We are seeking a Wilder Communities Officer (Basingstoke, Winchester and Petersfield) to join our cause.  

We need to create a wilder Hampshire and a wilder Isle of Wight. Wildlife is in freefall both locally and nationally and we need many, many more people on nature’s side if we are to tip the balance in favour of nature’s recovery. 

We need a talented community organiser to work with us on an exciting project to help wildlife flourish in urban areas across Winchester, Basingstoke and Petersfield and bring people together to tackle the climate and nature emergencies, as part of Team Wilder. This person will be working with and supporting communities, individuals, local groups and volunteers across Hampshire. 

The role will focus on catalysing and supporting self-sustaining community led initiatives to support wildlife –this could be anything from greening community spaces or streets, improving areas for particular wildlife such as pollinators, bats, swifts or hedgehogs to setting up groups to tackle problems such as litter or household pollution or influencing others, including local government and businesses, to take action. This role will also require key partnership engagement and the ability to see opportunities to link Wilder to existing and emerging third-party initiatives. This role sits within the Advocacy and Engagement team and will work with others in the team and across the Trust to help build Team Wilder as a key strand of the Trust’s strategy.

About this key role

Our successful candidate will provide person-centred support to a caseload of service users who will either be serving community sentences or being released from prison.  This will involve undertaking assessment and action planning with individual service users which will result in timely and prescribed outcomes being achieved, and creating a safe and trusting environment, using trauma informed practice to successfully facilitate a supportive and constructive relationship with service users.  You will deliver a range of interventions to service users, including group work sessions where required, and work with service users flexibly, meeting and undertaking interventions in a range of prescribed locations across a wide geographical area.

We will also rely on you to develop and maintain positive working relationships with external agencies including Probation, Prisons and partners, and work towards contractual targets and outcomes within agreed timescales and in line with specified quality standards.  Using agreed CRM databases, recording all activity relating to caseload and ensuring all information is recorded within agreed deadlines are all also vital aspects of the role.

What we are looking for

• Experience in working with partner agencies either as part of a multi-agency team working towards common objectives or negotiating to establish links to further the aims of a project
• L3 qualification in Advice and Guidance or equivalent
• A sound knowledge of the requirements of managing a caseload
• An understanding of the barriers faced by people with complex and multiple needs

Purpose of Role

As a Senior PR Officer, you will play an important role in planning and delivering creative national and regional PR strategies to promote fundraising and partnership activities for Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day 2025 campaign, that inspire people to get involved and demonstrate the life changing work donations make possible. 

You will work across a broad and exciting range of projects that creatively combine the worlds of entertainment and charity whilst driving income, awareness, and brand consideration at a time when the charity gets set to celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2025.

You will need to have a thorough understanding of the UK media landscape, feel confident in approaching journalists with new ideas and have proven success in generating quality print, online and broadcast coverage at both a regional and national level. 

Running Comic Relief’s busy Press Office alongside PR campaigns is a responsibility shared by all team members. You will be required to take an active role in managing media enquiries in a timely and accurate manner, media monitoring and evaluation, and join the on-call rota for out-of-hours and weekend support. 

This role may require occasional UK wide travel to manage media opportunities. 

Key responsibilities:

Join the on-call rota alongside other members of the team for out-of-hours and weekend cover

Hours of Work

Hours of work are 35 hours per week, 09:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday.

Frequent travel to meet and interview beneficiaries will be required, along with a willingness to work outside normal office hours to obtain the story.

The RSPB, Europe’s leading nature conservation NGO, is seeking a Director of Supporter Fundraising to lead the charity’s work in recruiting and stewarding the next generation of individual supporters to help address the nature and climate emergency.

The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) is a charity for the conservation of birds and nature, bringing people together who love birds and other wildlife, and who want to take action to restore the health and diversity of the natural world. The charity now manages and protects 160,000 hectares of land across the four countries of the UK.

Public support has been at the centre of RSPB’s work since its foundation as a campaigning organisation in 1889. With 1.1 million current members contributing over £95m to the charity’s cause in 2024, the RSPB has set itself a bold ambition to increase supporter numbers and net income from this core area.

Working closely with the Executive Director for Income and Conservation Investment and other senior stakeholders across RSPB, the Director of Supporter Fundraising will ensure that the organisation maintains and increases its income in membership, individual giving, legacies, in memoriam and community fundraising. The role will be responsible for a large team working to develop new strategies and to engage and grow a diverse supporter base, enabling the charity to inspire long-term support and active engagement with their work.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in growing a large and complex individual giving or subscription programme across multiple products and channels. They will also have demonstrable experience of leading successful organisational transformation to create long-term value, as well as of leading projects within a complex stakeholder or matrix management environment. Significant experience in individual supporter fundraising or consumer marketing through direct marketing techniques will be essential.

As a leader, the successful candidate will have strong collaboration skills with the ability to inspire, develop and motivate teams to achieve challenging goals in a variety of contexts. They will also be able to use their networking and interpersonal skills to build excellent internal and external relationships and must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-performing environment. Finally, they will have a commitment to the values and vision of RSPB and to mobilising support for a thriving natural world.

WaterAid UK Internal Communications and Engagement Partner

Contract: Permanent, Part Time (3 or 4 days per week)

Location: The role can be based in the UK or one of the following WaterAid Country Programmes - Nigeria, Kenya, or South Africa (Pretoria), subject to right-to-work eligibility in the respective countries.
If the successful candidate is based in the UK, the contract base would be in Canary Wharf, London. We support and enjoy a hybrid working environment. A minimum of 40% of working time is spent face to face, either in the London office for coordination, collaboration and connectivity across the team, or as a result of external engagement or travel for WaterAid.

About the Team:
This role reports into the WaterAid UK People Director, with a dotted line into the Global Internal Communications and Engagement Lead. As our strategic and creative WaterAid UK Internal Communications and Engagement Partner, you will play a crucial role in the newly formed WaterAid UK People Team. The WaterAid UK People Team supports the whole of WaterAid UK - this includes staff in the UK office, UK country programmes and regional offices.

About the Role:
You will play a vital role in ensuring our internal communications inspire and inform WaterAid UK staff, both within the UK and across Africa and South Asia. Your focus will be to foster a sense of engagement, inclusion, and connection amongst staff - helping them feel linked to each other, the global organisation, and our shared purpose. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to creating a positive and fulfilling employee experience for all WaterAid UK staff.
In this role, you will serve as a strategic business partner and trusted advisor to key senior leaders in WaterAid UK, including the Chief Executive for WaterAid UK. You will provide guidance and coaching, working closely with them to craft internal communications that foster trust and enhance employee engagement across the organisation.

You'll also:

• Create engaging content relevant for WaterAid UK staff, including news stories for WaterAid's intranet, videos, visual assets etc.
• Provide counsel and deliver informative, accurate and sensitive internal communications in the event of a crisis impacting WaterAid UK.
• Manage the WaterAid UK webinar and events calendar
• Partner with the WaterAid UK People Director on follow-up and support to WaterAid UK on WaterAid's annual employee engagement surveys.
• Lead on the engagement approach for WaterAid UK Alumni
• Project lead any internal communications and engagement projects for WaterAid UK, including the WaterAid UK long service recognition awards.
• Proactively maintain expert knowledge about latest trends in internal communication and employee engagement and use this to support the creation of effective, inclusive and impactful internal communications for WaterAid UK

• Proven experience of providing strategic internal communications support to senior leaders
• Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to build collaborative and trusting relationships with a wide variety of contacts across WaterAid UK.

This is an exciting time to join our small team as we embark on several projects to increase our reach and impact in the community. Your role as a Debt Outreach Advisor will include working with community organisations in inner city and east Bristol to support clients who are experiencing financial issues and working as part of the Bristol Court Advisory Network to provide debt advice to people facing eviction.

You will have proven experience within a similar advisor role, and outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written. You will demonstrate a detailed knowledge of relevant law and practice and show empathy and understanding of the issues faced by our clients.  You will have experience of working in local communities, preferably in a bilingual context. You will also be able to show us that you have excellent problem solving, organisational and team working skills.
