Community Engagement and Fundraising
Proactively seek new 'in aid of' supporters in the local community including local companies, schools and clubs
Build relationships and steward local community groups, memberships and associations to encourage ongoing engagement

About The Role
The Help for Heroes Community Development team are looking to recruit a team of Community Builders to assist in their reshaped participation and connection strategy. Using Asset Based Community Development, we seek to support the charity’s objective to enhance reach and positive impact for members of the Armed Forces Community facing challenges within their local communities.

We are looking for a motivated, dynamic and confident people who are passionate about collaborating with communities in the design and delivery of interventions that bring and connect people together to strengthen networks within the local community. Working closely with Community Development Managers across regions within the UK, the Community Builders will play a vital role in helping to improve lives for Armed Forces Community members by creating a supportive environment that allows them to re-engage and connect with the services at Help for Heroes and with the wider community.
The main purpose of this role is to connect local people through their skills, passions and assets and support the creation of new connections, bringing people together to improve wellbeing and make the community a better place to live. This will include listening to different points of views, building relationships and motivating people to work together and create their own action influenced by their interests and skillsets to positively impact local communities and help them to flourish.
About You
You will have experience leading and facilitating the mobilisation of local communities, asset mapping, bringing together people for engagement that matters to them. You will have knowledge and experience of Asset Based Community Development work, outreach methods and you will have good organisational skills, energy and the ability to animate local communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outreach to drive local connection, engagement and participation opportunities for the AFC

PLEASE NOTE: The successful candidates will need to be based within an hour’s commute of their allocated locality and there is a requirement to travel within a 75-mile radius of this location (travel expenses covered). Flexibility in working hours is necessary to ensure a total of 70 hours is covered over a 2-week period so please take this into consideration before applying.

- A Community Development qualification and/or at least 3 years' experience working within a community development or similar role, with responsibility for bringing about social change and improving quality of life

- Experience of engaging and working collaboratively with partners/stakeholders
About the Team
You will work as part of the Community Development team; this newly formed team will approach working in defined localities using an asset based community development approach. Set in a leafy heritage building, and ‘T&T2’, our second venue in Surrey Quays Shopping Centre, we offer something for everyone. With a history of 137 years of supporting people of all ages in Rotherhithe and Bermondsey, we bring people together for mutual support, fun and friendship, with a wide range of services and activities for older people and other adults, along with volunteering and children and families’ projects. The role
In this role, you’ll be responsible for:
• Strategic development and oversight of community programmes for children, adults and across multiple generations
• Leadership and line management of team; oversight of sessional facilitators and contractors used by team
• Setting programme budget and service targets; monitoring and evaluation to ensure delivery against these
• Playing a key part in building, broadening and developing new funding for these programmes and maintaining relationships with current funders

Magic Breakfast provide a nutritious and filling breakfast to over 200,000 children and young people every school day. We work with schools in areas of high disadvantage, helping staff target the children most in need without barrier or stigma.
Magic Breakfast are ambitious to grow our impact to remove hunger as a barrier to learning for all children and young people in the UK. To do this, we need to continue to grow our fundraised income, of which new corporate income is a significant element.
JOB PURPOSE
We are seeking a Salesforce expert who is looking for an exciting opportunity to play an instrumental part in the implementation and ongoing development of Magic Breakfast’s technology and data transformation. In this multi-faceted position, you’ll lead on shaping scalable solutions that will enhance operational efficiency and enable accurate data-driven decision making.
Your expertise will be critical in shaping how the organisation gathers, analyses and utilises data to automate workflows, generate reports and dashboards, and ultimately achieve our strategic objectives.

About the role
An exciting role to deliver a tailored package of support that will help Reigate and Banstead Council to increase levels of active travel in the area. You will engage with schools, workplaces, and communities to support and enable more people to walk, wheel, cycle and scoot for local everyday journeys, instead of taking the car.
As the Project Officer, you will plan and deliver fun, innovative and engaging activities such as mapping safe routes, leading rides and walks, practical skills sessions, competitions, initiatives and information events. The range of activities, events and resources will be adapted to meet the needs of the different audiences and will be designed to be inclusive so as many people as possible can benefit from the project and more local journeys can be travelled actively.
This role will require you to work with a range of people across local and diverse communities, workplaces and schools in Reigate and Banstead. Creating relationships with key people and employers, understanding the barriers, challenges and opportunities to actively travel. You will be working closely with others to develop a programme of activities.
You will have the opportunity to give people confidence, enthusiasm and skills to travel more actively, through events and community activities.
You will build and manage internal and external relationships with key people such as school or community travel champions, local authority colleagues and other Sustrans delivery officers.
Within the role, there will be an expectation to capture the impact of the project through completing reporting and monitoring, writing case studies, capturing quotes and photos and contributing to an end of project report.
This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.

You should have experience of working with children and young people within a community setting and delivering physical activities to groups. Your knowledge of the local area will help you form relationships with a wide range of organisations, groups, and individuals.

- Assist with due diligence processes within the wider SEO team, specifically focusing on internal data security practices, response handling accuracy, and adherence to relevant regulatory requirements such as those for Gift Aid or the BACS scheme for Direct Debits
- Proactively identify processes for improvement across the Supporter Experience & Operations Team to deliver efficiencies and improve the effectiveness of internal procedures
- Support campaign managers and other colleagues with any new or existing projects relating to fundraising operations, working closely with internal stakeholders, ensuring requirements are clear and fully documented

The role
We are looking for a Trusts and Grants Officer to play a crucial role in ensuring the ongoing success and expansion of our partnerships with trusts, foundations and statutory givers. Working closely with the Trusts and Grants Manager and four more team members, this new role will lead on nurturing low and mid-value relationships with prospective funders who have capacity to give ongoing funding to FareShare.

Main areas of responsibility
Build relationships with a portfolio of four and five-figure trust supporters, understanding their motivations and tailoring opportunities and communications to cultivate strong, long-lasting partnerships.

We’re looking for a Team Support Officer and PA to provide PA support to our Director of Programmes and provide administrative support to the Programmes team’s delivery of work. The ideal candidate will share our values, have excellent attention to detail, a strong sense of initiative and an approachable manner.
Maudsley Charity – Team Support Officer and PA
Location: Denmark Hill, London (and home working)
Salary: £33,000 per annum, plus excellent benefits

Our small, ambitious team works in a collaborative and supportive way. A big focus of the role is prioritisation and planning, so you’ll support the Director of Programmes, Head of Impact & Effectiveness and wider team to prioritise, forward plan, manage diaries and prepare for meetings. This is a great role for someone wanting to develop their administrative experience and exposure to board and executive level working. You will have responsibility for supporting a Trustee level grant making committee. You’ll get exposure to the strategic overview of the Charity and insight into managing teams, grant-making and charity operations. You’ll quickly see the impact you can make within the team to improve our effectiveness and ways of working; and what we’re working to achieve as a charity.
Maudsley Charity works primarily with South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London, as well as a range of voluntary and community organisations to fund ideas, big and small, that drive service improvement and support people who experience mental illness.
The Charity operates primarily within the four boroughs served by South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (Croydon, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark), but the work we fund has the potential for wider impact at both national and international levels, through the sharing of the outcomes with the wider mental health community. We are based in our vibrant offices in the Ortus Centre, Denmark Hill; a great place to work and hold events. We offer a friendly working culture, with the following benefits for our staff (just to name a few):
- Hybrid working, 2-3 days spent with the team at Ortus/onsite each week and 2-3 days at home/offsite.
- 25 days annual leave, with a further one day after 3 years’ service and a further one day after 5 years’ service. Plus, additional non-working office closure days over the Christmas period.
