Details of the role

As Jangala enters a critical phase of growth, we are scaling up our operations to meet our ambitious target of connecting four million people by 2030. The Head of Fundraising will play a crucial role in driving this expansion by developing and implementing strategic fundraising initiatives, expanding our network of supporters, and ensuring the sustainability of our programs. We are looking for a strategic and collaborative leader with a proven track record in fundraising who can inspire and lead a team and is passionate about using technology for social good.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with Jangala's mission and growth objectives.

• Identifying and securing new funding opportunities across various channels, including corporate partnerships, grants, philanthropy and individual giving.

• Leading, mentoring, and managing the fundraising team, setting clear objectives and ensuring their professional growth.

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and potential funders, leveraging networks and partnerships to expand Jangala's reach.

• Monitoring and reporting on fundraising performance, adapting strategies to meet or exceed fundraising targets.

• Proven experience in fundraising, with a track record of achieving with a track record of achieving six figure grants or contracts.

Important details

Jangala’s office is based in London and operates a remote-first working policy. Travel to our London office will be required for mind-mapping and collaborative work at least once a week.

The starting salary for this role is £48,000-£55,000 per annum, with consideration for part-time arrangements.

This is a new role giving you the opportunity and responsibility to build on our successful fundraising and extend our appeal to new donors as well as maintain our existing supporters. You will need demonstrable fundraising experience and the ability to work confidently as a strategic thinker and as a practical fundraiser. You will hit the ground running and come with strong ideas and skills to implement them.

As head of fundraising you will work closely with the CEO to grow charitable income and philanthropic support from governments, individuals, trusts and foundations, corporate companies and other areas. You will help her drive the charity's work forward and work closely with our project teams and see the direct impact of your efforts.

You will have developed your portfolio of fundraising skills over time within charities that work for social good and can demonstrate experiene in securing fundraising income particularly in securing five and six figure grants/donations. Experience of securing statutory funding will be essential. You will have experience of line managing junior fundraising staff and will be keen to develop your managerial responsibility.

You will be a confident and capable leader who will work with colleagues towards supporting an annual programme of circa £3m. This role is crucial to building the charity's long-term sustainability, with a focus on exploring innovative opportunities.

The Trust is recruiting a creative and committed Research and Policy Officer to join our team, as fixed term cover for paternity leave. Reporting to one of the team’s Research and Policy Managers, the successful candidate will play a significant role in developing and preparing the Trust’s research and policy outputs, working across the core areas of the Sutton Trust’s work (early years, schools, apprenticeships, higher education and access to the workplace). Main duties

• To contribute, with colleagues, to 2 or more data-rich research reports accessible to practitioners and policy makers, over the course of the year, as agreed with the Research, Comms and Policy leadership team.

Person Specification

Essential:

• Strong analytical skills and understanding of research methods, particularly quantitative research and literature reviews. This should include experience of using data analysis software such as R/SPSS/Stata/Python or equivalent.
• A qualification in a social science or other numerate discipline, including statistics, mathematics, economics, computer science, data science or similar discipline in the social or natural sciences at undergraduate level, or comparable experience.

Terms of Appointment

We are hiring a Grassroots Development Officer at BVSC on a 2 year contract. Responsible to the Funding and Development Manager, the role of Grassroots Development Officer will be to support the growth and sustainability of small voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations in Bexley. This role is funded by the VCSE Capacity Building & Infrastructure Fund 2024/2025 through the South East London Integrated Care System (SEL ICS) and aims to enhance the effectiveness of smaller, often informal groups delivering services that are both ‘by and for’ their service users that are crucial in addressing local health and wellbeing needs for the ‘under-served’ but face significant challenges in visibility and support.

The Grassroots Development Officer will be responsible for providing a wide range of organisational development support services and activities to assist grassroots VCSE organisations to develop, thrive and remain sustainable. This role is particularly interested in working with groups who deliver services to young people, the elderly, minority ethnic (global majority) and migrant groups, those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and residents in the north of the borough (areas with high deprivation and a higher proportion of small groups). 
You will be led by the VCSE sector within Bexley to ensure services are accessible, connected, consistent and to a high standard. Development work strives to build the capacity and capabilities of local groups, provide partnership/networking opportunities that enable them to carry out their own objectives effectively and offer high quality services. You will work flexibly and nimbly to provide consistent and seamless support to organisations. The Head of National Influencing is critical to our mission to make dementia the priority it needs to be.  This is way more than a typical public affairs job.  In fact, it’s not a typical public affairs job at all.  We do things differently here.  We don’t carp from the side-lines and moan about how bad everything is.  Instead, we develop overwhelming, evidence and policy-based cases for change which we deploy based on our deep understanding of a complex, constantly adapting system across multiple nations.

Dementia is a whole system challenge so it demands a whole system approach.  That means our Head of National Influencing needs to determine key decisionmakers capable of shaping national policy across England, Northern Ireland and Wales, and then engaging them directly with an overwhelming case for change.  Understanding the system is paramount, as is deploying evidence and policy in the most impactful way.  Essential to the success of the role – and the success of the whole team – is the need to plan and deliver a highly integrated influencing strategy alongside our Head of Local Systems Influencing.  Integration and teamwork is everything in this role – with colleagues internally and with the system externally.  

You’ll have the privilege of leading a big team spread across three nations, and be part of an even larger Evidence, Policy & Influencing function which is laser-focused on ending the devastation of dementia through changing policy.  We take an evidence-based approach to all our work, we focus on impact rather than activity, and the Head of National Influencing is a key role model for how we go about our business.  That includes the most important aspect of this role: leading our people.  With joint responsibility for the whole team’s (not just your team’s!) culture and performance shared between you and our other department heads, the development of our talent is central to the impact we want to make.
 
You will:

- Develop and lead a large team of professionals straddling three nations, while taking responsibility with your peers for the development of the whole Evidence, Policy & Influencing team

- Role model a 3 nations approach to our work

- Use evidence and policy to create highly impactful cases for change leading to national policy change

About the role

We’re looking for a creative Senior Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser, who wants to grow their existing experience of working with five and six figure asks to grow their skills by supporting the senior team with preparing compelling proposals to secure funding of 6 and 7 figure bids. This is an exceptional opportunity for a fundraiser with great communication skills, project leadership and experience of building and writing compelling core asks/supporting bid writing.

Our Philanthropy team is growing and we need a tenacious senior fundraiser, who is passionate about delivering great quality, high-value proposals to charitable trusts, foundations and institutions. You will have a track record of building great relationships with supporters and colleagues alike. What will I be doing?

• You will be a key player in delivering the strategy to maximise income from a portfolio of both current and lapsed charitable trust donors, awarding grants min £30,000+

• Establish, maintain and develop personalised relationships with funders through consistent, creative and innovative stewardship – we are open to your ideas!

• Research, approach and establish relationships with lapsed and prospective funders, to build new relationships and support pipeline development and growth for future funding

• Support senior colleagues at external events and meetings

• Identify, maintain and develop a portfolio of appropriate funding proposals

• Ensure prompt and accurate reporting to donors in your portfolio

• Develop and maintain annual work plans and database systems

• Report on performance against agreed budgets and targets

The key skills we’re looking for in this role are:

• High-value trust fundraising, with a successful track record of achieving ambitious fundraising targets.

• We also need demonstrable experience of trust proposal development.

• Experience of researching funding prospects (with knowledge of source materials) is also key

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must 

• Ability to absorb complex information and present it in a clear, logical and appropriate manner 

• Ability to work as part of a team – the role requires collaboration with both managers and peers 

• Ability to develop relationships internally and externally 

• Comfortable building and working with project budgets and contributing to team budgeting

About the role

Right now, we’re looking for a technical expert with experience of developing and maintaining ELT pipelines to move data between enterprise applications (a mix of both in-house and external and on-prem and in the cloud). Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for developing ETL processes using Fabric and Synapse linking from a variety of data sources to a wide variety of targets on-prem, cloud platforms and in Azure. We’ll also rely on you to ensure business requirements for new data feeds or changes are understood and translated into efficient and effective technical solutions. Exploring new ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of data management across Shelter will be important too, as will transforming and centralising raw data from multiple platforms into user friendly reporting data. Writing, validating and executing test plans, troubleshooting performance issues and supporting Shelter’s wider data management initiatives – all are aspects of this interesting and varied role.

With MCIPD qualifications (or equivalent experience), you’ll be able to confidently guide our HR team and managers through the employee relations cycle, pay and reward challenges, and the nuances of HR data reporting. A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our bank of casual workers as a Welfare Officer, providing cover as required for the SSAFA RAF Service across the UK.

Our Bank Welfare Officers will provide direct and impactful welfare support to RAF personnel and their immediate family on an ad hoc basis when a full-time member of the team is unavailable to do so.

As a trusted and confidential source of support, you will assist our service users with challenges they are facing, from mental ill-health, difficult relationships, domestic abuse, financial and cost-of-living concerns, resettlement, housing, childcare, equality issues, bereavement, military discharge or deployment and many more - no day will be the same, as such this is a great opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills within the Welfare sector.

Our intervention is provided with consent on a non-statutory basis, and you will work with and engage our service users to develop appropriate interventions for individual outcomes.

Our service is transitioning to become more accessible and inclusive, digital technology plays a key role in this, as such you may be asked to use digital technologies to complement and enhance processes and service user experience.

You will work closely with RAF welfare teams, local authorities, health, education, civilian agencies, charities and other military organisations to ensure the best outcome for the service user.

About you
