Salary: £34,314 starting salary per annum plus £4,190 Inner London Weighting if based in London per annum.

About the role:

The Social Care IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy, and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process, specialising in working with women whose families are involved with Family Children Services and risk to children is a factor.  You will work to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women, focusing on working with those aged 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. This role is part advocacy, part training/education and project work to improve response to victim/survivors experiencing domestic abuse. You will be embedded in the local authority Family Children Services team, working with Social Care professionals to ensure they adopt a trauma informed approach, can recognise the dynamics of domestic abuse and are providing more holistic support. You will be the domestic abuse subject matter expert on site, upskilling fellow professionals and acting as a point of contact for any clients experiencing domestic abuse and support requirements from Family Children Services.

The Social Care project was established in 2021 and has been working in partnership with Hammersmith and Fulham Family Children Services, so the IDVAs will inherit strong working relationships and a commitment from all parties to offering more trauma-informed services.  The borough has a focus on prioritising and developing good DA work in social care and this is an opportunity to be a major player in institutional change, ensuring that women accessing Family Children services for their children have an improved experience and that the local authorities are leading the way for all survivors engaging with their services.

Advance delivers nationally accredited, quality marked services in Hammersmith & Fulham, Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea, Brent, Ealing, and across parts of East London. We work within a coordinated partnership response to domestic violence to provide independent domestic violence advocacy and support for women, children and young people and women’s community services for women who are involved in the criminal justice system, in anti-social behaviour or are at risk of breaking the law.

About You:

You will have an excellent understanding of domestic violence and its effects on women and children and of best practice within the domestic abuse in various areas of need, with particular knowledge on children safeguarding/legislation. As an experienced domestic violence advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, the post holder will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. Experience of direct work with female survivors of domestic violence, of supporting women with child safeguarding, needs, and of working within safeguarding procedures is essential for this post, as is the need to adopt and promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.

 

To be successful as the Social Care IDVA you will need the below experience and skills:

You will establish positive, proactive, and innovative working relationships with housing services and partner agencies.Provide high-quality crisis intervention, information, advocacy, and proactive support to women referred to the service, in respect to risk management and safety planning, criminal and civil remedies, housing, health, welfare rights, and children’s legislation.

Your abilities extend to assessing the needs and risks of survivors, carry out short and longer-term risk management, safety planning and support and identify and refer to services appropriate to their needs.Advising women of their rights and options for seeking help and support from other agencies and proactively advocate to ensure barriers to accessing support and protection are reduced. You will work as an advocate and educator to raise awareness and upskill professionals within Children Social Care plus work with colleagues to successfully develop and deliver training.

Direct Marketing Manager-Retention at the Disasters Emergency Committee is pivotal when we launch an appeal. They will shape and deliver new and existing supporter journeys for the DEC’s individual, community and legacy donors, and lead a programme of improvement across all major contact points between the DEC and the public.

The purpose of the role is to:

• Contribute to and develop DEC direct marketing strategies, including the refreshing, implementation and analysis of the DEC’s segmentation, to maximise future income and continually improve the retention of individual supporters for future emergency appeals,
• Lead on the production of retention and reporting back materials for individual and community supporters,
• Manage the development and maintenance of specific supporter journeys,
• Develop and oversee the materials and supporter positioning for a light touch and mainly reactive legacy marketing programme for the DEC.

The role will deliver responsibilities for strategy and planning, fundraising, networking and building relationships. You must have strong direct marketing experience with a focus on high volume donor acquisition and demonstrable knowledge of direct marketing techniques such as direct mail, email, SMS and SMS content management systems.

A proven track record of developing effective digital and direct marketing strategies, which resulted in significant growth of income and retention of a charity’s individual supporters. Experience of managing complex budgets and proven ability to manage a complex operational plan within very short timeframes and within budget.

You must have excellent understanding of donor motivations, managing donor relationships, supplier relationships and negotiating contracts.

Ideally you will have experience of working in the international humanitarian aid sector, have excellent understanding of current trends within charity direct marketing and have used Salesforce and Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Google analytics.

An ability to work under extreme pressure during appeals and to very tight deadlines with excellent attention to detail is a key driver for success in this role.

You will join a collaborative team, department and organisation that excels in maximising their fundraising effort in response to disasters that keeps donors and recipients of funds updated and engaged throughout and beyond the journey of an appeal.

We Are Survivors are looking for an experienced therapeutic manager to come and join our Community Team to help us support survivors and their supporters across Greater Manchester.

The organisation has an ambitious strategy to ensure that #NoMaleSurvivorIsLeftBehind and is looking for a new therapy services manager to help us achieve this.

You will help us to provide key services across Greater Manchester. The Community team is made of therapists, group, and community workers to support men and boys to access the services they need. This role will be a job share with our existing Therapy Services Manager. The Community Therapy team deliver trauma informed therapy to survivors and their loved ones. Role Purpose To manage specific services and teams, ensuring the provision of quality assured support services to male survivors and their loved ones. This role will be up to 12 months providing Maternity Cover to the existing Service Manager.

The role

We are seeking an experienced marketing and communications manager to raise awareness of, and engagement with, the activities of our Enterprise directorate, with a particular focus on our portfolio of regional Hubs.

The successful candidate will develop and deliver marketing plans and produce assets which may include social media posts, paid digital marketing, email newsletters, digital graphics, printed flyers, video clips, blog posts or press releases – tailoring each to regional audiences around the UK. While raising awareness of our regional Hubs with targeted outreach for key local activities, you will also work closely with a small Programme Communications team to contribute to communications plans for our entire suite of Enterprise Hub programmes, helping ensure that each delivers a sufficient volume of high quality, diverse applications from across the UK.

You will be expected to recommend marketing approaches to make an impact, while monitoring and evaluating campaigns to learn from successes and make suggestions for improvement. With good all-round communications skills, you will need to craft high impact copy as well as produce eye-catching visuals, all while adhering to the Academy’s and Enterprise Hub’s brand and visual identity guidelines. We are looking for an experienced Trust Fundraiser with a background in securing income from charitable trusts and foundations to join our team to help Groundswell continue to create positive change in the lives of people, services and systems on their mission to tackle homeless health inequalities. Our client’s inclusive Learning Hub provides a stimulating and varied timetable where students thrive in a small group setting. As Learning Hub Coordinator, you will manage and coordinate all services within the Learning Hub, ensuring they are of high quality, innovative and safe, meeting the learning needs and outcomes of the students and users who access them. Overall Duties of the xxx will include:

• Manage inbound and outbound post daily using the virtual systems in place
• Respond to telephone calls and allocate these to staff as appropriate.
• Administratively deal with the foster care training
• Liaise with the Duty Social Worker, Placement Officer and Area Manager re. Requesting and chasing children and young people outstanding looked after paper-work.
• Compile and produce weekly Newsletters/briefings for foster carers.
• Support the Children Resource Worker in producing quarterly children and young people Newsletters.
• Take panel minutes in the absence of the Admin Manager and Senior Admin Officer.
• Carry out any other task that the Admin Manager, Area Manager or any other Social Worker requires.

Purpose of the role.

The role of an Animal Welfare Officer can be very rewarding, making a real difference to the well-being of animals in our branch area. However, it can also be demanding. You will be dealing with friendly animals but also frightened, injured or wild animals. 

The successful candidate must be people-friendly. You will deal with people from all walks of life and sometimes distressed owners. You must remain calm and gathered, acting professionally at all times.

Animal Welfare Officers are predominantly lone workers, which can bring both physical and mental challenges. Whilst we ensure you feel supported, it is essential that applicants feel confident that they have the skills to work independently.

The Animal Welfare Officer will work alongside the Branch Manager and our committed board of Trustees to deliver the RSPCA Surrey East’s vision and strategy.

Primary role:

1. Support our local inspectors, dealing with animal rescues and transportation
2. Administer Veterinary financial assistance for pet owners on benefits
3. Manage our cat pods in various branches
4. Establish and manage the fostering and rehoming scheme
5. Increase engagement with our community
6. Support food banks with pet food and equipment
7. Support the Branch Manager with fundraising and information events
8. Develop and deliver community education 
9. Support the recruitment of volunteers to help support your role
10. Keep accurate records of activities to help optimise processes and enable the compilation of reports and statistics
11. Support the Branch Manager as required
12. Contribute to news and social media posts promoting our branch and work

Personal Specification

Essential

• Have a passion for animal welfare and a desire to promote and achieve the aims of the RSPCA
• Experienced in working with and handling animals, both domestic and wild
• Ability to be resilient in emotionally charged and challenging situations 
• Hold a full, valid UK driving license
• Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively to cover a wide geographic location and multiple demands
• High level of IT competence - capable of creating proposals, spreadsheets and completing reports
• Ability to create presentations and deliver them to different audiences comfortably and eloquently
• Ability to build and sustain mutually supportive relationships with external and internal stakeholders
• Confident and effective communication skills with a range of audiences including the general public, local businesses and volunteers
• Energetic and physically fit (regular heavy lifting is involved), comfortable working at heights, from ladders and in water

Preferred

• Registered Vet Nurse or holds an equivalent qualification
• RSPCA experience
• Experience working alone in a field-based role
• Familiarity with the geography of Surrey
• Understanding of key issues faced in the charity or animal welfare sector
• Some experience in fundraising and business development
• Familiar with social media
