The Role
The purpose of the Communication and Events Officer role is to:
- Communicate National Voices’ all relevant organisational output to members, decision makers, external influencers and media, including policy, improvement, lived experience and insight work.
- Assist the organisation to plan, develop and deliver content and logistics for our operations teams’ internal event commitments, including supporting on the Annual General Meeting, board events and staff team days etc.
- Work with voluntary sector organisations and people with the greatest health and care needs to develop National Voices’ communications positions and deliver against funded project work
The role will be a mix of communications and internal events work, with 75% of the role focused on communications.
Responsibilities
Deliver on our communications work
· Develop engaging content that conveys National Voices messages to members, external stakeholders, and media (including managing the day to day running of social media platforms) to maximise the reach and impact of the organisation’s policy messages and funded project work
· Support the Policy and Communications Manager with media relations activity by drafting media statements, liaising with journalists and other media activity as required
· Create National Voices’ membership content, including member newsletters and member blogs
· Oversee and manage process of external design of National Voices reports with designer
· Manage the comms and events calendar and work with internal and external team to schedule project releases and other events
· Support the maintenance of National Voices’ website, keeping the site up to date and coordinating input and content from National Voices staff and members.
· Coordinate the production of key publications, from liaising with partner organisations to overseeing design and production
· Communications administrative tasks including developing and maintaining press list, tracking press coverage and social media analytics data
· Support operation team’s internal comms around job postings, organisational policy changes, and office announcement.
Support the operations team internal events programme
· Work across the organisation to support our internal events programme including leading on some events. This includes support on logistics like venue booking, arranging catering and providing technical support.
· Support the creation and development of materials for events and presentations.
· Support in the organisation of our Annual General Meeting and board events where needed.
· Work with the team to lead on staff social events.
· Provide ad hoc support to the operations team as required.

Our approach to hybrid working
We recognise the importance of coming together regularly, in-person, as a team, so we can share learnings and spend social time with each other. We also recognise that people need flexibility, and that homeworking enables focused work and can fit well in people’s lives.
We ask all staff to take part in pre-arranged team meetings which take place every six weeks in our office space. We also might ask you to meet in-person with members of your team from time to time, or to be available for face-to-face meetings with clients and partners where this enhances the work.
We assume that this would usually not amount to more than one day per fortnight for people who work full time.

Purpose of the post
The Warehouse Supervisor plays an essential role in the smooth running of the Vale Lane warehouse, supporting all aspects of the food operation.
You will work as part of a team to effectively support the warehouse operation, incoming goods, storage and dispatch of goods to Community Food Members (CFMs) to high levels of compliance and service. This role will include working with a large and diverse team of volunteers throughout the week.
The role will be primarily based at our South Bristol warehouse, where alongside our usual food redistribution operation and volunteering programme, we run our youth employability programme FareChance for 18 to 25-year-olds to develop logistics and workplace experience.
Duties and responsibilities:
Warehouse
-
Ensure the smooth running of food intake, storage, and food distribution, liaising with food industry representatives, FSUK, distribution companies and hauliers.

Support the South Bristol Hub Manager in coordinating and maintaining the fleet of vans and machinery.
-
Provide ongoing support to the South Bristol Hub Manager to ensure high levels of compliance in the warehouse throughout the year and for internal/external audits.

As part of the warehouse team, reduce waste and maximise the distribution of surplus food to members.
-
Report to the South Bristol Hub Manager with operational improvements to increase efficiency and implement agreed changes.
Volunteers and FareChance
-
Oversee (under the direction of the South Bristol Hub Manager) FareChance participants, regular volunteers and corporate volunteers on warehouse shifts, delegating/assigning tasks, and supervising work to ensure all tasks completed effectively.

Support and train all FareChance participants and volunteers with their allocated warehouse/job-specific tasks/roles

Supporting the FareChance participants’ and volunteer’s health, safety, and welfare during their shift.

About the role:
We are recruiting for a talented Benefits and Debt Worker who has a background in supporting women or children who have experienced domestic violence to make a genuine difference to the lives of survivors. We believe in empowering women and girls to lead safe, non-violent, equal lives and you will play a key role in helping us deliver vital services to those who need them the most. As a Benefits and Debt Worker you will provide service users with advice and support on finance and debt. Carrying out comprehensive assessments, via phone and face-to-face, and you will provide advocacy and support that empowers survivors primarily during crises and in the short term. You will also proactively work with other agencies on the service users’ behalf. You will hold a caseload of survivors and work as part of our duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.
About You:
To be successful as the Benefits and Debt Worker you will need the below experience and skills:
You will have the ability to encourage user engagement with the service through proactive contact. Maintain project logs and collate data from the logs for Team Managers. Proactively assess the needs and safety of any children that women using the service may have. Bring your experience of providing benefit, and debt advice and successfully, managing high numbers of calls and/or cases and have a solid understanding (possibly experience) of supporting women who have experienced domestic violence, forced marriage or ‘honour-based violence.

About The Respect Young People’s Service (RYPS)
The Respect Young People’s Service (RYPS) provides high quality, training, consultation and support for practitioners working with young people who harm. They create innovative, evidence based intervention to promote behaviour change and reduce the risk of harm. About the role:
This is an exciting and innovative opportunity for a dynamic and inspirational lead to galvanise the response to CAPVA (Child or adolescent to parent violence or abuse) within the Merseyside area. This is a second tier role which involves coordinating, training and supporting professionals to recognise and respond to CAPVA. The postholder will be engaging with a variety of professionals who work across services dedicated to children and young people including health, education, early help and children’s services.
The aim of the role is to remove the barriers families face in accessing support by ensuring that staff in universal services can recognise and respond to CAPVA. Working to reduce the stigma and shame associated with CAPVA and ensuring that parents can reach out in confidence that they will be listened to and supported.
The role involves mapping and coordinating current CAPVA intervention to identify systemic gaps in provision. The post holder will be responsible for developing and building a delivery plan focusing on identified gaps, building on current provision and providing training in identified areas of need. They will need to bring together the insights of service users, practitioners, specialist organisations and researchers to build solutions.
Extensive CAPVA knowledge is not required as full training will be given. A background of working with young people who harm and training experience is essential as is a non judgemental approach.

Main Tasks:

Map existing CAPVA provision and available referral pathways in Merseyside.

Build relationships with key statutory and voluntary agencies

Lead the planning and execution of the CAPVA project in Merseyside, ensuring new systems, processes, and initiatives are effectively integrated across the borough.

Design and develop a comprehensive training needs assessment to inform the training program using a variety of methods to meet the need of services and families in Merseyside

Conduct training sessions using diverse methods (in-person, virtual, workshops) to effectively transfer knowledge and skills.

The Spear Assistant Coach will work as part of the River Church staff team, alongside the Centre Manager to deliver the Spear Programme, equipping and empowering 16-24 year olds to overcome barriers to employment and turn their lives around by moving into sustainable work or further education.
The important stuff
Salary: £25,000 pro-rata
Hours: 9.30am – 5.30pm, 3-4 days a week, between Monday and Thursday, with occasional evening working required (for events such as termly Spear Celebration evenings)

Key Responsibilities
Spear Programme
- Lead group sessions of up to 10 young people, using coaching skills to transform their mindsets, and to maximise their potential in stepping into the world of work.
- Prepare and deliver coaching sessions on a weekly basis and find creative ways of developing ongoing relationships with Spear trainees. This includes running application workshops with past trainees as well as maintaining records and reporting on statistics.
Relationship Management
- Build and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses, and other organisations.
- You will support with job fairs, mock interview days and welcoming external visitors to the centre.
Church Community
- The Assistant Coach is directly employed by River Church, though it is not a requirement of the role for the successful candidate to join River Church as their worshipping community if they are already part of another local church
- Help to raise the profile of the Spear programme within River Church and build a network of supporters and volunteers from the congregation.
This role will suit you if you are:
- An active Christian, able to personally represent the values and beliefs of Resurgo and River Church, Ipswich.
