Job Purpose:
This role has two key functions:
- The prime purpose of this role is to provide administrative support to the Head of Governance in driving high standards of charity and company governance across the organisation, including the other entities within the WAGGGS group (60%).

Financial & Administration Officer
Part-time home-based role with flexible working hours
The Douglas Bomford Trust is a small grant-making charity supporting those who work in and study the broad field of agricultural engineering.
The administration of the Trust is undertaken by a Technical Secretary (TS) and a Financial Administration Officer (FAO), the Technical Secretary being responsible for dealing with applications and ongoing awards, and associated activities.
The current Financial Administration Officer wishes to stand down at the AGM to be held in November 2025, having worked with the Trust since 2007. It is hoped that the successful candidate will attend the April Trust General Management Meeting (scheduled for 9th April 2025), then liaise with the current FAO to gradually assume responsibilities over the summer months ready for November AGM. Experience in or familiarity with the agricultural or education sector would be useful for this role.
The primary duties of the role are:
· the maintenance of the Trust records, both financial and general,
· paying of grants etc
· working with the TS to plan and hold trustee meetings, including taking minutes
· updating the Trust website
· maintaining records for Charities Commission and Companies House
The role is undertaken on a self-employed basis, with hours worked charged quarterly; the proposed hourly rate being £30/hour. The hours are variable but generally average at 140-150 hours pa. Trustees’ meetings are held twice yearly usually in April and November, with the workload being heavier in preparation for and after these two meetings. (Latterly, one of these meetings is held virtually and one at an institution in receipt of a grant for a PhD student etc.) Other ad hoc meetings with investment managers, trustees may be attended (often virtually).
Liaison with TS is by phone/Zoom etc.
The registered office of the Trust is currently at Cranfield, within the offices of the Institution of Agricultural Engineers; archives are stored at this location. However, the role does not require regular access to these, and a potential candidate is not required to be local to this site.

The Bikeability Trust is coming towards the end of a process of digital transformation to create and end to end booking and monitoring system for all Bikeability Training. We have designed and implemented a new system for parents, carers and schools to record trainee details, training providers and grant recipients to be able to record outcomes and course completion. About the Role
As Product Lead (Content), you’ll play a key role in managing the lifecycle of learning content, from development to implementation. Your work will ensure that content aligns with product strategy, regulatory requirements, and user needs.
You’ll collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and third-party content providers to create innovative and accessible learning resources in various formats. This role also involves line managing contractors, overseeing content quality assurance, and developing strategies to enhance the organisation’s learning materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a content strategy and roadmap aligned with the organisation’s goals.
- Oversee the full content lifecycle, ensuring efficient development, review, and withdrawal of content.
- Manage content quality assurance, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
- Work closely with the other Product Leads to ensure seamless content development for product launches.
- Commission and oversee third-party content providers, managing endorsement and review processes.
- Line manage contractors, assigning work, reviewing outputs, and maintaining engagement.
- Develop innovative and accessible learning resources in multiple formats.
- Monitor and evaluate content effectiveness, identifying areas for improvement.
- Represent the organisation at events, meetings, and conferences to strengthen industry relationships.
Experience Required
- Experience in an awarding organisation, education setting, or similar field.
- Experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or content development.

We are seeking someone with a keen eye for detail and who has the ability to work on their own initiative as part of a remote team. A willingness to learn, get on with the job, to question and to challenge will be essential.
As the Governance and Reporting Officer, you’ll play a crucial role in the relationship with a key stakeholder and our largest funder, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG), ensuring the good governance and excellent reporting of progress against this Grant. You’ll be a great communicator, with the ability to influence, negotiate and problem solve.
Key Responsibilities:
You’ll provide overall coordination of MHCLG grant governance and reporting, ensuring all areas delivering under the terms of the grant are aware of reporting deadlines, providing them with the necessary support and advice in preparing progress reports.
Supporting the production of concise, relevant and timely updates and responses for our Senior Leadership Team.
Delivering high quality reports by ensuring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail is applied.
Supporting the Governance Team in ensuring high standards of governance and reporting in all activities.
Providing general administrative support to the overall grant governance process and to the Governance Manager including but not limited to checking stakeholder and key personnel availability for meetings, producing accurate minutes, records and action logs arising, coordinating company reporting to meet deadlines and reviewing documents for tone of voice, uniformity, conformity and completeness.
Building and maintaining good working relationships with key stakeholders.
Supporting continuous improvement of the reporting across the organisation by working with all areas of the organisation to improve the presentation, accuracy and consistency of data and reporting.
Undertaking such other tasks as may be reasonably requested by the Governance Manager.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for developing and strengthening our financial systems at an important time of growth. The Finance Manager will be responsible for:
- Set-up and ongoing management of accounting software (all records currently held on Excel)
- Bookkeeping (UK and Ghana)
- Monthly gift aid submissions to HMRC
- Regular financial reporting
- Cash flow forecasting

Person specification
Essential:
- Professional accountancy experience, ideally in a charity context
- Confident use of accounting software
- Experience of strengthening financial systems and delivering process improvements
- Advanced Microsoft Excel experience and skills, including importing data into accounting systems from third party sources and analysing data
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to translate and explain financial information to non-finance colleagues and stakeholders
