measuring against KPIs
• Experience of at least some broad-based fundraising, such as Direct Mail, DRTV, telephone, digital or face-to-face fundraising

Main Purpose

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for coordinating volunteer recruitment and selection, using innovative opportunities to engage with others and encourage participation. About the Role

You will be joining us at an exciting time as we reopen services that unfortunately closed due to the pandemic. As a coordinator, you will focus and lead on developing and delivering our community service across the East Riding of Yorkshire through drop-ins offering:

• practical hearing aid support
• information on hearing loss and tinnitus
• hearing checks

You will be responsible for co-ordinating up to 15 drop-in services and be able to recruit, train and manage a team of up to 30 volunteers to deliver the service across East Riding of Yorkshire.

You will: 

1. Coordinate our volunteering team to deliver a high level of service at our RNID Near You drop-in sessions.
2. Recruit volunteers across the East Riding of Yorkshire to strengthen existing sessions and open new sessions as required.
3. Work with NHS audiology to induct and train our volunteers to high standards.
4. Promote our sessions to ensure maximum engagement from local hearing-aid users.
5. Ensure all paperwork is processed correctly and reports to stakeholders are timely completed.

You want to make a difference in people’s lives and love to interact with various audiences, including volunteers, health & care professionals, and service users. This team delivers inspiring fundraising campaigns to attract new supporters and build relationships with our existing donors. You'll also be responsible for overseeing the delivery of one of the UK's most well-known fundraising appeals: the Great Daffodil Appeal. By overseeing some of our biggest organisational fundraising moments you will be pivotal in the generation of income and support for Marie Curie.

Marie Curie has ambitious plans to double the number of people we can provide direct care and support to over the next five years. As the Individual Giving Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing our cash giving strategy and leading key fundraising moments, including our annual Christmas appeal and the Great Daffodil Appeal.

Your efforts will help ensure that everyone affected by dying, death, and bereavement has the best possible experience, reflecting what's important to them. You will manage a team of 6 and oversee the delivery of over £3.5m net income annually, making a significant impact on our fundraising goals.

Main responsibilities:
- Establish a clear direction and plan to achieve net contribution growth for Marie Curie.
- Promote cross-organisational collaboration to embed our integrated appeals approach and oversee the full experience of the product audience.
- Manage and oversee the allocation and prioritisation of projects to deliver the product strategy.
- Manage 6 direct reports, setting clear objectives and providing development opportunities.
- Develop ways of working to ensure high performance and an excellent supporter experience.
- Develop appropriate systems and procedures to meet statutory and organisational requirements, allowing the Cash Team to run effectively.

Key Criteria:
- Solid understanding of direct marketing and fundraising principles, fundraising rules and regulations, and the external charity environment.
- Proven experience in building strategic plans, ensuring progression of objectives, and project delivery success.
- Previous people management experience with demonstrable ability to lead high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills with the ability to build good relationships at multiple levels.
- Practical knowledge of campaign management, managing marketing budgets, monitoring, and using data effectively to drive results.
