Our ambitious and creative team has been working hard over the last year to expand our work to help more people in need across Sussex and Surrey. School Food Matters (SFM) exists to teach children about food and to improve children’s access to healthy, sustainable food during their time at school. We provide fully funded food education programmes to schools. Young Marketeers is our flagship food education programme which gives primary school children an opportunity to learn about food production, grow their own veg, and set up a stall at their local community market. Job Purpose
· To manage our Young Marketeers programme across England
Key Tasks include:
Staff management and training
- Provide support and training to a team of freelance Project Officers/Gardeners across the country
- Organise induction of new staff, including development of resources and training packages
Partner relationships
- Conduct desk research on schools and partners in new cities for recruitment
· Maintain good relationships with freelance team, schools and local partners, and visit regions

We are looking for an Employment Specialist to join our team in Leatherhead, Surrey. We help individuals with mental health problems to find paid employment. We also support people to retain their employment when they are struggling at work due to their mental health. We also advise and support employers about mental health in the workplace. But its only possible with the help of people like you.
Your challenge? To do everything you can to help the individuals we work with to source appropriate work experience placements with local organisations/employers. Day to day, you’ll offer support, careers advice and guidance, helping people to set their own recovery and employment focused goals and provide training in personal and skills development such as CV preparation, interview techniques etc. You’ll also be responsible for establishing and maintaining positive links with community mental health teams and have the initiative to develop and promote the service. Additionally, you will have responsibility for maintaining efficient admin systems to ensure referrals, assessments and reviews are completed in a timely manner.
As well as a good understanding of mental health problems and the issues and barriers this can create for our clients, you’ll need excellent motivational, presentation and listening skills and a willingness to travel in the local area and to work outside of office hours as required.

We are looking for a part time Information & Advocacy Community Support Worker in Scotland. You will be home based living in the North of Scotland.
You will ensure that service users (children and adults) and their families, receive high quality support, from the point of diagnosis and throughout their journey, and will assist them to access funding, equipment and care and support that they are entitled to. You will join a team that makes a real difference to the lives of the people living with muscle-wasting conditions, and their families, in Scotland. The role will be primarily home based, but there will also be a requirement to attend outpatient clinics within the region, attend home visits where appropriate and to support responding to queries through the helpline and information inbox. Overview
To date, Global Dialogue’s finances has been overseen by an external accountancy firm. Over the last eighteen months, we have been working towards bringing our finance function in house. This role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced accountant to take the reins and complete the development and roll out of our internal finance function.
The Head of Finance is a new role within the organisation that is both strategic and handson. In the first phase, the postholder will be required to roll up their sleeves and, with the support of Global Dialogue’s Finance Officer, get stuck into the detail of financial administration, including overseeing twice monthly pay runs, monthly and quarterly closes, and other day-to-day financial management tasks. Alongside this, the role will lead on bringing the finance function fully in house, eventually taking on full responsibility for the preparation of management and statutory accounts, cashflow and FX management, and budgeting and forecasting processes. This role will play a key coaching role for the Finance Officer, with a view to eventually delegating all bookkeeping tasks. The postholder will also be responsible for ensuring finance systems are innovative, robust and fit for purpose, and will be a business partner to our hosted programmes, providing advice on compliance and strategic matters.
Global Dialogue’s role as an international fiscal host means that we have a complex financial model, receive income from diverse streams and manage a high number of restricted funds. Our programmes lead cutting edge work, which means that our work is varied and fastpaced, requiring frequent innovation. YMCA East Surrey is looking for an enthusiastic, well-organised and experienced HR Manager who has sound organisational skills, is an expert in managing a team who leads by example.
The HR Manager will have a strong understanding and experience of implementing recruitment good practice, HR systems and processes, and payroll administration.
They will also have excellent communication skills, an ability to provide outstanding customer service alongside exceptional attention to detail.
Job Purpose: – Support the Senior Leadership Team with the implementation of YMCA East Surrey (YMCA ES) corporate strategy and, providing operational leadership to the HR team to ensure a professional and proactive HR service that fully supports the operational priorities of YMCA ES.
Hours of work: 35 hours per week. Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.
Location: Hillbrook House, 68 Brighton Road, Redhill, Surrey, RH1 6QT .
Annual leave: Five weeks plus bank holidays (pro-rata for part time workers) Holidays increase after two years’ service to a maximum of six weeks after six years’ service. (pro-rata for part time workers)

Main Responsibilities:
– Provide professional and operational HR leadership to the HR team, ensuring that the HR team has clear objectives and associated work plans, perform to the highest standards and continues to be seen as a proactive, customer focussed and trusted partner to colleagues across YMCA ES at all levels.
– Provide leadership and direction to the team to ensure appropriate, effectively risk managed and legally compliant management of Employee Relations issues on behalf of YMCA ES.
– Plan, develop and manage the delivery of HR projects.
– Lead on employee reward, ensuring that pay and benefits are fit for purpose, respond to organisational needs, enable us to recruit and retain high quality staff, and are robust and legally compliant, while ensuring effective cost controls.
– Have operational responsibility for Safeguarding regarding HR practices to ensure a strong and supportive safeguarding culture with appropriately robust systems, processes, understanding and engagement across YMCA ES.
– Ensure all HR processes are Lean, business focused and maximise the capability of the HRIS and other systems.
– Oversee the organisational monthly payroll process (delivered by the HR team), ensuring it is processed accurately, on time and meets statutory obligations.
– Manage the effective identification and selection and oversight of HR service providers and consultants, ensuring that contracts and service delivery meet specified requirements, are effective and value for money
– Understand UK, sector-wide and wider emerging HR issues, assessing their HR implications for YMCA ES and advising on/developing appropriate organisational approaches. Represent YMCA ES within the sector, and more widely where relevant, developing and maintaining a network of external contacts for effective engagement and collaboration.
– Ensure the provision of timely and accurate management information and analysis, reports to Trustees, Senior Leadership Team, Senior Managers, and external bodies to support appropriate decisions and actions.
– Any other duties are required to be performed within the grade and renumeration of the role.

We are looking for a Finance Manager and Company Secretary to manage all financial operations and ensure compliance with legal, financial, and regulatory obligations for this charity. You will play a critical role in supporting our mission and work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, Trustees, and Board members. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and monitor the charity's financial budgets and cash flow forecasts in collaboration with the CEO and project leads.
- Deliver monthly management accounts on time and work with management to ensure financial oversight.
- Present quarterly financial reports to the Audit & Risk Committee and attend Board meetings.
- Manage outsourced bookkeeping, accountancy, and payroll administration, ensuring the accuracy of financial records using Xero.
- Work with the charity's external accountant to prepare statutory annual accounts.
- Assist in drafting the Annual Report and liaise with auditors to ensure a smooth audit process.
- Ensure financial policies and controls are in place and act on feedback from auditors to improve processes.
- Monitor and update the charity's risk register and ensure compliance with legal, accounting, tax, and charity regulations.
- Fulfil Company Secretary duties, ensuring statutory accounts are filed with Companies House and the Charity Commission on time.
Essential Requirements:
- Recognised accountancy qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Strong accounting experience, including charity statutory accounting and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (ideally Xero), with strong Excel skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrable experience in producing management accounts, interpreting financial data for both expert and non-expert audiences.
- Experience of managing external audits and collaborating with auditors.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise, multitask, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a virtual team, with excellent self-direction and initiative.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of charity governance and compliance requirements.
- An interest in areas such as sustainability, social justice, or rural affairs.
- Experience managing external accountancy service providers.
