Location: Hybrid (split between home-working and one of our offices - based in London, Cardiff or Edinburgh)

Hours:21 Hours per week

Salary on appointment: £14,742 - £16,216 per annum*

*This role sits within a pay grade with a pay range of FTE £24,570 to £27,027. The salary on appointment will be set at the lower end of the pay range, to a maximum of 10% above the base salary, depending on the candidate's skills and experience. This approach aims to ensure fair compensation for new hires while maintaining alignment with the structured pay scale for the role.

Purpose of Role

The Membership Marketing Officer plays a critical role in supporting the Membership and Supporter Experience Team by providing administrative support as well as a bit of creative marketing flair. This is the perfect role for someone looking for their first step in recruiting and retaining supporters.

This role involves handling administrative tasks, data management, and providing support for various multi-channel membership campaigns to help the Ramblers grow our supporter base and income.

Key responsibilities

• Support our key marketing projects including gift membership, private site, telemarketing, our annual member survey and renewal journey.
• Support the distribution and creation of promotional resources, regularly checking stock levels, and re-ordering or refreshing materials as needed, liaising with external suppliers such as print or mailing houses and delivering to budgets and deadline.
• Support the creation of e-communications, including emails to prospective members. This may include proofing content, sourcing images, checking data, building emails and reviewing content requests with support from the team.
• Provide regular impact communications and surprise and delight moments to our suppliers and fundraisers acting on our behalf
• Source inspirational stories from our walking groups and volunteers, to help support growth of our membership community. 
• Check data from our Data Team and from our suppliers to ensure it is accurate and in the right format. Provide data as needed to suppliers.
• Co-ordinate across teams to ensure data is provided in a timely fashion
• Check data is lasered correctly on printed materials, raising any concerns appropriately with suppliers
• Coordinate call listening for our core calling programmes, liaising with our volunteers and providing summary of feedback to our suppliers.
• Handle inbound enquiries coming into the team, take simple actions from these enquiries, or escalate as appropriate
• Save relevant reports, track performance and report to the Head of Membership and Supporter Experience anything notable
• Send relevant reports and feedback to suppliers
• Update a weekly tracker sheet of performance across all channels
• Provide additional support as required in responding to Facebook comments on our acquisition adverts

• Enables the Ramblers’ to effectively manage our marketing efforts to recruit and retain members and supporters.

Other

• To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required of the post holder by the Ramblers.

Role: Finance Officer

Duration: Approx. 3-4 months (September to January)

In this key role, you will help manage and process their income, working with the CRM database Raiser’s Edge to ensure all donations are handled efficiently and accurately.

As the Finance Officer, you'll be working closely with both the Finance and Fundraising teams, ensuring seamless income reconciliation and supporting the ongoing development of a new CRM system launching in February 2025.

What You’ll Do:

• Administer and process all incoming donations, including from their website, postal, phone, and third-party platforms like JustGiving and Enthuse.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure donations are coded correctly and help prepare Gift Aid claims.
• Provide top-notch supporter care, managing donor correspondence and maintaining donor records.
• Assist with the design and maintenance of the CRM database for effective data selection and reporting.
• Support the Finance Team with income reconciliation and administrative duties.

This role is responsible for supporting the growth, planning and delivery of KCLSU campaigning and organising activity ensuring that elected officers, Academic Associations, Networks and students are enabled and empowered to create strategic, member-led campaigns. Support our members to develop, shape and deliver their agenda, providing advice, coaching and guidance on how to develop impactful campaigns and projects. Work as part of the Student Voice Team to embed campaigning and organising across all areas of our work ensuring that students from every segment of the membership are empowered to make change through campaigns. Enable our communities (Academic Associations, Liberation Networks and Student Representatives) to grow and develop into effective representative bodies.

Responsibilities include:

Growing, planning & delivering KCLSU campaigns

• Provide resources, support and mentoring to student officers and student campaigners, utilising digital and offline organising models of engagement, to support them to develop hard-hitting and effective campaigns.
• Coordinate and work with KCLSU teams to support representatives and members in delivering their campaigns and communicate the impact of campaigning at KCLSU, building interest and recruiting new activists as a result.
• Deliver a range of approaches to student voice engagement, developing diverse methods of participation and innovative practices for facilitating student decision-making, co-creation, and capturing insight.
• Work with external organisations to lead on KCLSU involvement in local, national and NUS campaigns.
• Responsible for measuring and reporting the impact of our campaigns.

Developing Student Representative Communities

• Support Networks, Academic Associations and Campaign groups on-going growth and development, supporting them to build inclusive, active, and intersectional student-led communities.
• Engage with representatives through coaching, building relationships and providing support as they develop and deliver their campaigning and organising agenda.
• Ensure participation in representation is accessible and inclusive, identifying and removing barriers to engagement particularly for low participation groups.

Leadership Development

• Create and deliver training, guidance and ongoing support for Student Officers, Student Representatives and Academic Associations, equipping students with the knowledge and skills that enable them to thrive in their role and feel empowered to grow as community leaders.
• Build strong and nurturing relationships with student representatives and Academic Association leaders, coordinating effective engagement and regular contact with our members.
• Empower students – particularly those from low participation groups - to become student leaders and participate in KCLSU Elections.

We are looking to recruit a full-time officer to join our team delivering our flagship Pathways to Progress service.  Following incoming referrals, the officer will contact service users to conduct a friendly telephone or video call to complete an assessment of their needs and challenges.  The officer will then draw up action plans to connect the service users to the most appropriate set of service options, dependant on their chosen outcomes.

We are seeking a good planner with experience of helping people to identify and reach their chosen outcomes, whilst also contributing to the wider success of an established service with its inherent timeframes and capacities.

The post holder will become an active member of the Charitable Services team, promoting the delivery of life enhancing support options to people with dual sensory loss and/or their carers.  Service users will exhibit varying degrees of sensory loss, from the mild to the more profound.  We are committed to respecting and celebrating the unique personalities and aspirations of each individual service user as we work with them to identify the most empowering bespoke action plan for them.  

The officer will also have responsibility for overseeing the growth of an ongoing project to recruit and support a network of volunteers across the country, who can be co-ordinated to deliver localised marketing activities, such as attending public events on our behalf or dropping leaflets.

The main tasks delivered by the officer will be:

• To work with people with sensory loss to connect them to the services and support options that can best assist them;
• To build a friendly rapport with service users, to build trust so that they respond openly during the assessment conversations;

By securing grants and building long-term relationships with charitable trusts and foundations, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the continued care and wellbeing of the Chelsea Pensioners.

The Role:

As the Trusts & Foundations Officer, you will take ownership of an exciting and diverse portfolio of charitable trusts, foundations, and other grant-giving organisations. Reporting to the Head of Trusts and Statutory Fundraising, you will work to grow both restricted and unrestricted funding to help meet the Royal Hospital’s long-term income targets. This role requires strategic thinking, and the ability to develop and nurture lasting relationships with funders.

Key Responsibilities

As the Trusts & Foundations Officer you will assist in identifying new funding opportunities to expand the existing funder base, work closely with all departments to develop tailored proposals and implement the organisation's fundraising strategy. You will maintain a rolling programme of bespoke grant applications while building and stewarding long-term relationships with funders. The role includes supporting the Head of Trusts and Statutory Fundraising with donor communications, trust and statutory fundraising applications, submitting timely reports, and maintaining accurate records.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years’ experience in a relevant fundraising role, and a good understanding of the voluntary sector funding environment. They should be skilled in researching and developing new funding pipelines, managing multiple contacts, and have excellent writing, proof-reading, and organisational abilities. Financial literacy and budget management are essential, alongside IT proficiency and familiarity with CRM systems like ThankQ. Candidates should have experience raising funds from trusts and foundations, managing donor relationships, and working to targets and deadlines.

Growing Hope Senior Finance Officer
Location: Hybrid working (2-3 days office based in King’s Cross Mon, Thurs and possibly Fri)
Hours: 37.5 (full time)
Salary: £34,200 - £37,200PA (including London weighting, specialist officer role).

Growing Hope is a charity providing free therapy for children and young people with additional needs in partnership with local churches across the UK. We aim to grow hope for children, hope for families and hope in Jesus. Growing Hope was founded in December 2017 and has a vision to see 20 clinics set up across the UK by 2030. We have three clinics, King’s Cross, Brockley and High Wycombe, and we are currently setting up our fourth and fifth clinics in Maidstone and Redbridge. We worked with over 500 children, young people, parents, carers and siblings in 2023. As a national charity Growing Hope has trained over 1,000 professionals & parents. We are continuing to expand, with the set-up of further local clinics on the horizon.

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic finance professional with great attention to detail, strong analytical skills and an ability to work in a fast pace environment. The role will report to the Director of Operations and will involve running book keeping, reporting and banking functions as well as overseeing payroll. This role supports the national Growing Hope charity and each of the local charities’ (clinics) accounting for around £1 million collectively each year. You will be joining a small and dedicated national team of eleven.

Job Purpose
Growing Hope requires an experienced finance professional (with part qualifications) who will be responsible for the delivery of internal financial management systems and controls, and for maintaining accurate financial management records, including managing the process of producing annual accounts. This role covers both the national charity and the local Growing Hope charities which are growing across the UK. The national charity raises around £600,000 per year and the local charities around £50,000-£100,000. The Senior Finance Officer will support the charities with day to day book keeping, raising invoices, paying expenses, scheduling payroll payments and running management reports and accounts. This job role also involves advising on budgets for fundraising project proposals and working closely with the supporter engagement team. This individual will be able to communicate effectively with all the relevant parties including the national Growing Hope team, the local Clinic Managers, and local finance trustees who have overall governance of each charity’s finances.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities will be discussed and developed as the charity continues to grow.

Book keeping & Finance processes

• Processing of accounts using Quickbooks for each Growing Hope charity in a timely manner (currently 6 small charities)
• Paying expenses and invoices as and when these are approved.
• Liaising with payroll provider and scheduling salary payments for all staff each month.
• Invoicing local Growing Hope charities each month for book keeping, payroll and quickbooks.
• Running gift aid claims and supporting volunteers to run this across the Growing Hope charities.
• Liaising with local clinics and churches to agree payment schedules and giving for each financial year.
• Participate actively in prayer and worship times as part of the team. This includes praying, coaching and supporting Clinic Managers to understand their budgets and financial processes.

Fundraising

• Contributing to the fundraising strategy and development of budgets for fundraising projects.
• Contributing to the wider teams fundraising efforts through networking, and involvement in fundraising and community events.

Reporting

• Updating monthly forecast vs. budget spreadsheets for each local charity and the national charity.
• Leading monthly budget reporting meetings for Senior Leadership Team and Chair of Trustees, using analytical skills to highlight patterns or potential risks or problems arising.
• Create annual reports in partnership with the Clinic Managers and Finance trustee for each local charity and ensure these are independently examined by recruiting and liaising with volunteer accountants.

Payroll

• Liaising with the payroll provider to run payroll for all staff across the Growing Hope charities each month.
• Setting up and running pension payments each month.
• Paying NI payments each month.

General administration

• Set up bank accounts and signatories for local Growing Hope charities, support the local trustees with ensuring all financial processes are set up and working (e.g. bank account, Stripe, Quickbooks, payroll, pensions, HMRC)
• Sending letters and emails as required.
• Maintain data protection and confidentiality in line with Growing Hope’s information governance policy.
• Ensure adherence to Safeguarding and wider Growing Hope policies.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in working in the charity sector, an interest in additional needs and inclusion are highly desirable.

ESSENTIAL

• Occupational Requirement - This role has an Occupational Requirement to be a Christian, as permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1, of the Equality Act 2010.

As the Peer to Peer Groupwork Facilitator you will set up, lead and deliver a year-long peer to peer group programme for bereaved families who have experienced the sudden and unexpected death of a baby or young child.

The groupwork is based on a programme led by Harvard University and Boston’s Children’s hospital and has structured sessions drawing upon psychological model of CBT, although the sessions are not therapeutic. Each session has a theme and incorporates education, guidance and support.

You will establish and deliver a new peer online support group, facilitating group formation, and enhancing service delivery and creating a safe and welcoming space for bereaved families.

Outside the group sessions you will be responsible for managing the administration and evaluation of the service, including and collection of questionnaires and feedback required for reporting purposes and supporting members with any signposting requirements processing referrals, carrying out eligibility screening, monitoring the waiting list and inputting and keeping all database member and service records up to date.

It is a key time to be joining the charity and helping us to continue to save babies’ lives and support bereaved families. The charity has been hugely successful, but the work is far from done. The impact of the sudden death of a baby is wide and never goes away, as we know from the families that we support. This drives all our work, across each department. As a key member of our small, dedicated team, you will be instrumental in developing and marketing Icon membership while delivering exceptional customer service. Your role involves proactively engaging with members by processing their applications, managing renewals, addressing inquiries, and performing various administrative tasks.

Specific duties

Membership services

• Processing membership applications.
• Maintaining accurate membership records on the CRM system (Ready Membership).
• Responding to enquiries from prospective members, existing members, colleagues and the general public within agreed customer service timeframes.

Data management

• Effectively use data analytics to understand impact and success rates and deliver informative regular reporting against agreed KPIs.

Content and communications

• Working collaboratively with the wider Icon Team to develop the annual communications plan in line with the annual operational plan.
• Developing, commissioning and delivering the production of content for Icon’s website and Social Media channels in line with communications plan.
• Maintaining and updating Icon’s website in line with analytics data and communications plan.
• Developing and issuing Icon’s monthly internal and external email newsletters.

Marketing

• Contributing to the implementation of Icon’s Membership Growth Strategy by assisting with the development of recruitment campaigns.
• Supporting the implementation of marketing plans and promotional ideas.
• Supporting the development of Icon’s Social Media strategy and contribute to Icon’s Email Marketing strategy by utilising external newsletters to support broader advocacy work and marketing lead generation.
