The Role

These roles offer flexibility for home and office working with travel to appointments to meet clients across London is required.

As an Independent Victim Advocate you will provide high quality, holistic support to clients, including victims of sexual violence. As a Complex Case Independent Victim Advocate you will work Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with some evening and weekend working on occasion.

You will need to be able to manage a demanding workload, travel to appointments with clients and to meet a range of conflicting deadlines.

About You

You will have:

• An understanding of the impact of crime on victims such as anti-social behaviour, domestic abuse, sexual violence and hate crime.
• A proven track record of successfully delivering services and working directly within a statutory, voluntary or multi agency setting(s).
• Experience of managing a caseload including complex case management.
• Experience of outcome focussed working
• A full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle and business insurance essential for some areas, for example rural locations (requirement will be discussed at interview)

We're seeking an experienced and inspirational leader to Chair our Independent Advisory Group (IAG) whose role is to provide independent advice to the Travalyst Board and Secretariat on the delivery of Travalyst’s strategy. As Chair, you'll provide independent strategic guidance, critical insights, and expert advice to shape Travalyst’s initiatives and impact. This role requires a commitment of approximately 1-2 days per month over an initial two-year term (with the possibility of renewal).

Your Impact

• Set the IAG’s agenda and priorities, in close collaboration with the Travalyst CEO and Board Chair.

• Chair a minimum of six virtual meetings per year, bringing all IAG Members together to share learning and provide strategic business updates; ensuring that divergent opinions are heard and respected, and that the group forms a collective view when needed.

• Ensure that the IAG’s advice is timely, relevant, and delivered appropriately to the Board and/or Secretariat.

• Attending Travalyst Board meetings to give updates on IAG activities, performance and learnings (likely 1-2 per year).

• Attending Travalyst’s Annual Convening (likely 2 days per year, usually in Europe).

• Regular strategy and operations meetings with the Secretariat and Travalyst COO.

• Regular status meetings and 1:1 check-ins with IAG Members.

• Regular status meetings with the Travalyst Secretariat.

• Ad hoc meetings, calls, reading/ document reviews, and email exchanges.

• Be accountable for the performance of the IAG.

• Champion Travalyst’s work externally.

About the IAG

Our IAG is comprised of a global group of some of the world’s leading travel and sustainability experts. The role of the IAG is to provide independent advice to the Travalyst Board and Secretariat on the delivery of Travalyst’s strategy. Its primary remit is the expert review of Travalyst’s product roadmaps, including impact evaluation. In addition, the IAG’s proactive advice is invited on any topic, including Travalyst’s strategy and theory of change.

The IAG currently has six members, appointed as a core group of experts with a systemic view of travel and tourism. We expect this group to grow to 8-10 members during 2025/6, to fill specific gaps in expertise. IAG Members are appointed by the Secretariat, in consultation with the IAG Chair.

Where needed, the IAG may form a task group (including external subject matter experts) with a clear, time-bound remit. External subject matter experts are appointed by the Secretariat, in consultation with the IAG Chair.

The IAG sets its agenda and priorities through close collaboration between the IAG Chair, Travalyst CEO, and Travalyst Board Chair. It is accountable to its Terms of Reference, which are approved by the Board.

Who you are

You are a visionary leader passionate about sustainability and global travel transformation.

You bring:

• Exceptional people and leadership skills, with a talent for managing nuanced discussion, driving consensus, and building trust.

• Strategic business acumen and proven experience guiding high-impact advisory groups.

• Strong understanding of the travel and tourism space is preferable, to inform robust decisions on complex and nuanced topics.

• Good knowledge of research methods, and the ability to discern robust arguments made from research.

Support available to you as IAG Chair

Operational support from the Secretariat will include:

• Ensuring the smooth operational running of the IAG to deliver its agenda, priorities and roadmap.

• Preparing, supporting and debriefing IAG meetings, and managing records of key advice and decisions.

• Leading recruitment and onboarding of new IAG Members and/or subject matter experts.

• Monitoring IAG governance processes and performance, and making recommendations for improving processes.

Honorarium

The IAG Chair will be offered an annual honorarium, in recognition of the critical role played by the IAG and the time commitment required for full participation and leadership.

Additionally, pre-approved reasonable out-of-pocket expenses can be reimbursed, where required.

Key Responsibilities:

• To develop, implement and manage regional (community) fundraising the associated income and expenditure budgets, ensuring that all budget targets are achieved

About the Youth Endowment Fund

We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.  

In recent years violent crime has risen significantly. Homicides, assaults, robberies and offences involving weapons have all seen sustained growth. We have also seen large increases in violent crime involving children and young people. This is a tragedy. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment and a mission that matters. We exist to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence across England and Wales. We do this by funding great initiatives, finding out what works and working for change. 

Key Responsibilities

Your role is to ensure YEF’s funding is directed toward the most crucial gaps in evidence – those that, if filled, will lead to meaningful change for young people. You will oversee the selection of the most promising, evaluable interventions to test in England and Wales, ensure trials are set up successfully, and work with our Evaluation team to deliver high-quality impact evaluations.

More specifically, you will:

Provide team and organisational leadership

• Provide inspirational leadership to the Programmes Team of ten people, ensuring they are best-in-class at supporting delivery organisations to engage in robust evaluation.

• Oversee the Programmes team, including direct line management of four Programme & Impact Leads.

• Ensure the expertise within the Programmes Team is embedded in YEF’s wider work, drawing on the team’s experience of working with delivery organisations to help shape policy and practice recommendations.

• Represent YEF externally, ensuring our funding programmes are well understood and aligned with our sectors’ needs.

• Directly contribute to annual and multi-year planning as part of YEF’s operational planning cycle.

• Be responsible for tracking and reporting progress against our key organisational performance metrics. 

• Help build and model a culture where it is natural to perform well, and colleagues support one another to do so.

Hold strategic oversight of new evaluation commissioning

• Work with the Assistant Director of Evaluation to shape and implement YEF’s strategy for programme and evaluation commissioning. 

• Oversee the team in identifying and developing proposals for new trials within our main sectors. 

• Assess the feasibility and strategic value of evaluation proposals, making stop/go decisions on their progression.

• Ensure the Programmes Team effectively supports grantees to work with evaluators to co-design interventions and develop clear, robust plans for trial setup and delivery.

• Oversee the development of high-quality proposals for new trials, assuring quality and presenting clear recommendations for our Grants and Evaluation Committee.

Be responsible for the ongoing oversight of the full portfolio of evaluations 

• Lead and be accountable for delivering on YEF’s Race Equity commitments within our funding decisions and grant delivery.

• Serve as a senior escalation point for a portfolio of c.50 live trials, maintaining oversight of progress across our portfolio of live trials and intervening early when we spot risks.

• Oversee the financial management of the team’s project portfolio across c.50 live trials, ensuring effective budget oversight, approving grant payments, and maintaining financial accountability.

• Provide direct advice and guidance to the Programmes Team on the setup and delivery of our most complex trials.

• Ensure the rapid mobilisation of new trials following approval.

Build meaningful partnerships and strengthen the organisation’s influence

• Be responsible for partnership opportunities with central Government—holding key relationships, assessing the strategic value of co-funded evaluation projects, and overseeing Heads of Evaluation to negotiate new partnerships terms.

• Steward strategic relationships with other key stakeholders, including other research and policy organisations, funders, and delivery organisations that will help us influence change.

• Represent the Fund on boards, committees and events, including providing up-to-date information to external audiences on YEF-funded activity, and sitting on the board of external organisations linked to YEF’s work.

• Be proactive in identifying co-funding opportunities and ensuring fundraising targets are met for new and existing evaluations.

The Role 

The Clubhouse Social Café Manager will lead on the implementation of the of café (Due to open in October 2024) and will manage the Food and Beverage Operations in line with food, and health and safety regulations. You will be involved in the initial set-up of the facility. 

You  will be responsible for managing the day to day running of the café, providing a diverse of community and health wellbeing projects in collaboration with Trust Senior Manager - Health and Wellbeing. They will also manage and mentor staff and trainees to deliver an effective and inclusive service to customers.

About You 

We are looking for a passionate, inspiring catering/hospitality specialist to lead on training, mentoring and the hospitality operation of our new Clubhouse Café at Gunnersbury Park. The café is part of the new Community Sports hub at the site and will also double as a social and community space linking into community projects for all ages. Projects will include mental and physical health with the space acting as a central meeting/training hub. In this capacity you will work closely with the Trust's Health and Wellbeing Senior Manager. 

We are partnering with the homeless charity Change Please to create a West London training hub. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and training the café team. Our founder partners in the project are The University of West London (UWL) and the Premier League and Professional Footballers Association Fund. We are linking with the University to offer a range of immersive opportunities for their catering and business students and our Café Manager will link with them on a number of working projects.

The other aspect is the promotion and training in the importance of food, health and performance and the Manager will work with our Trust team to create innovative content and inspiring outreach programmes. Whilst we expect the Manager to have an active interest in food and nutrition, we plan to put some catering support and training in place to support the position.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who has appropriate experience to lead the food and beverage side of the operation. They will be involved in the initial set-up of the facility (Due to open in Summer 2025) and the establishment of appropriate operation and health and safety procedures.

We have developed a sustainable business plan, however you will have the opportunity of contributing to the ongoing development plan. We have the benefit of understanding who our customers are, when they are, and even when they will arrive! This will need to be balanced with the social and community programme, and whilst it will be a challenge, it will also make for an enriched role in dealing with a range of people and organisations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on the implementation of the café, including the setup, adherence to food and health safety and regulations, and staffing.
• Development and procurement of suppliers for café to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Contribute to and delivery of project-based business plans as directed by the CEO and Head of Social, Education and Health Hub.
• To  organise and manage the preparation and presentation of food whilst ensuring agreed standards are maintained at all times, and that any special dietary needs are catered for.
• Adherence to HACCP and all other food safety regulations and COSHH regulations., ensuring the statutory requirements are met and all necessary records are maintained.
• Deal with customer feedback in a courteous, efficient and timely manner, monitoring and evaluating this feedback, making appropriate recommendations and taking action for service improvements.
• Working safely with kitchen equipment and ensuring that all other health and safety procedures are followed.
• To maintain a clean, healthy and safe working environment in accordance with guidelines.
• To mentor staff, trainees and work experience students in the effective operation of the facility.
• Deliver appropriate training to Clubhouse Café Staff, to foster a culture of excellent customer service.
• Stay informed about safeguarding policies, procedures, and best practices.

• Level 1,2 and 3 Food Safety Awards
• Level 2 Health and Safety in the Workplace Award
• Awareness of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) and chemical safety
• Experience of kitchen equipment

• Experience as a manager responsible for compliance, particularly health & safety and licensing, as well as finances in a food and beverage business.

About the Youth Endowment Fund 

We’re here to prevent children from becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to change things.

In recent years, violent crime involving children has increased. This is a tragedy. Every child is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them.

The Youth Endowment Fund (YEF) is a charity with a £200m endowment that exists to prevent children from becoming involved in violence. We’ll achieve this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice. We do this by funding, evaluating and then spreading the very best work on reducing youth violence across England and Wales.

The Area Leaders Programme (ALP) is central to this mission. The ALP will transform how areas identify and support young people and places most vulnerable to violence, collaborate effectively, and deliver impactful interventions to better protect children from being drawn into violence. We are seeking an exceptional senior manager to help drive the next phase of the ALP, scaling from a successful pilot in four Local Authorities to broader implementation across England and Wales. 

Key Responsibilities 

The Senior Area Leaders Programmes Manager will be an essential part of the YEF Change team and will support the expansion and delivery of the Area Leaders Programme, ensuring its effectiveness in increasing evidence-based decision-making, commissioning, and multi-agency collaboration. You will provide direct operational oversight and stakeholder engagement to support local areas in reducing youth involvement in violence.  Approximately 0.4fte of the role will be presenting YEF Toolkit evidence in both the ALP and across wider violence prevention networks supported by the YEF.

This will include: 

Programme Management and Delivery 

• Support the management of the expansion of ALP from four pilot areas to 10 new local authority areas from spring 2025. 
• Support the development and refinement of frameworks, tools, and resources to support effective identification of the people and places most vulnerable to violence, evidence-based commissioning, effective case management, and multi-agency collaboration. 
• Commission and manage contractual arrangements with external consultants secured to support ALP development and delivery. 
• Manage robust monitoring and evaluation processes to assess the impact and inform continuous improvement of the programme. 
• Manage programme resources effectively, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high standards. 

Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration 

• Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, safeguarding partnerships, community safety partnerships, and other stakeholders. 
• Represent YEF in discussions with partners and policymakers. 
• Help facilitate collaboration across diverse stakeholders to align priorities, overcome barriers, and promote evidence-based approaches. 

Capacity Building and Support 

• Provide strategic and operational support to multi-agency teams, empowering them to embed effective violence prevention practices. 
• Lead capacity-building activities, including workshops, coaching, training, and peer learning opportunities for local partnerships. 

Presenting Toolkit evidence.

• You will present Toolkit evidence in talks and workshops and speak clearly and persuasively about Toolkit evidence, so that insights from our research lead to positive change. You’ll work with key stakeholders to identify areas of policy and practice that should be informed by Toolkit evidence.

Hybrid Working
