We are recruiting a Corporate Fundraising Executive to join our Corporate Engagement Team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves to build relationships and is an engaging communicator to make a significant impact for our hospices. This role plays an important part in the Corporate Engagement team and will support the development of our corporate partnerships programme through a wide variety of corporate fundraising methods, including successful account management, special events and new business development.

This role will work to support all three hospices; Martlets, Chestnut Tree House and St Barnabas, who together reach patients and families across Sussex and southeast Hampshire.

About the position

The GMS Support Manager will be responsible for leading on the day-to-day operations of the Freedom Fund’s new Salesforce Grant Management System. The project to develop the new GMS is currently in progress, with user training expected to take place in January 2025 and the Go Live planned for February 2025.  The transition to the new system will be a significant change in the organisation’s way of working; currently the Freedom Fund’s grant management process is manual and spread over multiple different platforms.

Initially, the focus of the role will be on supporting the Freedom Fund staff as they transition to using the new system, including assisting with user training and working with the implementation partner Hyphen8 to identify and resolve any issues that arise. Following Go Live, the GMS Support Manager will be responsible for leading on administration and maintenance of the system, requiring a good technical knowledge of how Salesforce works. The role will be responsible for user training and support, leading on staff consultation for future system developments and prioritising requests. The successful candidate will also act as the main point of contact between the Freedom Fund and implementation partner Hyphen8 for both ongoing support and future development phases. 

Responsibilities 

• Support the roll-out of the Freedom Fund’s new Grant Management System, including supporting Hyphen8 with user training and troubleshooting any issues that arise during the transition.

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the Salesforce system; including system performance, change control and user support 

• Support the day-to-day administrative functions and configuration including user management, permissions, sharing rules, objects, fields, page layouts, record types, custom settings, reports and dashboards 

• Be proactive in system maintenance including keeping up with Salesforce releases, features and best practices 

• Be the key point of contact between Freedom Fund and Hyphen8 

• Understand the Freedom Fund’s needs and work with Hyphen8 (as appropriate) and staff to meet changes 

• Decide how best to direct the core support hours provided by Hyphen8 during version upgrades in order to achieve the best results 

• Understand and own the Freedom Fund’s Salesforce architecture including the data model, integrations (including with the finance system), reporting and analytics 

• Maintain data quality by monitoring data and addressing the procedural issues which lead to loss of quality 

• Promote the use of Salesforce across the Freedom Fund, optimising the return on investment in this capability 

• Interpret and prioritise requests for GMS development and support 

• Work with colleagues across the Freedom Fund to understand business needs, finding a suitable mixture of support, challenge and direction to enable colleagues to get the most from the GMS 

• Deliver end user support and training to help colleagues use the system effectively 

• Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and internal policies

• Train Freedom Fund IT Officer on core functionality of the new GMS

We are looking for a self-motivated individual to lead our Programmes Team whilst our current Director of Programmes is on maternity leave. The role will be fixed term from December 2024 until January 2026, although there may be further opportunities beyond the length of the contract depending on organisational growth.

The Director of Programmes will be a key member of CoachBright’s Senior Management Team, and will have input on both operational and strategic decision making. Whilst we will expect your input on matters relating to programme delivery and impact, all members of SMT are expected to contribute to decision making across the organisation. As a result, the role is an excellent opportunity to get genuine leadership experience at an educational charity, with the opportunity to report directly to our board of trustees depending on growth in the role.

The primary responsibility for the Director of Programmes will be to recruit school partners for our EEF trial, with delivery beginning September 2025. This trial is to test the impact our Peer to Peer coaching programme (Y10s coaching Y7s) can have on the maths attainment of disadvantaged pupils. The trial will require us to recruit 100 participating schools, 50 of whom will receive the intervention, with another 50 allocated to a control group.

Working alongside the CEO and the Programmes Team Leader, you will create and execute a strategy to recruit new schools as participants to this trial. As a result, experience of managing sales or partnerships with schools, or existing connections with senior leaders at secondary schools and multi-academy trusts, would be beneficial.

Alongside this, you will line manage our current Programmes Team Leader, who directly line manages our team of Programme Managers. From Sept 2025, we are expecting our Programmes Team to grow, and you will play a key role in recruiting for that expanded team. At that point, we would expect you to begin line managing a small number of Programme Managers directly.

• Write and execute the strategy to deliver our EEF trial. This will primarily involve recruiting and onboarding 100 schools to participate from January 2025 through to July 2025, for programmes to begin in September 2025.

Programme Delivery

• Overseeing the management of programme delivery in schools to meet KPIs, predominantly those related to our EEF trial.

  • Simplifying and automating tasks via our Monday platform. 

  • Joining up all strands of programme delivery (school induction, launch, training, impact measurement, sessions, graduation and review).

• Ensure that programmes team adhere to CoachBright’s safeguarding, health and safety and GDPR policies and procedures.

• Ensure systems and processes are working for the Programmes Team to effectively deliver programmes.

Volunteer recruitment and training

• Alongside the Team Leader, oversee and provide input on our volunteer recruitment plan, in order to deliver our Core programmes. (Distinct from our Peer to Peer programmes, our Core programmes feature undergraduate volunteers coaching, rather than senior pupils).

Programme Design and Impact

• Project manage the development of programme resources including workshops, session plans and launch and graduation materials, particularly those related to the EEF trial.

• Work with our Data & Impact Manager to capture programme impact via feedback forms, Impact Reports and Annual Reports.

Safeguarding

• Act as CoachBright’s National Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).

• Support the National DSL in developing and establishing CoachBright’s organisation’s approach to safeguarding.

• Support the National DSL with the coordination of the distribution of policies, procedures and safeguarding resources throughout the organisation.

• Provide safeguarding advice and support to staff and volunteers.

• Manage safeguarding concerns, allegations or incidents escalated up.

• Provide strategic communications input on people-related projects including activities coming out of our new People Strategy  
• Work closely with the People and Culture team in a business partnering approach, providing strategic advice and delivering communications for projects

Skills and Experience

This is a hands-on delivery role working in a fast paced and busy environment. You must be able to manage multiple projects and prioritise workload: 

• Substantive demonstrable experience delivering internal communications, preferably in the non-profit sector  
• Excellent copy-writing and copy-editing skills, with ability to flex tone as required and attention to detail - such as staff emails/updates, briefing & speaker notes for leadership, staff newsletter, PPT presentations & agendas 
• Project Management of different projects in an effective way 
• Comfortable flexing between strategic thinking and day-to-day delivery  
• Confident working with senior leadership and managing stakeholders 
• Ability to organise staff events onsite and externally – planning, logistics, tech & AV support, itineraries & presentations 
• Excellent at building relationships, collaborative with a win-win approach to negotiating  
• Comfortable with emerging ways of working, and working across teams  
• Ability to brief and manage external agencies – including collating & managing feedback

About the Team:

The International Programmes Department is made up of four regions: East Africa, West Africa, Southern Africa, and South Asia; and three support teams: Programme Support and Knowledge team, the Programme Funding and Partnerships Team and the Programme Operations Team. The International Programmes Department delivers our work across Africa and South Asia focusing on quality programming including advocacy, learning and documentation.

About the Role:

The Senior Manager will manage a process through which Country Programmes (CPs) can access the human resources required to deliver their programme and project objectives effectively and efficiently. This will include working closely with CPs and regional offices to diagnose support needs and identify support options available. Additionally, the Manager will be expected to adopt a CP centred approach to decision making on support provisions and to manage an independent mechanism for quality assurance of the support provision to the CPs.

Following a recent Scoping Study and a process of consultation across the organisation about how such a model would work, the procedures and mechanisms within WaterAid that will be required as part of the Advisory and Support Hub model are currently being developed. The Advisory and Support Hub Manager will be required to:

• Manage the process of piloting the model in one selected region, if required.
• Review the lessons learnt from piloting the model and make recommendations on further improvements that may be required.
• Coordinate the roll-out of the model across the organisation.
• Manage the process of requesting, identifying, deploying, and reviewing assignments.
• Be responsible for maintaining the database or expertise both internal and external to WaterAid.
• Liaise closely with external sources of expertise such as partner and support organisations, international consultants and former WaterAid employees.
• Be responsible for establishing and leading quality review and feedback of support and advice provided.

About You:

• Proven experience in business and project management, preferably in technical support services or related role.
• Ability to manage service provision involving short-term simultaneous assignments to deliver support on time and within budget, using in-house staff and/or consultants (institutions and/or self-employed individuals).
• Proven experience of managing change processes.
• Experience of working with institutions in low- and middle-income countries.
• Effective communication skills and demonstrated experience of managing and motivating others and driving change.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work across cultures and to develop good relationships with diverse clients and international collaborators. An ability to achieve this through web-based communication platforms (Zoom and MS Teams, etc.) and working at a distance without face-to-face meetings.
• Analytical thinking and data-driven approach to decision making.
• A degree-level qualification in a related field.
• Good written and oral communication and reporting skills in English is essential.
• An ability to speak French would be an advantage.

Although not essential, we also prefer you to have:

• Experience of working in international development
• Experience of working in a self-funding or commercial environment
• Knowledge of water supply, sanitation, and hygiene
• A working knowledge of Portuguese would be an advantage.
