Who we are looking for
We are looking for a part-time maternity cover Finance Officer to join our ambitious and growing type 1 diabetes medical research charity, Breakthrough T1D.
As one of two Finance Officers you will focus on income processing, credit control and gift aid. Reporting to the Head of Finance, but working closely with the Supporter Care team, this is a key role in contributing towards the smooth operation of the Finance team responsible for delivering timely and accurate financial information to the organisation.
You will be proficient with accounting and other software packages including Excel and Sage 200 or equivalents.
You’ll have previous experience of charity income accounting and knowledge of fundraising platforms. You will be able to work independently as well as being part of the Finance team.

The charity’s mission is to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds to access top universities, through a unique combination of tuition and in-school mentoring.
The Key Project Coordinator manages the day-to-day running of the programme in the school, which has been carefully designed with the intention that all interactions have a positive impact on a student’s chances of getting into a top university.
Key responsibilities include:
- Engaging with students in school and enrolling them onto the programme
- Matching students with volunteer tutors
- Monitoring student attendance to tutorials and devising innovative solutions to encourage attendance
- Assessing student progress towards being able to make successful university applications
- Uploading information onto the Salesforce database (training is provided)
- Building and managing relationships with volunteer tutors to ensure they have a positive experience of the programme
- Working with school staff to ensure their cooperation and timely completion of activities contributing to the smooth running of the programme

The Heaney Cluster an intensively supported housing scheme for the most challenging customers in the borough. The majority of the customers come with a history of entrenched rough sleeping; often coupled with enduring mental health difficulties. The aim is to offer a home to those who would have difficulty finding accommodation because of their lifestyle choices involving extreme drug and alcohol misuse. The high support hostel caters for eleven service users with complex needs and is staffed 24 hours a day with the minimum of three staff on duty. The medium support services are staffed from 9am to 9pm where the customers present with varying degrees of mental health issues.
Enhanced Support Workers will devise person centered support plans with customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet their needs and goals. This will include sign posting them to the local drug and alcohol services to address substance misuse issues. They will work with customers to promote social inclusion and alongside other members of the team to promote independent living, encouraging customers to maximise their skills and choices.

Overview of the role
This role, which will be largely remote, with regular online supervision and periodic meet-ups, offers the opportunity to support an important social justice initiative which has received hugely positive feedback from participants. You will support the coordination team in delivering a series of events throughout the year, including our longest-running programme, the Bar Mock Trial Competition, which involves 22 events over six consecutive weeks in November. We work with schools, venues, and volunteers to provide inspiring learning experiences and programmes for children and young people.
You will contribute directly to our mission by leading the delivery of our school events programme. This includes responsibility for all aspects of event planning, delivery, and management, partner and volunteer development and management, audience development and evaluation, and events budgeting.

The ideal candidate will be highly organised with demonstratable experience in planning and logistics of a large portfolio of events in different venues (including online delivery) within budget and have excellent communication skills.

About the Role:
The Information & Advice Generalist Adviser provides rights-based advice to clients, helping them understand and access services, entitlements, and benefits. You’ll also take part in outreach activities, collaborating with partner agencies and representing Age UK Bromley & Greenwich in community events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate, accessible advice on welfare benefits, care provision, housing options, legal issues (such as Lasting Power of Attorney), and more.
- Conduct benefits assessments, support claims processes, and advocate for clients in appeals.
- Perform rights-based casework, including helping clients with complaints and making representations as needed.
- Maintain detailed, up-to-date client records in our case management system.
- Collaborate with volunteer advisers, providing training, support, and guidance to ensure consistent service quality.
