This role is part of the Connexional Team Learning Network, supporting, encouraging, and equipping the Church to live out ‘Our Calling’ through worship, mission, evangelism and discipleship. The Learning Network primarily works with lay and ordained leaders, helping them equip others.
This post contributes to Connexional-wide learning and development initiatives, and is specifically aligned with the Wales Synod Cymru District as the Welsh speaking Learning and Development Officer (LDO) and the new West Midlands District following the merger of the current Birmingham District and the Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury District on 1st September 2025. Wales Synod Cymru is a bilingual District of 16 circuits, including the Welsh language Cymru Circuit which covers the whole of Wales, and the West Midlands District has 20 circuits across Birmingham, Wolverhampton and the Black Country, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Herefordshire, Shropshire and Staffordshire. Both districts are diverse in terms of population groupings and serve communities in rural, market towns, suburbs and city centre settings.

Job Summary
Taking a leading role as part of the Individual Giving management team, you play an important part in helping to achieve a step change in the growth of the net voluntary income of St John. The role will work closely across Individual Giving and the wider Fundraising Directorate to develop an evolving supporter acquisition strategy that will aim to recruit new supporters with a focus on digital. The role needs to focus on managing the implementation of the strategy including using insight and data to develop, implement, manage, monitor and evaluate campaigns across a range of channels, with a cutting edge and contemporary approach whilst staying current with the continuously changing legislation and support climate. Responsibilities include working with agencies and suppliers to project manage the full cycle of direct marketing campaigns.
About You
- Significant experience in a third sector direct marketing role
- Track record in managing effective digital campaigns on a national or regional basis
- Experience of using fundraising databases e.g. Raiser’s Edge, Microsoft Dynamics or similar
- Extensive experience of using a variety of fundraising channels including digital, email social media, direct mail, telemarketing and SMS
- Experience of leading a revenue generating team, including generation of six figure acquisition income
About the Role
- Oversee the supporter acquisition programme, taking responsibility for outstanding donor recruitment with the highest standard of quality and compliance and ensuring a diverse programme mix; ensuring they are in market on time, on budget and on brand.
- Develop an annual plan of acquisition activity; monitoring and analysing all campaign results, with ongoing test and learn mechanisms in place to drive continuous improvement and making recommendations for future activity to effectively maximise income and ROI
- Working collaboratively with key fundraising and data teams; lead the development and continuous improvement of new supporter product development
- Strong agency relationship management across a variety of partners and suppliers, from building relationships and negotiating to contract and routine performance reviews

Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Specialist (Girls and Gangs)
This is a new role focusing on working with girls who are at risk of entering the Criminal Justice System through their associations and links to Urban Street Gangs in Leeds. Your Role: What You’ll Do
Volunteer Recruitment, Opportunities, Training and Support
- Recruit, manage, motivate and support volunteers in their various roles at the Trust
- Match volunteers to most suitable tasks based on their interests, skills and the needs of UKST
- Assess and support colleagues’ volunteering requirements with the Support, Corporate Partnership, Fundraising and Clinical teams

EduSpots is an innovative, dynamic, and community-driven UK and Ghanaian registered charity which connects, trains, and equips voluntary community educators (named ‘Catalysts’) to drive community-led change through education spaces named ‘Spots’. About this role
We are looking for an engaging and dynamic fundraising specialist and team player with a proven track record of income generation through trusts and foundations, to take on this exciting new role at this exciting point of our organisational growth.
Over the last two years, EduSpots has significantly grown its income through trusts and foundations, and advanced the quality, scope and reach of its operations in Ghana, with further plans for expansion in the years ahead. We are looking for an individual that understands the value of community-led change, with all our work centred on, and resulting from the actions of 400 locally-based educational Catalysts.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will take on the responsibility for growing our income generation with a focus on trusts and foundations. We are looking for an experienced individual, who is able to work closely with the CEO to develop larger fundraising partnerships at this exciting point in our development.
Depending on availability and experience, this individual may oversee a small part-time fundraising team, comprising a Fundraising Manager, Trusts and Foundations Manager, and Communications Manager, alongside interns and other income-generation roles that may emerge. The role has the potential to grow into a ‘Head of Fundraising’ position over time.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this role are to:
- Lead the development and execution of a global fundraising strategy that focuses on medium-large and multi-year commitments from trusts and foundations, as well as potentially the development of corporate partnerships which align to EduSpots’ values and/or donations from major donors, dependent on experience.
- Work with the CEO, and Ghana-based Heads of Programmes and Head of Operations to develop and write strategic programme and organisational bids, feeding into the wider strategic development of the organisation.
- Create and implement robust policies and procedures for donor identification, cultivation and tracking to ensure efforts are coordinated at a global level and ensure that opportunities to acquire new supporters are fully explored.
- Work with the CEO and boards to identify potential new supporters through their networks, also taking an active role in networking to position EduSpots within key audiences for potential support.
- Work with the CEO and Communications Manager to develop a compelling case for support and a suite of materials for donor engagement that can showcase the importance of EduSpots’ work internationally.
- Create bespoke stewardship plans for existing donors that demonstrate the impact of their support, foster mutual trust and secure renewed support for EduSpots’ work.
- Oversee the organization of EduSpots’ relationships with trusts and foundations, and other major donors, including oversight of reporting, database management and wider communication, working closely with the CEO.
- Monitor and analyse philanthropic trends and best practices to enhance fundraising effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with international fundraising regulations and ethical standards.
- Depending on experience and time availability, manage and mentor a team of fundraising professionals to achieve targets and organisational objectives. This includes an experienced trusts and foundations manager (1 day a week) with a focus on small-medium UK based family trusts, and wider community fundraising and communications roles in the team.
Other:
- To contribute to the Charity’s fundraising and other strategies, as well as supporting the development of the annual business plan and budget, and assisting with the preparation of Annual Report and supporting the wider team with professional development.

Skills, Experience and Attributes
Essential
- Proven track record of income generation – ideally in a similar education / international development organisation.
- Extensive experience with writing compelling and successful grant applications, with a focus on 5 to 6 figures (GBP) in size.
- Experience of establishing and managing effective relationships with trusts, foundations and grant-makers, and reporting to funds and donors, with strong database management.
- Strong knowledge of a wide range of UK-based funders, as well as of some international (European / US based) funders.
- Strong understanding of programme development and management, ideally in the education context.
- Some experience of communications and marketing in an NGO context is needed; experience of wider fundraising such as corporate partnerships, individual giving and campaigns may be an advantage but is not a requirement for this role.
- Friendly and flexible team player, with an ability to work with people across diverse contexts, inspiring the team and wider colleagues towards achieving our shared goals.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote based role with minimal day-to-day support
- Outstanding interpersonal skills alongside excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to advocate for our work online and in person.

Role Summary
Are you an experienced project and relationship manager, passionate about changing the food system? You could soon be leading an exciting new programme to make hospital food in the UK healthier and more planet-friendly. You’ll support our Head of Programmes, carrying out a wide range of tasks, including securing new partnerships with hospital trusts, providing advice on menus, managing relationships, and collecting data to measure the impact of the programme. You’ll develop and deliver an effective strategy, starting with a pilot project with one NHS Trust before rolling the strategy out across the country.
Hospital Plates is the sister programme to our successful School Plates programme. Since the launch of School Plates in 2018, we’ve supported over 90 major school caterers, responsible for the food in over 8,000 schools, feeding over 1.3 million children every day, helping almost 50 million school meals become meat-free or plant-based. Our plan is to replicate this scale of impact in the hospital sector, using the experience and insights we’ve gained within schools.
Reporting directly to our Head of Programmes, you’ll also work closely with our School Plates team including our Programme Coordinators and Chef Trainers, as well as our Public Health Lead, Communications Manager, Director, and the rest of our team.

Responsibilities
- Create a clear and effective strategy for delivering impactful menu change in UK hospitals.
- Launch and complete a pilot of the programme, managing the process from the start.

- Conduct outreach to hospital trusts to build a network of contacts, engage new partners, and manage and develop these relationships.
