The Help for Heroes Community Development team are looking to recruit a team of Community Builders to assist in their reshaped participation and connection strategy. Using Asset Based Community Development, we seek to support the charity’s objective to enhance reach and positive impact for members of the Armed Forces Community facing challenges within their local communities.

Working closely with Community Development Managers across regions within the UK, the Community Builders will play a vital role in helping to improve lives for Armed Forces Community members by creating a supportive environment that allows them to re-engage and connect with the services at Help for Heroes and with the wider community. 

The main purpose of this role is to connect local people through their skills, passions and assets and support the creation of new connections, bringing people together to improve wellbeing and make the community a better place to live. This will include listening to different points of views, building relationships and motivating people to work together and create their own action influenced by their interests and skillsets to positively impact local communities and help them to flourish.

About You

You will have experience leading and facilitating the mobilisation of local communities, asset mapping, bringing together people for engagement that matters to them. You will have knowledge and experience of Asset Based Community Development work, outreach methods and you will have good organisational skills, energy and the ability to animate local communities. 

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver outreach to drive local connection, engagement and participation opportunities for the AFC 

• Develop and embed an ABCD informed way of work

Purpose of the Job 

Hammersmith and Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow Mind run an innovative crisis prevention service designed as a place for children and young people at risk of mental health crises to de-escalate and have access to a skilled staff team to support them. The Circle is open out of hours (3pm-11pm or 12pm-8pm weekends and holidays), 365 days a year, and has been designed to reduce the need for young people to attend A&E. Co-designed by young people, it is a friendly and accessible space.The mental health adviser role is key to the support that children and young people will receive on site, and you will have the opportunity to work with 5-18 year olds, as well as providing signposting and support to parents/carers and other agencies.

This Mental Health Adviser role would suit an experienced Mental Health Youth Worker, CAMHS support worker, Youth Counsellor, Child Wellbeing Practitioner, Emotional Wellbeing Practitioner, an Assistant Psychologist with some training in MH interventions like CBT,  or other roles that have given you experience and skills in  working with Children and Young People presenting with difficulties related to their Mental Health.

Key Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team dedicated to providing support to children and young people who are at risk of mental health crisis, or may otherwise attend A&E.
• Offer one to one support via drop in or appointments, and be child-centred in that support.
• Work alongside children and young people, their parents/carers and families in increasing self-management of presenting difficulties.
• Signpost anyone accessing the service to appropriate and local on-going support; and build up your knowledge and networks of such support.
• Understand and implement safeguarding procedures, and be familiar with safeguarding law, and how it applies to our work.

You will have:

• A minimum of two years’ experience of supporting children and/young people in a mental health service or similar role in a paid or volunteer capacity, in a 1:1 and group setting

The Senior Public Affairs and Research Officer will be critical in advancing FareShare’s policy agenda, as outlined in the manifesto. Working closely with the Public Affairs, Policy and Campaigns Consultant, you will lead efforts to engage influential stakeholders, create compelling content, and coordinate high-impact events. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence national policy and contribute to meaningful change in the food redistribution sector.

The Immigration Adviser at LAH will provide advice and assistance on basic visa and immigration matters, including handling straightforward cases, often referred to as "initial advice" or "entry-level advice." Main purpose and scope of role

Working closely with the President and the Board of Trustees, the CEO will provide strategic vision and leadership and will strive to ensure that IPWSO delivers its charitable purposes and remains successful and sustainable.

Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not limited to)

Leadership

· Strive to ensure that the charitable purposes of IPWSO are followed and that it delivers the public benefit set out in its governing document.

· Take overall responsibility for the management and administration of IPWSO.

· Provide support and information to the Board of Trustees to enable trustees to fulfil their roles and legal responsibilities.

· Pursue close cooperation with, and accountability to, IPWSO’s members.
