Job description

Location: Waverley Abbey Trust, Surrey
Contract: Permanent, Full time
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to lead the 24-7 Academy.

The 24-7 Academy is a life-changing, residential leadership development programme for young adults aged 18-30, based at Waverley Abbey.

An exciting new venture in partnership with Waverley Abbey Trust, 24-7 Prayer and Emmaus Rd Church to disciple and equip a new generation of Christian leaders, to help deepen their character and provide an immersive experience in Lectio 365 prayer rhythms to guide them in living a Jesus-centred life.

This role is pivotal to both the development and delivery of the programme, taking responsibility for creating a safe and supportive environment where participants can be discipled and equipped to live a Jesus-centred life.

Overseeing the recruitment and delivery of two cohorts per year: a summer/autumn cohort starting in late August and a winter/spring cohort starting in February.

You will be working with the Waverley Abbey monastic community living onsite as well as the 24-7 Academy Steering Group, to bring the shared vision to life and manage the day-to-day service and delivery of the programme.

Outside of managing the day-to-day of the active programme periods, you will focus on recruitment, training volunteers, and preparing for the next cohort.

As this is a brand-new role, we’re happy to discuss any aspect of the role and are open to shaping it to fit the right person

This role holds a Genuine Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010 to be a practising Christian who assents to Waverley Abbey’s Statement of Faith.

For further information on key responsibilities and person spec please see the attached job pack.

If you’d like to apply, please provide your CV, and a cover letter that directly addresses the requirements of the job description, including why you are interested in the role.

Applications will close on Thurs 28th November 2024; we reserve the right to close applications early.

Please note, an appointment will be subject to:

- Evidence of Right to Work in the UK
- Satisfactory references
- A satisfactory Enhanced DBS disclosure
