The BDA is seeking a new Partnerships Officer to work as part of the Commercial Team, leading on the management of high volume, lower value sales, direct account management and business reporting.
The new role will support the BDA’s Strategic Plan 2024-34 and will suit a candidate with a some experience of sponsorship sales and/or partnerships delivery and an interest in business reporting, evaluating impact and business development.

thrivin’ together is a UK women-only organisation led by lived experience of gambling. We are looking to fill two Research Programme Manager roles who will be responsible for delivering against and developing our Research and Cancer Research Strategies and looking after a large, diverse portfolio of grants.
Salary
The salary for this position is £47,674 per annum and we operate a hybrid working policy of 2 days in the office per week.

Key Responsibilities
The role will include a mixture of fast-paced and impactful response-mode funding, and working closely with applicants to shape large-scale strategic research initiatives. Each role will be responsible for a different area of our research portfolio, as follows:
- Role 1: Delivering discovery and translational research funding, including a national large-scale programmatic research funding scheme.
- Role 2: Delivering clinical research funding, including a new national paediatric cancer clinical trial funding scheme. Specific expertise in clinical trial funding is desirable for this role.
As we are hiring for two positions, we will assess your suitability for both the above roles throughout the hiring process.
- The post holders will need to be team players with excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a willingness to go above and beyond.

EduSpots is a dynamic, community-driven UK and Ghana-registered charity that connects, trains, and equips volunteer community educators (known as ‘Catalysts’) to drive grassroots educational change. About the Role
EduSpots is seeking a Global Philanthropy Manager—an engaging, dynamic, and proven fundraising specialist who will play a key part in our next phase of growth. As we continue to expand, we need an individual with a track record of securing income from trusts and foundations, ideally at the 5- to 6-figure level (GBP), and the ability to cultivate new funding partnerships.
In the past two years, we have doubled our income and expanded our programmes significantly. We are now poised for further growth and need someone who understands the value of community-driven change. Chapter One is a dynamic, growing charity with a vision of a world in which all children have the literacy skills needed to thrive. Our mission is to close the reading gap by providing children with one-to-one support at the time they need it most. We work in eleven areas/regions of the UK and will support 3250 children in 2024-25.
Our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme pairs struggling five to seven-year old (KS1) readers with reading support volunteers who are working professionals. The volunteer ask is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability.
From a school perspective, online reading volunteers provide direct, meaningful literacy support for up to 10 pupils per class. The programme is particularly suitable for communities where it might be challenging to find parents and other volunteers who can commit to physically visiting schools to boost reading.
Job Summary
Chapter One is seeking a Manchester Programme Manager who is an excellent communicator and is able both to motivate and support schools and teachers to implement our online reading volunteers programme, and also to ensure that the programme’s impact and benefit to children facing disadvantage communities is maximised throughout the academic year.
The post is ideal for someone looking for part-time, flexible, term-time only work from a home base, but who is also able to travel frequently around the Greater Manchester area to visit schools.The postholder will be joining a team of established Programme Managers (also part-time) who work in different parts of the UK and will need to have some flexibility to work additional hours during busy autumn months, and conversely to work fewer hours during quieter periods of the year.
Key Responsibilities:
• Effectively explain Chapter One’s online reading volunteer programme and its benefits to school leaders and teachers
• Install, setup and maintain Chapter One equipment in participating classrooms
• Fully understand the operation of the Chapter One platform and database and communicate this to others
• Organise and conduct initial teacher training and follow-up
• Ensure a smooth initial launch of Chapter One’s programme in every classroom
• Liaise with colleagues performing technical and volunteer support roles
• Through regular visits to/contact with schools, provide on-going embedded professional learning and support to teachers throughout the year as needed
• Proactively monitor classroom adherence/fidelity to the Chapter One model, including systematic review of data reports and volunteer feedback, taking proactive action to resolve problems that arise

Main Areas of Responsibility

Responsibilities and Person Specification:
The External Training Manager will work with internal subject matter experts to develop and implement our programme of external training which is aimed at building knowledge of older people’s options when experiencing financial hardship.
Our training is aimed at professionals and trusted intermediaries working in the commercial, statutory and not for profit sectors. Our ambition is for everyone who works with older people to know what older people may be entitled to, how to support them to claim and where to get further help.
You should have extensive experience of designing and delivering training to a range of audiences, along with experience of developing resources and of training evaluation. Knowledge of how to ensure training is inclusive and accessible, along with excellent communication and relationship building skills is essential. Prior knowledge of financial hardship topics relating to older people is not required, as you will be working with subject matter experts.

Job Purpose:

About the Education and Employers charity
Education and Employers is an independent UK based charity launched in 2009 with the vision of “providing children and young people with the inspiration, motivation, knowledge, skills and opportunities they need to help them achieve their potential”. It aims to achieve this by working with schools, employers, the national bodies that represent them and a wide range of other partners including the government and third sector organisations. The charity runs Inspiring the Future, a free service which uses innovative match-making technology to connect volunteers with state schools and colleges, quickly, simply and at scale. Schools can very easily search a massive database of willing volunteers, filter against a wide range of criteria – e.g. subject, sector, career route and send them a message. It enables young people, wherever they live, whichever school they attend, the opportunity to meet people from a wide range of backgrounds doing jobs from across the whole world of work.
Nearly 85,000 people have already volunteered in the UK - people from all levels: apprentices to CEOs and all sectors: apps designers to zoologists and over 85% of English secondary schools have registered. People can volunteer from an hour a year in a local primary or secondary school to chat informally about their job and career route, take part in career speed networking session, give careers insights, provide mock interviews or feedback on CVs through to serving as a governor or trustee. There is also the opportunity to link up with schools for workplace visits, job shadowing and mentoring.
Inspiring the Future operates on a technology platform kindly developed in partnership with Deloitte, Salesforce and Ordnance Survey. It allows the charity to run national campaigns others focused on specific geographic areas or economic sectors such as engineering, science, health and arts and culture. The campaigns have secured high profile support across government, business and teacher associations and ongoing corporate partnerships including our lead corporate partner Bank of America.
In partnership with the National Association of Head Teachers the charity has developed a version for primary schools called Primary Futures and over 6,500 primaries have already signed up. All campaigns run through Inspiring the Future share a common objective: to broaden young people’s horizons, raise their aspirations and show them the range of opportunities and careers routes e.g. apprenticeships and university open to them. Over 3.5 million interactions between young people and volunteers from the world of work have already taken place.
The charity runs Inspiring Governance the free governor recruitment and support service. This Department for Education funded service aims to get highly skilled volunteers to serve as governors in some of the most disadvantaged schools in England and in so doing help raise educational achievement.
Since the Charity’s launch it has sought to understand what difference employer engagement in education makes to young people and the economy. It works with academics and researchers from around the world and its own research is regularly cited by government and international organisations like the OECD. The research, which has informed and influenced a range of government policies, shows that employer engagement helps improve social mobility, reduces the likelihood of young people becoming NEET (not in education, employment of training), increases the amount they earn in adult life, helps them make better informed career choices and leads to improvements in educational attainment.
