We have an exciting opportunity to join our Income Generation and Engagement Team as an Assistant Community Fundraiser!

As an Assistant Community Fundraiser, you will play an integral part in supporting the Community Fundraising team to reach their annual income target. You will oversee the running of the Edinburgh fundraising office, including stock management and managing a small team of volunteers. You will help support the team by co-ordinating supporter and volunteer communications, and attend fundraising events when required.

About You

• Experience in an office or customer facing environment
• Ability to work independently within the role, under your own initiative and cooperatively as part of the Community fundraising team.
• Excellent administration skills with a sound working knowledge of CRM databases, Windows-based software, including Word, Excel and Outlook and Teams.

Your Role: Membership, Programmes and Events Support Assistant (Fixed Term Contract)

Contract: Fixed Term for six months - November 2024 to April 2025. We are open to applications from a PhD student or Early Career Academic.

Hours: 21 (0.6FTE). The post holder will also be expected to attend and support the PSA25 Annual Conference taking place in Birmingham from 14 -16 April 2025. 

Salary:  0.6 FTE of £25k. The post holder will additionally be compensated for in-person attendance and providing support during the Annual Conference period.

Location: All roles are based at our offices in Camden London but the PSA currently supports its staff to work remotely. Post-holders will be required, however, to come into our offices regularly (normally once a week on a Wednesday). The Membership, Programmes and Events team is a friendly bunch who work closely together with responsibility for operations and output across a wide range of our activities. These include: membership, networks, specialist groups, programmes, communications, events including the Annual Lecture and PSA Annual Conference. We are looking for someone to join the team in the six-month run up to, and including attendance at, the PSA25 Annual Conference which is our major event of the year.

Your role and responsibilities:

In terms of the PSA Annual Conference these may include, but are not limited to:

· Responding to standard/general conference email enquiries

· Communicating information and instructions to all participants

· Supporting logistics, operations and communication of information to participants via Ex Ordo (abstract management system) and our virtual conference platform

· Monitoring Ex Ordo data - for example, identifying whether someone is a paper-giver or not and emailing participants for clarification where necessary

· Communicating information and instructions to all participants

· Supporting exhibitors by communicating deadlines and details for their conference space

· Organising catering requirements to cover the conference schedule

· Sourcing venues and menu choices for the Conference Dinner and Conference Drinks events

· Supporting the award of PSA academic prizes including production of certificates

· Monitoring the Prizes in-box and helping with the response to any enquiries

· Collating Academic Prizes nominations made via JotForm for trustees and prize judges

· Joining the team in Birmingham to manage the Annual Conference, including the one-day Undergraduate conference

In terms of Membership, Networks and Specialist Groups these may include, but are not limited to:

· Supporting the reconciliation of membership data in readiness for our new database

· Assisting with general email enquiries and emailing all/specific groups of members

· Helping to prepare the data for the issue of December/January membership renewals and recording appropriately on the database

· Responding to general/standard emails from our Specialist Groups

· Replying to enquiries/requests from our Early Career Network and Teaching & Learning Network

· Facilitating Specialist Group and Network digital events including arranging Zooms as required

· Collating articles/announcements for the regular e-newsletter

Additional information: there are currently seven members of PSA staff under the leadership of the CEO. This post reports to the Membership, Events & Programmes Manager who works with two Officers in the team.

St Barnabas House, Martlets and Chestnut Tree House are seeking a Community Engagement Assistant to join the Community Engagement team.  This newly created role will provide vital support to our Events Fundraisers and Community Fundraisers enabling them to go above and beyond for our incredible supporters who go out of their way to raise crucial funds for adult and children’s hospice care in Sussex and beyond.

The Mental Health Foundation is recruiting for a Project Assistant to support our Programmes Team in Glasgow on the Reclaiming Our Power project.

This exciting Project Assistant role will work closely with the Programme Development Officer to support the development and delivery of Reclaiming Our Power. Reclaiming Our Power will explore the impact of racist microaggressions on mental health through creative peer support workshops with people with lived experience of racism, and will use learning to co-design and co-deliver learning opportunities to people working in the public and charity sectors delivering Glasgow’s services.

This project and role are funded with thanks to the National Lottery Community Fund Scotland.

What does the role involve?

• Organising events including creative peer support workshops, volunteer meetings, and training sessions
• Supporting the co-development and co-delivery of tailored training to people training/working in public-facing services

What is the overall purpose of the role?

At Youth Action Alliance, our mission is to support the personal and social development (their values, beliefs, ideas and skills) of the young people living in Kensington and Chelsea and neighbouring boroughs, enabling them to increase their resilience and skills in the present, and promote their ambitions for the future.

The Staying Connected project provides weekly one-to-one and group support for young people aged 11 - 19 years, facing multiple challenges. Creating a personal action plan comprised of positive activities that promote and enhance personal development and skills, building on young people’s strengths. This engagement is via face-to-face, online platforms, mobile phones and structured group work to maintain contact with them, talking about how they are feeling and to provide advice, mentoring and signposting to additional support services.

Key Responsibilities

Programme management

• Programme Delivery: Coordinate and oversee the development and implementation of a personal and social development programme for young people aged 11-19.
• Recruitment: Engage and recruit young people to participate in the programme.
• Partnerships: Strengthen local partnerships
• Risk and Safety: Update risk assessments and conduct regular health and safety checks
• Promotion: Manage promotional activities, including social media
• Funding Management: Handle project funding, do financial reports, and manage the budget and expenditure.
• Support Services: Provide one-to-one or group support through various communication channels and help young people achieve positive outcomes
• Action Plans: Create and monitor individual action plans for participants to track their goals and progress.
• Activities: Organize trips and positive activities in line with the programme
• Administration: Manage day-to-day operations and oversee all administrative tasks related to the programme.
• Partnership Building: Seek and build partnerships with external stakeholders
• Representation and Liaison: Represent the organisation at various meetings

Staff management

• Staff Management: Oversee and guide the Staying Connected Support Worker(s) to ensure high performance and efficient delivery of the programme.
• Facilitator Management: Directly manage facilitators involved in the programme,

Reporting / grant management

• Budget Reporting: Prepare and present budgetary reports
• Data Management: Ensure the accuracy and timely input of project data,
• Performance Monitoring: Collate and present statistics on project performance
• Report Production: Generate reports demonstrating key data
• Business Development: Identify and pursue business development opportunities to build new partnerships and enhance programme delivery.

Evaluation

• Feedback Collection: Gather and document feedback on young people's experiences and progress through various methods
• Impact Demonstration: Use collected feedback to demonstrate the programme's impact and support efforts to secure future funding.
• Youth Voice Integration: Ensure that the feedback and perspectives of young people are incorporated into the design and delivery of the service

Person Specification

Knowledge & Experience

The Staying Connected Support Worker will bring:

• Minimum Youth Work and/or Mentoring Qualification Level 3
• Experience in the charity sector, the voluntary sector, or the community sector would be desirable.
• Management experience
• Experience working with children, young people and vulnerable adults
• Competent in the use of MS Word, Excel, and the ability to use databases for recording and reporting.
• Excellent time-keeper and manages own time effectively to keep to deadlines
• Excellent Literacy – you will have excellent communication skills, including writing skills.
• Have good interpersonal skills and some experience of engaging with a diverse group of people, including young people and vulnerable adults.
• Qualification of Health, wellbeing, and/or advocacy

As part of our Finance team, you will report to the Head of Finance, supporting with the smooth function of finance operations across all teams at Storyhouse.

You will be responsible for supporting with the preparation of the management accounts, ownership of the sales order process and credit control, ownership of the cash book, and supporting other tasks, as well as ad hoc duties across the Finance team.

Events Assistant
Salary: £10,542 (pro rata) per annum (FTE £23,061)

• Support the Events Manager to coordinate an innovative and inspiring events programme (both in person and on-line)
• Support other teams in the delivery of specific events. This includes launch events for new activities or campaigns
• Event delivery, including ensuring all materials and equipment needed for events are transported and set up

• Good organisational skills
• Excellent customer service skills and able to communicate effectively with different teams
• Able to set up the equipment needed for events. This can include, and is not limited to setting up gazebos, carrying and transporting items, arranging chairs, PA systems. This is likely to compromise 5-10% of the role.
• Competent in use of MS Office functions such as Word and Outlook and Excel
• Current UK valid car driving licence (pool cars are available to use)
