Job description

Graduate Bid Writer

Nottingham

£24,739 per annum

Do you have a passion for writing?

Are you eager to learn, and enthusiastic about developing?

Do you have an interest in social housing and delivering excellent services?

If so then you may be our client's next Trainee Bid Writer!

This is an excellent opportunity for a Graduate or someone looking to start a career in bid writing to join our client as a Trainee Bid writer.

They complete bids, grant applications and tenders for housing, care and support services for vulnerable adults.

As part of the Business Development Team, you will be working in projects across the organisation, liaising with internal and external partners. Very few teams get as round a view as them, and it makes each day so varied and interesting. Whether you’re writing method statements, modelling budgets, or supporting specifications for new housing developments, this is a fantastic role to take your first big step into the world of work.

Please note this is not a sales job!

What will you be doing?

You will work through a structured 12 month Graduate training programme, learning on the job and combining practical experience, professional development and the opportunity to network with peers from our other departments and external agencies.

You will be responsible for writing grant applications and bids while learning on the job so that at the end of your training programme you will have acquired excellent knowledge of the housing and social care sectors on which to build a successful career.

At the end of the graduate training programme, they hope you will want to take the opportunity to apply for one of their full-time permanent positions and developing your ongoing career with them

They offer excellent benefits including:

  • 35 hour working week as standard
  • Generous annual leave package with the ability to buy more (or sell)
  • A fabulous benefits package to support your own wellbeing including a healthcare cash plan, counselling and support helpline, support with bus and tram passes, shopping discounts and many more.

What will you need to be successful with your application?

They want you to be curious and ask questions; everyday will be a new opportunity to learn and develop to gain the key skills and confidence moving forward in your career!

  • You will be a motivated and enthusiastic learner with excellent attention to detail who is inquisitive and wants to build a career.
  • You will be able to demonstrate your interest and knowledge of current issues relating to social housing and care and support services for vulnerable adults.
  • You will have excellent literacy and comprehension skills.
  • Your IT and numeracy skills will also be top notch.
  • Your previous work or voluntary experience will show that you know how to apply common sense, have good interpersonal skills and have built excellent professional relationships.
  • Ideally you will have graduated within the last 5 years with the minimum of a 2:1 in a relative subject AND / OR have experience delivering health, care and / or support services to vulnerable adults.

Working Hours

Monday - Friday 35 hours per week with a minimum 3 days per week in the office at Clifton

You will be expected to travel to our services based across the East Midlands so having a driving licence and vehicle would be advantageous.

We are looking forward to hearing from you!

As an Equal Opportunities and Disability Confident Employer, our client welcomes applications from all suitably qualified candidates including those from Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups and disabled candidates. As part of their LGBT + Allies Programme, they also welcome applications from members of the LGBT + community and encourage inclusivity in the workplace.

Please note that they are not currently offering visa sponsorship.
