Key responsibilities for this post will include:

• Maintaining the alumnae database, including planning, integration of other data sources across the school, liaising with colleagues across the school ensuring data integrity, GDPR and best practices.
• Following and maintaining clear processes to capture data supporting the development and alumnae activities and communications - ensuring that information is imported and recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
• Creating an annual timeline for data transference across the school, setting out and following clear process and structure. Including new alumnae, new parents, former parents and staff data.

The Funding Management team is looking for a Funding Manager, in Belfast.

This role is responsible for all aspects of funding management across a portfolio of restricted funds, ensuring that we are meeting all the Funders and The Trusts requirements. Working effectively across teams to maximise income, increase performance and ensure compliance, to allow The Trust to maximise its support to young people.

You will use your contract/funding management skills to ensure that we are able to maximise income, increase performance and ensure compliance.  By working across teams and drawing on your time management, leadership, communication, governance, audit and problem solving skills you will ensure that expenditure claims and reports are compiled accurately and in a timely fashion, and that we comply with all reporting and evidencing requirements for output monitoring.

You will to ensure that The Trust has accurate monthly accounts by preparing drawdown, accrual and deferral figures for the monthly finance return and regularly reviewing the Debtors Report to ensure sufficient cash flow and will manage all funder and internal audits and ensure recommendations are acted upon, sharing best practice across the team.

Co-production is about a new way of doing things together and building a new partnership between statutory services, residents and the voluntary sector.  It’s an exciting time in Hammersmith & Fulham, as coproduction is becoming the driving force for how decisions are made and services are developed.

At Sobus, we want to ensure the VCS are fully and meaningfully engaged in coproduction opportunities.  We want to develop coproduction approaches with statutory organisations which enable and empower the voice of the VCS, and build the skills and capacity of VCS orgs to coproduce their own services with local residents.

Their key services include St Joseph’s, which provides education and support for adults with learning disabilities and their families. The Charity is part of a well- established Diocese which supports people of all faiths and none and embraces the wide and varied social needs of those north of the Thames, from Heathrow in the West to Bow in the East. An exciting opportunity exists for a Trusts and Foundations Fundraising Manager to join the team. As the Trusts and Foundations Manager, you will support in the development and delivery of a seven-figure income target from new and existing trusts, foundations and statutory founders. This is a part-time (4 days a week), permanent role with flexible working options. Hybrid and other forms of working can be discussed further. Salary up to £35k, for 4 days work.

Who are we looking for?

Ideal candidates will have a successful track record of meeting income targets. You will have good knowledge of budgeting and financial control and an interest in researching and preparing imaginative funding packages. You will have previous experience in researching potential Trust and Foundations to approach as well directly applying for funds and writing proposals. Experience of planning, analysis and understanding monitoring and evaluation is also essential for this role. You will be well organised, self-motivated and  comfortable using Microsoft packages and be familiar with the use of databases and spreadsheets. Experience with databases such as Donorfy would be a bonus however it is not essential for the role. Your approach to work will be collegiate and you will work well within a team environment as well as taking your own initiative. As Group Finance Manager, you will play a leading role in the Enabling Services team at an innovative international charity focussed on climate initiatives, enabling the organization to deliver innovation that creates the change we have committed to, meet our funders’ needs, and support our partners and community 

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Group Finance Manager, will oversee and manage the monthly close process, lead the preparation of year-end financial statements for the group, and coordinate the annual audit. These responsibilities should be underpinned by a focus on user experience and on fit-for-purpose platforms, processes, procedures, systems, and tools. 

Key Responsibilities
 

Management
•  Manage and develop 2-3 finance assistants
•  Manage interactions with teams across the organisation, collaborating in the key processes of financial management and provide guidance and advice to the business. 

Month-End Process and Close:
•  Oversee and manage the monthly close process, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and completed within the month end timetable.
•  Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring that all discrepancies are investigated and resolved in a timely manner.
•  Work with the finance team to ensure the accuracy of the trial balance and prepare key month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, and provisions.
•  Ensure all intercompany transactions and balances are reconciled and eliminate intercompany profit, and are in line with transfer pricing requirements
•  Perform detailed variance analysis of key financial statements, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
•  Collaborate with other departments (e.g., FP&A, clusters) to ensure accurate financial data for reporting.
•  Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies throughout the close process.

Year-end accounts process
•  Lead the timely and accurate preparation of financial information in line with statutory reporting, management accounting, and funder requirements. 
•  Coordinate and lead the preparation and audit of the consolidated Group entities and branch financials. This includes: 
o  Liaising with the external auditors
o  Preparing and managing the timetable for preparation and audit of the financial statements, ensuring all financial statements are signed off within required timelines.
o  Assisting local teams in resolving audit queries as necessary, ensuring local audits are completed on time, within budget and with minimal issues or adjustments. 
o  Preparing consolidated financial statements

Local reporting and compliance
•  Manage reporting timelines including filing deadlines for assigned funds and all branches in the structure, and that all deadlines (e.g., lenders, investors, statutory) are met. 
•  Perform high-level review of local branches companies; review financial statements prepared by local teams
•  Ensure timely compliance with donors, audit and statutory reporting as required; ensure the remediation of audit recommendations and implementation of financial / risk reporting decisions by governance bodies. 

Controls and conintuous improvement
•  Drive strong financial control and advocate financial priorities to the business.  
•  Continuous improvement of ERP system for the finance team. 
•  Support financial and performance reviews using monthly dashboard. 
•  Report financial results and ensure compliance with GDPR Guidelines. 
•  Encourage and enable shared ownership of high integrity data. 
 

Education/Qualifications

• Holder of a recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, etc.) with over six years post qualification experience. 

Experience

• Experience in the preparation of management, statutory and Group consolidation accounts. 

• Substantial experience of working in complex entities with multi-national interests and distributed teams (working in different locations and through remote or virtual working) and experience of managing finance teams. 

• Experience of multiple sectors, ideally with a mix of public and private; experience in the not-for-profit sector/grant making environment including EU grant funding would be highly beneficial.
