Job Summary 

The primary role of the Area Dean’s PA is to provide high quality and professional administrative support to the Area Dean of Hackney in their work. The job requires someone who is a self-starter, who is able to prioritise a busy workload, meet deadlines and work as part of a dynamic team.  

Job responsibilities 

PA duties  

• To support Area Deans with the administrative aspects of the Hackney and Islington Projects: Hackney Area Dean oversees the catholic mission stream of work

• To support the Area Dean with administration related to their parish and deanery responsibilities in partnership with local colleagues, ensuring that all documents and briefing materials are prepared and collated.

• Dealing sensitively and confidentially with mail, email and telephone calls. To respond as far as possible on the Area Dean’s behalf, and, where appropriate, draft emails and letters.

General Duties  

• To develop and maintain efficient filing systems, both in hard copy and electronically.

• To be responsible for the ordering of office supplies and equipment.

Support to Mission Project  

• Assist the Area Dean with organising meetings with colleagues, planning mission and training events

• Liaise with the Archdeacon and Dean of Mission and Associate Area Dean

• Communications with the Stepney Area Team.

• Provide administrative support to the Parish and Deanery (rotas, minutes, agendas etc) in a way that releases capacity of the ministry of the Area Dean

• Processing of Area Dean’s expenses.

Finance 

• Support the parish finance processes where required.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As Philanthropic Programs Director, you will lead and keep developing AIM's Impactful Grantmaking training program and oversee our five funding circles. Your primary responsibility will be outreach, program facilitation, and hands-on philanthropic advising for the twice-annual 9-week cohorts of funders giving over $1M annually.

This is a fairly senior position with high stakes, a lot of potential for development, and outstandingly high potential for impact, and thus best suited to an individual with at a minimum 3-5 years of experience and some deep prior expertise in the philanthropic sector.

You will work closely with the Philanthropic Programs Manager in a two-person program team. You will decide collaboratively at the start of your tenure how to divide and/or share responsibilities in the categories below, as well as how to take care of operations and ad hoc tasks and projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Facilitation (~40%)

• Deliver program content in an engaging and accessible manner

• Develop weekly lesson plans and discussion topics for a 9-week program Zoom calls

• Conduct thought-provoking and productive 1:1 coaching sessions with participants for 30 minutes weekly throughout the program.

• Prepare for and run the weekly group calls going through topics covered in our foundation handbook

Outreach and Public-Facing Work (~30%)

• Conduct regular calls with philanthropists, advisors, and other philanthropic professionals to maintain a strong presence in the sector

• Serve as the initial point of contact for new funders interested in or referred to the program, effectively communicating its value without being overly sales-oriented

• Scope and test the best ways to find new prospective participants who would benefit from our program and cause a large amount of impact

Program Operations Support (~10%)

• Contribute to iterative improvement of program content, adapting based on feedback, evaluation, and tailoring for the upcoming cohort composition

APPLICATION PROCESS

Our application processes aim to be highly predictive, time-effective, and informative for you. Our process consists only of stages that our best evidence suggests are predictive of success on the job (such as test tasks) rather than more common but less predictive stages (such as cover letters). The Fight for Peace Life Champions course is an online course for sports coaches who want to learn how to use their sport as a tool for youth development. We’re delighted to be working with an ambitious international development charity who are searching for a Head of Fundraising. The charity supports individuals with mobility challenges to live a full life. The Head of Fundraising will focus on developing and expanding their portfolio of individual donors, trusts and foundations and corporate partners. This is also a great role for someone looking to step up into a Head of role for the first time.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for leading the strategy, a small team and the stewardship and re-engagement of the charity’s current portfolio of high-value individual donors, trusts and corporate partners. You’ll also work directly with Programme Managers to create compelling new funding proposals to pitch to new partners.

To be successful in the Head of Fundraising role, you’ll need:

• Experience managing a relationships with high-networth-individuals, corporates and trusts and foundations, taking a relationship-led approach.
• Experience of researching new prospective donors and writing and pitching of funding proposals.
• Ability to work proactively and independently to drive growth in an organisation
• An eagerness to develop your management experience

Salary: £46,000 - £54,000

We are delighted to be working with an excellent disability charity, Mencap, who are looking for a Senior Partnership Manager to join their organisation. The charity is passionate about making the UK the best place for people with a learning disability to live happy and healthy lives.

This position will lead in delivering Mencap’s programme of high-value and multi-year partnerships. You will work across new business, and account management, implementing account plans for each partner. You will map opportunities to secure introduction and income through the existing portfolio, and will develop and secure new business opportunities circa £30k plus. As part of the role you will also ensure personal and team KPIs are met to guarantee that account management targets are achieved.

To be a successful Senior Partnership Manager, you will need:

• Proven experience in managing varied portfolios of six-figure partnerships.
• Understanding of corporate partnerships and how to identify, research and manage potential partnerships, as well growing existing relationships, internally and externally.
• Demonstrable experience in managing a pipeline and securing new business.

Salary: £40,000 to £44,000

Working for a large, well-renowned organisation as an Assistant Management Accountant. This role sits within a mission-driven environment, where employees often find their work aligned with a sense of purpose. This is a 2-year FTC which offers flexible hybrid working with 2 days required in the office per week.
Your new role

• Reporting to the Management Accountant.
• Producing regular monthly journals, including intercompany recharges, accruals and prepayments etc.
• Assisting with the production of monthly management accounts/budget holder reports for designated departments.
• Undertaking preliminary variance analysis between budgets, forecasts and actuals and drafting variance commentary.
• Calculating, recording, monitoring and payment of grants.
• Investigating discrepancies and unexpected variances, making corrections if required.
• Undertaking ad-hoc analysis.
• Assisting in review and preparation of phased budgets, financial plans and forecasts and loading budgets and forecasts into SAP.

What you'll need to succeed

• Strong Excel skills and experience with manipulating large volumes of data.
• Experience of working in the finance function of a large organisation, including in a management accounting context.
• Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and basic accounting adjustments such as accruals, prepayments and fixed assets.
• Either part-qualified or looking to start studying.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to prioritise, remain calm under pressure, meet deadlines and have a flexible approach to work.
