What the job involves

We’re on the lookout for a Legacy and In Memory Executive to join our Individual Giving Team here at Prostate Cancer UK. This role focuses on legacy and in-memory giving - including gifts in wills which are some of the most meaningful contributions we receive, helping us fund research that will save and improve lives.

In this role you’ll be part of an exciting time at the charity, joining us as we roll out our new Fundraising Strategy and start developing new products. You’ll be delivering thoughtful, well-timed and engaging communications to a variety of audiences, helping us reach new supporters and deepen relationships with those already connected to us. Your work will play a vital part in raising awareness, encouraging supporters to consider leaving a gift in their Will, and providing meaningful ways to remember loved ones.

Working closely with our Legacy and In Memory Manager, you’ll help manage relationships with external agencies and collaborate with both internal teams and external partners to make sure our plans are delivered smoothly and successfully. It’s a role where your creativity, empathy and organisation will all come into play.

You’ll also be responsible for the operational duties of the Prostate Cancer Memorial Sculpture – a poignant tribute to the dads, grandads, brothers and friends we’ve lost to prostate cancer, and a place for families and communities to reflect, remember and raise awareness.

The Talent Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the Foundation’s Talent Hub. The role will work closely with and support the Head of Talent & Inclusion to deliver the Foundation’s talent management strategy. The role will coordinate and evaluate internal learning and development initiatives, fostering a structured learning culture that supports a high-performing workforce.  

Additionally, the Talent Coordinator will support the Talent Acquisition Specialist in managing the Talent Acquisition strategy, process and procedures, including recruitment campaigns, ensuring alignment with the recruitment policy and creating a seamless candidate experience. 
 

Key Responsibilities

Learning & Development – Plan, Coordinate, and Deliver 

• Collaborate with the Head of Talent & Inclusion and key stakeholders to implement and assess the Learning & Development (L&D) plan, ensuring it meets mandatory requirements, employee needs, and aligns with the organisation’s values and culture. 
• Work with external suppliers to develop high-quality learning content. 
• Ensure effective coordination of training to support employee growth and career progression. 
• Co-ordinate the delivery of an ongoing leadership and management development programme, in partnership with external providers, targeting first and second-level line managers. 
• Lead on the management and coordination of external L&D suppliers, implementing robust performance management measures to ensure cost-effectiveness. 
• Guide staff towards relevant L&D resources and collaborate with People Business Partners to encourage continuous professional development. 
• Process individual learning budget requests, ensuring adherence to the L&D policy and procedures. 

Talent Acquisition –Plan, Coordinate, and Deliver 
 

• Support the Talent Acquisition Specialist in managing recruitment campaigns, including interview coordination and candidate experience management. 
• Support the development of recruitment schedules and prioritisation of hiring needs. 
• Work with Hiring Managers and the Talent Acquisition Specialist to develop job descriptions and application packs, ensuring language reflects a diverse and inclusive recruitment approach. 
• Assist in placing job adverts online and liaise with recruitment agencies as needed to ensure outreach to diverse talent pools. 
• Create and send offer letters and support the People Team with obtaining employment references as required. 
• Support Hiring Managers to align assessment processes with the Foundation’s core values and DEI principles, liaising with the Talent Acquisition Specialist and Head of Talent and Inclusion as required. 
• Contribute to a smooth onboarding process, working in collaboration with Hiring Managers and the People Operations Analyst. 

Systems & Technology 

• Manage the Foundation’s Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring it meets the organisation’s needs in collaboration with the external provider and Head of Talent & Inclusion. 
• Provide administrative support for the Foundation’s Applicant Tracking System (ATS), including: 
• Uploading job details 
• Adding interview and application questions 
• Assigning Hiring Managers to live roles 
• Maintain and manage internal Talent Hub resources, including SharePoint sites, inboxes, and the Talent Hub page on the intranet. 

Evaluation, Reporting & Process Improvement 

• Work with the Head of Talent & Inclusion to review and enhance L&D policies within the Foundation. 
• Support the Talent Acquisition Specialist in ensuring recruitment processes align with policies while driving continuous improvement. 
• Be the first point of contact for all Talent Hub policies and procedures. 
• Identify and recommend process enhancements for both L&D and talent acquisition functions, leveraging automation where possible, and in liaison with the People Operations Analyst. 
• Ensure accurate data collection and reporting on L&D activities and recruitment metrics. 
• Support the tracking and reporting of DEI metrics in collaboration with the Talent Acquisition Specialist and People Operations Analyst. 
• Implement consistent evaluation methodologies for training effectiveness.

Role Summary

Coram’s Fields is a unique charity in the heart of Bloomsbury, London. In addition to our iconic 7-acre child-friendly park, we run a variety of services and enrichment programmes to support local young people and their families, including a nursery, an after-school and holiday club, a drop-in centre for parents of under-5s, a vibrant youth centre and a sports programme. The Operations Officer role is an integral part of the central team with responsibility for procedures, systems that support the effective, efficient, and compliant running of our seven-acre site, services, park events and oversight of income streams. Main Duties and Responsibilities:

General operations, processes and systems 

• You will be responsible for the oversight and continuous improvement of organisational procedures including IT, GDPR, Health and Safety, Fire Evacuation, incident management.
• You will be responsible for briefing staff across the charity in the use of these procedures and working with the Office and HR Manager to arrange training for staff where necessary. 
• You will be responsible for improving existing office systems and identifying opportunities to develop new systems and processes to enable people to work more collaboratively, efficiently, and effectively. 
• You will be responsible for ensuring that organisational procedures are documented and accessible on the internal SharePoint.
• You will be responsible for developing and overseeing a new volunteer infrastructure for the charity, working with teams across the organisation to deliver a consistently high-quality volunteer experience for all with standard recruitment, induction, and on-going oversight procedures.

Events and project management 

• You will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing a diverse and inclusive programme of park events, making the park an interesting and vibrant place to visit, encouraging the community to gather and socialise, and generating income to support the work of the charity.
• You will have responsibility for working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure each event is well-planned, managed safely and compliantly with all regulations and laws, and executed successfully within budget. 
• You will work with the CEO, COO and Buildings and Facilities Manager to support capital projects, liaising with external stakeholders, contractors and the Local Authority to ensure the effective operation of the site. Commercial Operations
•  You will operationally oversee our facility-hire income (halls, sports facilities, and grounds) and be responsible for: – ensuring necessary contracts, waivers, and legal/statutory documents are completed – executing effective marketing and promotions, and creating high quality promotional content for our website and social media – regularly reviewing fees in relation to the hire of our facilities and making recommendations for changes to these – understanding and improving the utilisation of facilities – supporting the COO to develop and grow partnerships with local organisations and schools – improving the efficiency of our booking systems/processes and overall user experience 
• You will be responsible for identifying new (temporary and permanent) opportunities and third party partnerships to bring new experiences, enjoyment and enrichment to local young people while also generating income for the charity. 
• You will work closely with our Café Manager to grow the profile and income generated by our cafe through improved park signage and park visitor experience initiatives, and integration of the café into the hall and sports hire customer journeys.

Other 

• You will be expected to undertake personal development and training where required or beneficial for the role, and to attend regular supervision and appraisal sessions.
• To undertake any task that may be request from time to time by the CEO or Board of Trustees, as may be consistent with the nature and scope of this post.

Job Purpose:

The Ruth Strauss Foundation has ambitious plans for growth over the next 5-10 years and this new role will be pivotal in driving forward our philanthropic growth. This role will lead the development of our major donor programme, building a portfolio of major donors to become part of a lifelong family of RSF donors. The primary focus will be the acquisition of new major donors while maintaining the retention of existing donors. Developing cases of support and impact reports, this role will create bespoke, tailored communications to major donors based on their needs and motivations to support.

The position involves developing a supporter-centric philanthropic journey which will drive an excellent supporter experience and ensures our major donors enter into a lifelong relationship with RSF. Networking and representing RSF at events will be essential in representing the foundation externally, including leading on hosting major donor events for the charity.

• Establish business rules for recording major donor data on Salesforce to ensure that future analysis of the programme is robust and reliable
• Work closely with Donor Advise Fund organisations to grow major donor networks and maximise opportunities for RSF
• Attend networking events and activities to drive new audiences and donors to RSF
• Budget management and delivery metric analysis, ensuring a robust contingency planning process is in place.

Expertise required

• Exceptional experience of developing and managing a major donor programme, managing high value relationships
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills including budget management, project management and prioritisation
• Excellent relationship management across stakeholders of multiple levels and organisations – utilising interpersonal skills to influence, persuade and negotiate
• Experience of developing plans and budgets, and reporting against financial targets and key performance indicators

About the Ruth Strauss Foundation

In early 2018, Ruth Strauss, the wife of Sir Andrew Strauss the former England cricket captain, was diagnosed with an incurable lung cancer that affects non-smokers. Ruth died on December 29th 2018; she was 46 years old and mother to two children, then aged 10 and 13.

In her memory, Sir Andrew has launched The Ruth Strauss Foundation to:

About the role

As an Engagement Worker, you will be pivotal in delivering Shelter’s purpose to defend the right to a safe home by enabling those we assist to enforce their housing rights. You will be a key member of a new Housing First team in South Tyneside, delivering intensive support to a small number of individuals with multiple disadvantage to move from homelessness to sustaining a tenancy. As the team is new you will need to form links with partner organisations and agencies and your role will be fundamental in supporting someone on their journey through Housing First, supporting five clients at any one time.

About you

You will need experience of support work, a proven ability to listen to, engage and work with individuals and communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders, especially substance misuse services, health and probation and people with lived experience of homelessness. You will have an awareness of working in a trauma informed, strengths based approach to help people with multiple disadvantage, as well as having experience of writing and implementing person centred support plans and writing detailed case-notes.  Also, you have flexible time management skills and are comfortable collaborating with people from other teams and organisations.

Our partner is seeking a Project Finance Officer to join a close knit finance team, within an impactful international charity. The role in addition to having a focus on financial processing & accounting, has a significant focus on business partnering and providing support to country offices.

Responsibilities

• Supporting country office staff with their finance data inputting, ensuring that these are accurate and complete; monitoring their cashflow, managing funding requests and processing intercompany invoices, reviewing and analysing bank and balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting with processing payroll.

• Support the team with the internal audit and annual year-end audit processes.
• Support with HR & other administrative tasks as required.

Requirements

• Astute individual, with a degree in or studying towards an accounting qualification such as ACA, CIMA or ACCA, and interested in a career in international charity finance.
• Strong technical background and understanding of double entry bookkeeping and data entry, strong attention to detail.
• Experience in developing systems, working with complex consolidation systems, and on grants financial management is desirable.
• Good numeracy & IT skills.
• Good relationship building and communication skills, able to work effectively with overseas staff with sensitivity, and support them with any queries/issues they have.
• Able to work effectively, prioritising a varied workload.  
• Working knowledge or fluency in French is strongly desirable.

This role is permanent, and is only open to candidates with the RTW in the UK. This role requires the individual to be in the office once a week. In addition to the salary on offer, the organisation will offer some support for those candidates studing towards an accounting qualification.

This position offers the opportunity to engage in high-impact media activities, including drafting press releases, managing media enquiries, and supporting senior spokespeople for national broadcast appearances.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft press releases, op-eds, statements, articles, and social media content for national and trade media outlets.

The role of an Animal Welfare Officer can be very rewarding, making a real difference to the well-being of animals in our branch area. However, it can also be demanding. You will be dealing with friendly animals but also frightened, injured or wild animals.

Essential

• Experienced in working with and handling animals, both domestic and wild

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this. 

Their vision is to find a cure for all types of brain tumours. To achieve their mission, they are looking for a Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships to lead the high value function, including income from major donors, corporate partners, and trusts and grants. The P&P team also encompasses volunteering and relationships held with the family of member charities.  

There is currently an interim Head of P&P in place until August to ensure progress continues towards the income ambition, and to support the team.  

The P&P function is on a journey, much work has been done to embed effective processes and a consistent approach to pipelining. There has been much improvement so far, but there remains a lot of scope for the incoming Head to shape the team, define areas of focus and ways of working.  

The team have had significant success this year, especially in the corporate partnerships space, so there is energy and enthusiasm to harness. There are exciting opportunities for high value fundraising connected to the launch of new Centres of Excellence across the UK, and some key events in the calendar such as a major donor dinner in September.  

This role would suit an experienced fundraiser across major donor or corporate income streams. You will have led a team before, and have experience of designing and delivering fundraising strategies.  

This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to come into a team that is on the right path, but needs a confident Head of to ensure the team works in the most effective way, and to provide support and guidance to the team.
