Role Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Senior Support Worker and Deputy Team Manager to join our Support Team. The successful candidate will lead by example, ensuring the highest quality of service delivery in line with Baca's vision, mission, and values. This role involves supporting the team manager in day-to-day operations, decision-making, and problem-solving to achieve key outcomes for young people. These include improved physical and emotional wellbeing, increased engagement with education, employment, and training, social engagement, and personal safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the support team to deliver high-quality services to young people.
• Support the team manager in daily operations and decision-making.

• Coordinate and deliver the young people's voice project helping us to make sure our young people are heard.

Personal Specification:
Baca is looking for someone who can be a positive role model in establishing holistic and therapeutic services for young refugees. The role requires an enhanced DBS check and the ability to travel across the UK, including overnight stays.

About The Respect Young People’s Service (RYPS)

The Respect Young People’s Service (RYPS) provides high quality, training, consultation and support for practitioners working with young people who harm. They create innovative, evidence based intervention to promote behaviour change and reduce the risk of harm. There are 2 main branches of the work: young people who harm parents or carers and young people who harm in intimate relationship abuse 

About the role:

This is an exciting and innovative opportunity for a dynamic and inspirational lead to galvanise the response to CAPVA (Child or adolescent to parent violence or abuse) within the Merseyside area. This is a second tier role which involves coordinating, training and supporting professionals to recognise and respond to CAPVA.  The postholder will be engaging with a variety of professionals who work across services dedicated to children and young people including health, education, early help and children’s services.

The aim of the role is to remove the barriers families face in accessing support by ensuring that staff in universal services can recognise and respond to CAPVA. Working to reduce the stigma and shame associated with CAPVA and ensuring that parents can reach out in confidence that they will be listened to and supported. 

The role involves mapping and coordinating current CAPVA intervention to identify systemic gaps in provision. The post holder will be responsible for developing and building a delivery plan focusing on identified gaps, building on current provision and providing training in identified areas of need. They will need to bring together the insights of service users, practitioners, specialist organisations and researchers to build solutions. 

Extensive CAPVA knowledge is not required as full training will be given. A background of working with young people who harm and training experience is essential as is a non judgemental approach.

• Work with the Director of Development and Executive Director of Communications, Engagement and Development to create and implement a highly ambitious and sustainable regular and annual giving strategy in support of the College’s short, medium, and long-term vision.  
• Be responsible for the day-to-day management of regular and annual giving activities.
• Prepare and manage detailed plans for the execution of appeals including digital, direct mail and/or personal solicitations.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure rigorous gift management administrations systems and accurate maintenance of prospect data.
• Manage follow-up action when pledges and gifts are received including ensuring that supporters are appropriately recognised and stewarded.
• Conduct data analysis to understand donor behaviour and prevailing themes and trends and develop data driven annual giving strategies.
• Support fundraising strategy through the implementation of strong support systems, and day-to-day administrative practices. 
• Ensure all fundraising activities undertaken in support of the College are performed to the highest standards and in accordance with best practice as established by professional bodies such as CASE, IDPE and the Institute for Fundraising. 
• Ensure that all activities comply fully with the relevant Data Protection and any other legislation in the UK and overseas.
• Work with external stakeholders, volunteers, and other supporters to maximise their relationships and networks. 
• Produce timely, relevant, and accurate reports on progress and projections on all development activities. 
• Maintain knowledge of best practice in fundraising and related matters, refreshing skills as necessary

South East London Mind has been delivering a young person’s counselling service to students at Southwark College for several years.

As a Young People’s Counsellor, you’ll provide an age-appropriate counselling service that allows the students to explore their mental health and wellbeing, along with the socioeconomic factors that impact this. You’ll manage a caseload of students, triaging new clients to the service, coordinating the waiting list and capturing data and outcome measures on a CRM database.

We are looking for someone with a professionally-recognised diploma or equivalent in Counselling or Psychotherapy who has experience of providing counselling to young people aged 14 upwards. As you’ll be working closely with pastoral staff on-site, an ability to work independently but collaboratively, to be proactive and show initiative is essential for this role.

The role will involve:

• Offering age-appropriate counselling sessions, including assessments and risk assessments 
• Working with teachers and pastoral staff to ensure that students are triaged and the relevant level of care and support is offered
• Record keeping: maintaining up-to-date records of work undertaken, including session notes, service records and Views CRM database records
• Contributing to quarterly monitoring reports, including reflections on key themes and issues experienced by students, case studies, and outcome measurement tools
• Liaising where appropriate with other SEL Mind staff, school/college staff or agencies including local statutory and voluntary sector professionals and organisations
• Attendance at regular supervisions with the Head of Services and meeting with other Young People’s Counsellors to keep abreast of key issues and needs across the service

About the Secular Clergy Common Fund

The Fund was established around 1701 and is a charity providing grants to support sick and retired Catholic priests in the South-East of England, who are the members of the Fund. The Fund also looks after two Victorian Catholic cemeteries in London. The six Administrators of the Fund are elected by the members and act as Trustees of the charity.

Key Responsibilities

1. To provide leadership for and line management of the Fund and its cemeteries, in line with strategies and policies developed in partnership with the Administrators.

2. Together with the Chief Administrator, to enable the Administrators to fulfil their duties and responsibilities for the proper governance of the charity and to ensure that they receive timely advice and appropriate information on all relevant matters.

3. To administer the grant making and membership activities of the Secular Clergy Common fund, in line with the rules of the Fund and in the light of the decisions of the Administrators.

Key Tasks

1. Governance

· To act as the clerk and executive officer for the Administrators of the Fund.

o To clerk meetings of the Administrators (3 or 4 per year).

o Liaison with Auditors, Investment Managers, Bankers, Solicitors, Health and Safety Adviser, Charity Commission, Companies House, HMRC, and others as directed or agreed with the Administrators.

o To report significant matters in a timely manner to the Chief Administrator.

· To assist the Administrators in review of their operational and strategic risks and the implementation and monitoring of measures arising from this.

· To advise the Administrators on the strategic development of the charity.

· To ensure that the charity fulfils all its legal, statutory and regulatory responsibilities

o To periodically review the charity’s arrangements for Employment, GDPR and Health and Safety other significant areas and present recommendations to the Administrators to bring them up to date.

· To maintain records of members, including correspondence for admission of new members and receipt of subscriptions.

· To maintain financial records for the Fund

o Including of investment portfolio transactions as advised by Investment Managers (HSBC Private Bank).

· To arrange the AGM and dinner.

3. St Mary’s & St Patrick’s Cemeteries

· To act as line manager for the two cemeteries and work closely with the Cemetery Manager.

· To assist the Administrators in developing a medium- to long-term strategy for the cemeteries.

· To manage the strategic development of the cemeteries as financially sustainable ‘places of rest and hope, comfort to the living, signs of their hope for unending life’.

· To assist the Cemetery Manager in development of action plans for the cemeteries, agree them with the Administrators and support their implementation.

· To ensure that all policies and procedures for the cemeteries are up to date and compliant with all relevant areas of legislation and regulation, and reflective of good practice, reviewing and developing them as appropriate and agreeing key policies with the Administrators.

· To assist with accounting and finance for the cemeteries, possibly including accounting, payments and payroll.

· To address issues concerning the cemeteries which the Cemetery Manager has been unable to resolve.
