About the role: 

Support to Head of Advice and Support

• Line management of three case workers
• Deliver the service in accordance with Providence Row, policies & procedures and values
• Work to service improvement objectives and team plans
• Contribute to the day to day management of the premises to ensure that facilities run smoothly for staff and service users
• Support management and other workers to manage any Incidents on site
• Contribute to partnership development
• Work alongside colleagues to ensure cross departmental support and appropriate support of shared clients

Client support

• Contribute to the smooth running of the Centre to ensure Providence Row is an enabling environment
• Assist managers and the frontline team to review client related incidents and follow up on complaints
• To ensure all clients are given appropriate trauma informed advice & support to improve their situation
• Ensure safeguarding of vulnerable adults processes are followed, where necessary and work with the organisational safeguarding lead

Team support

•   Supervise three case workers
•  Complete regular supervision, case work management and annual appraisals
• Contribute to the Providence Row assessment procedure
• Support colleagues with technical queries relating to case progression
• Attend training relating to housing advice and present the learning back to staff teams
•  Ensuring the team are rehearsed in all policies and procedures
•  Support the team to identify training for continued learning and development

Monitor and evaluate work, demonstrating impact

• Ensuring monitoring systems are up to date and that development is ongoing
• Assisting with the review of assessment and recording systems
• Working with other department leads on service user feedback collation
• Keeping accurate financial records of the teams expenditure
• Oversee Advice & Support Team contract monitoring reports for commissioners to ensure delivery against the service objectives and KPI’s.
• Attend contract monitoring meetings alongside the Head of Advice & Support

Partnership Work

• Work with the Head of Advice & Support to identify new partnerships while also developing existing arrangements
• Supporting the team with attendance at key networking events
• Contributing to the community engagement plan
• Contribution to fundraising and community events including open evenings

Title: Crisis at Christmas Locum Outreach Worker (Day Centres)

Contract: Casual worker in December 2024 – a minimum of three shifts, 8-hour shifts between Tuesday 24 Dec and Saturday 28 Dec 2024

A fantastic locum opportunity for skilled Outreach workers who have front line experience supporting rough sleepers.

You will be working at our Christmas Day Centres to engage with our guests looking for help, guidance, and support around their housing situation, especially those who are believed to currently be rough sleeping.

You will be employed  directly by Crisis during this period, for this reason any applications must be with permission from your current employer which must be sought and cannot be assumed.

Holiday entitlement will be calculated as 12.07% of actual hours worked and equates to approximately £3.80 per hour for bank holidays worked and £2.40 per hour for non-bank holiday work.

Working requirements, salary & benefits

• Salary between £22,000 and £24,000 dependant on location and experience, plus pension scheme

A fantastic locum opportunity for support workers who have front line experience supporting rough sleepers. You will be working with guests in Crisis at Christmas hotel accommodation to establish move-ons and next steps after the project closes.

Whilst it is not possible to find an immediate housing solution for everyone in the hotels, we aim to give advice and next steps to every guest who stays with us. The Crisis at Christmas project benefits from huge support from the GLA and local authorities, drug & alcohol services and SIAS immigration lawyers from each of the 5 subregions. There is a huge opportunity at Christmas to engage clients who do not usually connect with services, and this is reflected in the offers of support they receive.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Education Centre Assistant in our Training, Education and Development team at St Joseph’s Hospice.

We are looking for someone who has experience in administration and working in a customer service-focused busy environment.

The Training, Education and Development (TED) Team has been established to promote and deliver high-quality evidenced-based education to external stakeholders and internally to Hospice staff, which will help transform the care of people in the communities we serve and beyond. The TED Education Centre staff provide essential support to the rest of the TED Team and are integral to the smooth running and day-to-day operation of the Education Centre and TED service. They work as a team to cover core duties at all times and essential role specific duties during planned and unplanned absences. The team is co-ordinated on a day-to-day basis by the Centre Manager.

Senior Advice Office with Autism Lead

Salary: £31,786

Full Time (35 hours per week)

The successful applicant will have knowledge and experience of the issues as they relate to Carers.  They will have experience of giving information and advice, particularly welfare benefits, as well as advocating on behalf of another and providing one to one support. They will have excellent communication and IT skills, and a commitment to working in the voluntary sector. In addition, they will have experience of project development, delivering frontline services and supervising staff.

We're looking for two proactive & passionate individuals to join our Housing Advice team to deliver an effective housing advice and advocacy service to young people accessing our day centre.

You will be working within our Housing team to deliver an effective advice service for young people. You should be experienced in delivering housing advice within a youth and community or other relevant setting, of supporting clients with multiple and complex needs, and have a proven track record of referring and progressing vulnerable people into suitable accommodation. There are two roles available.

Key details

• Contract type and hours: Permanent. The role is full-time, 35 hours per week Monday to Friday. Some work over the Christmas period will also be required.
• Salary: The starting salary for the role is £31,200. The salary scale is £31,200 to £34,736 pro rata.

Main tasks and responsibilities

Young people's services

Delivering a housing advice service to young people with multiple needs. This will include:

1. Working to ensure young people receive a high-quality service from the point of registration to move-on. Taking a hands-on approach to dealing with complex or difficult cases.
2. Carrying out thorough needs assessments with young people accessing the service in order to refer young people into appropriate accommodation and to external specialist services.
3. Providing young people with expert advice and guidance relating to their housing situation. Monitoring and evaluating young people’s progress.
4. Engaging other relevant external partners, able to provide accommodation and other move on opportunities to young people.
5. Referring young people to other internal New Horizon Youth Centre teams in order to support their progression, including Health, Youth Work, Outreach and Jobs, Education and Training.
6. Providing advocacy and referring young people to a wide range of specialist external advice services including around advocacy, substance misuse, mental health, immigration, counselling, financial/debt advice, and legal services.
7. Attending regular briefings, team meetings, reflective practice and clinical supervision, both with NHYC and project partners. Ensuring that Health and Safety or safeguarding issues are addressed at all times.

Sharing best practice

To proactively share best practice with internal and external stakeholders in order to maximise the impact of the work of NHYC. This will include:

1. Identifying and acting to maximise NHYC’s profile by seeking out and responding to opportunities with specialists and agencies who might offer resources, funding, or individual services relevant to client needs.
2. Promoting and representing NHYC at relevant forums, meetings and events.

Information management

To produce and maintain accurate and useful information in a range of formats in order to promote effective service delivery and evaluation. This will include:

1. Recording all contacts with clients appropriately and maintaining all relevant files and recording systems.
2. Producing written reports in a variety of formats to meet the requirements of NHYC, external service providers and funders, e.g., project reviews and assessment reports.
3. Inputting and extracting information from client monitoring systems and other accounting and database systems. Utilising other relevant software for the production of reports.
4. Being self-servicing in day-to-day administration, and following team and NHYC’s administrative procedures.

Reviewing personal and professional development needs

To be proactive in reviewing and evaluating own performance and identifying and acting upon areas for improvement. This will include:

1. Reviewing and evaluating own performance to identify strengths and areas for development. Identifying own learning/development needs and opportunities.
2. Undertaking development and training opportunities and being responsible for obtaining maximum benefit through review, reflection and practice.
3. Taking a proactive approach to supervision including regular line management supervision, team meetings, team reflective practice and clinical supervision.

Other

To contribute positively and constructively to the development of the team, the service and the centre. This will include:

1. Covering for other members of the team where necessary.
2. Following NHYC’s policies, procedures and performance expectations in all functions of the post.

Job purpose

This role sits within our crisis alternative service, Safe Space, which is an out of hours service providing a safe and welcoming space for people who are feeling distressed and experiencing crisis. The service operates 365 days a year from 12:00 (midday)-11:30pm across all of our boroughs. 

​We have 3 positions available. Two full time positions at our Hammersmith & Fulham and Ealing sites, and one part time (3 days a week) at our Hounslow site.

The objectives of the service include:

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health crisis in HFEH.
• To provide support to clients accessing the service- for instance: signposting, de-escalation, planned wellbeing activities etc. 
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To treat service users with respect, dignity and personalised support
• To raise awareness of mental health services available with the goal to improve long term mental health and reduce social isolation
• To increase self-management skills of those accessing the service
• To reduce the use of police, ambulance and statutory mental health services whilst experiencing crisis.
• To reduce the use of statutory crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health without positive outcomes for the individual.

Full-time, Permanent Contract

The Paul Mellon Centre (PMC) is looking for a qualified and highly experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager who can help us create an inclusive and inspirational workplace. We are looking for someone who is interested in developing and enhancing the career and workplace experience of the people who work for our organisation through their leadership of the HR Team and provision at the PMC. Reporting to the Centre’s Chief Operating Officer, the HR Manager plays a crucial role in our organisation of around forty members of staff. We are seeking someone who takes a proactive approach to all employment matters, will research changes in the sector, is up to date with new HR systems and can provide excellent and forward-thinking advice to the Centre’s Senior Leadership Team on all matters related to HR.

Applicants will be expected to work on-site at the Paul Mellon Centre, Bedford Square, London WC1. Hours of work are 35 per week. We are happy to discuss flexible working arrangements offered by the Centre.

Salary will be in the range of £55,000 to £60,000 p.a. depending on experience. The Centre also provides a generous range of employee benefits.

Who We Are

As a research centre and educational charity, the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art (PMC) aims to generate original, inclusive and creative thinking and scholarship on British art, understood in its most diverse and expansive contexts. We host and support a thriving programme of research events. We publish innovative books and a wide range of digital outputs, including our prize-winning journal British Art Studies. We pursue individual and collaborative research projects. With our grants and fellowships programme, we sustain the most exciting and original work in British art and visual culture. We make our specialist archives and library accessible to a growing public, at Bedford Square and beyond. We deliver teaching and learning programmes and run networks that connect researchers and professionals.

The Centre was founded in 1970 by the American art collector and philanthropist Paul Mellon and our activities are supported by the endowment he gifted to Yale University. We are a partner institution to the Yale Center for British Art. Paul Mellon believed in the centrality of the arts and humanities to democratic society and valued critical thinking, the role of the imagination and the expression of ideas. We are inspired by this vision to increase access to British art across all the activities that take place at the PMC and through those we fund elsewhere.

Person Specification

The postholder will:

• be an experienced HR Manager with CIPD membership and Advanced Level 7 qualification who has a proven track record of effectively leading HR provision and services
• have a proactive aptitude for solving problems and creating solutions
• have a forward-thinking and inspirational vision for the role of HR in a charitable organisation
• have a vision for how working practices and culture can develop for the better
• be a champion for collegial interactions between colleagues
• have the ability to work across a number of projects with a fastidious eye for detail whilst keeping the bigger picture of our mission, vision and values always in mind
• have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues and external contacts
• demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and experience working with administrative processes
• have a high degree of computer literacy, with good experience of how technology and IT systems can improve HR services
• have good numerical and written communication skills
• demonstrate a collaborative approach to teamworking as well as a proven ability to work proactively and independently
• have a proven commitment to the principles of equality, inclusion and diversity (EDI)
• have excellent knowledge of current issues in equality, inclusion and diversity, and a track record of implementing EDI principles and policies

About the role:

We are pleased to offer you an exciting opportunity to join our advice team at Citizens Advice Richmond as a Manage Your Money Lead.

In this role you will be working alongside volunteer advisers, providing holistic advice and support to households in financial crisis and provide advice around income maximisation, managing fuel costs including leading on our Energy Advice Project, benefit take-up, applying for grants to help with costs arising from the cost-of-living crisis, reducing indebtedness and budgeting and money management to help to prevent future financial crisis.

The purpose of this role is to reduce the stigma for low-income households around needing and accessing financial support and give people confidence to seek cheaper alternatives to contract costs around, for example, telephone, tv and broadband.

The project includes support on preparing personal income and expenditure details which can be used by residents themselves when negotiating with debtors on repayment plans.

This work will have a focus on community-based outreach work, working alongside organisations such as foodbanks and community centres. It will aim to prevent future or recurring hardship.

This role is funded by City Bridge Foundation.
